Zsoltárok 82

1 Zsoltár Ászáftól. Isten ott áll isteni gyülekezetben, istenek közepette itél:

“A psalm of Asaph.” God standeth in God's assembly, He judgeth in the midst of the gods.

2 Meddig itéltek jogtalanul s a gonoszok személyét tekintitek? Széla.

“How long will ye judge unjustly, And favor the cause of the wicked? (Pause)

3 Szerezzetek jogot ügyefogyottnak és árvának, nyomorút és szegényt mentsetek föl;

Defend the poor and the fatherless; Do justice to the wretched and the needy!

4 szabadítsatok meg ügyefogyottat és szűkölködőt, a gonoszok kezéből mentsétek meg!

Deliver the poor and the destitute; Save them from the hand of the wicked!

5 Nem tudnak és nem értenek, sötétségben járnak, meginognak mind a föld alapjai!

They are without knowledge and without understanding; They walk in darkness: Therefore all the foundations of the land are shaken.

6 Én azt mondtam: istenek vagytok, a Legfelsőnek fiai mindnyájatok.

I have said, Ye are gods, And all of you children of the Most High;

7 Ámde mint emberek haltok meg s mint a nagyok egyike estek el.

But ye shall die like men, And fall like the rest of the princes.”

8 Kelj föl, Isten, ítéld a földet! Mert te vagy birtokosa mind a nemzeteknek.

Arise, O God! judge the earth! For all the nations are thy possession.
