1 A karmesternek. Zsoltár Dávidtól. Ének. Hozzád illő a dicsérő dal, oh Isten, Cziónban, és neked fizettessék a fogadalom!
For the end, a Psalm [and] Song of David. Praise becomes you, O God, in Sion; and to you shall the vow be performed.
2 Meghallója az imának, te eléd járul minden halandó.
Hear my prayer; to you all flesh shall come.
3 A bűnök dolgai elhatalmasodtak rajtam; bűntetteinket, te bocsásd meg azokat!
The words of transgressors have overpowered us; but do you pardon our sins.
4 Boldog, a kit megválasztasz és közeledni engedsz, hogy lakozzék udvaraidban! Hadd lakjunk jól javával házadnak, szent templomodnak!
Blessed [is he] whom you have chosen and adopted; he shall dwell in your courts; we shall be filled with the good things of your house; your temple is holy.
5 Félelmetes dolgokkal igazságban hallgass meg minket, üdvünk Istene, bizodalma mind a föld végeinek és a távoli tengernek;
[You are] wonderful in righteousness. Listen to us, O God our Saviour; the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of them [that are] on the sea afar off:
6 a ki megszilárdítja a hegyeket erejével, felövezkedve hatalommal,
who do establish the mountains in your strength, being girded about with power;
7 lecsillapítja tengerek zajongását, hullámaik zajongását és nemzetek zúgását.
who trouble the depth of the sea, the sounds of its waves.
8 S megfélemedtek a végek lakói jeleidtől, reggel és est keletjeit megujjongtatod.
The nations shall be troubled, and they that inhabit the ends [of the earth] shall be afraid of your signs; you will cause the outgoings of morning and evening to rejoice.
9 Gondoltál tt földre és megáztattad, bőven meggazdagítod, Isten patakjából, mely vizzel teli; elkészíted gabnájukat, mert így készíted őt elő:
You have visited the earth, and saturated it; you have abundantly enriched it. The river of God is filled with water; you have prepared their food, for thus is the preparation [of it].
10 barázdáit öntözve, lelapítva göröngyeit, záporesővel megpuhítod, megáldod növényzetét.
Saturate her furrows, multiply her fruits; [the crop] springing up shall rejoice in its drops.
11 Megkoronázod az esztendőt jóságoddal, és ösvényeid zsiradéktól csurognak.
You will bless the crown of the year [because] of your goodness; and your plains shall be filled with fatness.
12 Csurognak a puszta tanyái s ujjongással övezkednek a halmok;
The mountains of the wilderness shall be enriched; and the hills shall gird themselves with joy.
13 öltöttek juhokat a rétek és a völgyek gabonába burkolóznak, riadoznak meg énekelnek!
The rams of the flock are clothed [with wool], and the valleys shall abound in corn; they shall cry aloud, yes they shall sing hymns.
