Zsoltárok 64

1 A karmesternek. Zsoltár Dávidtól. Halljad, Isten, hangomat panaszomban; ellenség rettentésétől óvd meg éltemet.

Unto the end. A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy.

2 Rejts el engem a gonosztevők tanakodásától, csődülésétől a jogtalanság cselekvőinek:

You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity.

3 a kik élesítotték, mint a kardot, nyelvüket, fe. szítotték nyilukat, a keserű szót,

For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing,

4 hogy meglőjék rejtekben a gáncstalant, hirtelen lövik meg s nem félnek.

so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate.

5 Megerősödnek ők, a rossz dolgot elbeszélik, hogy tőröket rejtenek majd; azt mondják, ki látja őket?

They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?”

6 Jogtalanságokat fürkésznek ki: Elvégeztük a fürkészett fürkészést! A férfi belseje pedig és a szíve mélységes.

They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart,

7 Meglőtte őket Isten, nyiltól hirtelen lettek a sebeik.

and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds,

8 Megejtette őket magukat a nyelvük: fejet csóválnak mind, a kik nézik.

and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled;

9 S megfélemlettek az emberek mind; hirdetik az Isten cselekvését és művét szemlélik.

and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts.

10 Örülni fog az igaz az Orökkévalóban és menedéket talál benne, és dicsekszenek mind az egyenesszivüek.

The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised.
