1 A karmesternek. Jedútún számára. Zsoltár Dávidtól. Bizony, Isten iránt légy csendben, lelkem; tőle van a segítségem.
For the chief musician; after the manner of Jeduthun. A psalm of David. I wait in silence for God alone; my salvation comes from him.
2 Bizony, ő a sziklám és segítségem, mentsváram: nem tántorodom nagyot.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.
3 Meddig rohantok egy férfira — gyilkolnátok őt mindnyájan, – mint egy dűlő falra, betaszított kerítésre?
How long, all of you, will you attack a man, that you may tip him over like a leaning wall or a shaky fence?
4 Bizony, fenségéről őt letaszítani határozták, hazugságot kedvelnek: kiki szájával áldanak, de belsejükben átkoznak. Széla.
They consult with him only to bring him down from his honorable position; they love to tell lies; they bless him with their mouths, but in their hearts they curse him. (Selah)
5 Bizony, Istenre csendben várj, lelkem, mert tőle van reményem.
I wait in silence for God alone; for my hope is set on him.
6 Bizony, ő a sziklám és segítségem, mentsváram: nem tántorodom.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be moved.
7 Istennél van üdvöm és dicsőségem, erős sziklám, menedékem Istenben van.
With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength and my refuge are in God.
8 Bízzatok benne minden időben, oh nép, öntsétek ki előtte szíveteket; Isten menedék nékünk! Széla.
Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. (Selah)
9 Bizony, lehelet az ember fiai, hazugság a férfi fiai; felkerülvén a mérlegre, ők leheletnél könnyebbek egyaránt.
Surely men of low standing are vanity, and men of high standing are a lie; they will weigh lightly in the scales; weighed together, they are lighter than nothing.
10 Ne bízzatok a zsarolásban s rablottal ne hivalkodjatok; vagyon midőn virul, szívet ne fordítsatok rá.
Do not trust in oppression or robbery; and do not hope uselessly in riches, for they will bear no fruit; do not fix your heart on them.
11 Egyet beszélt Isten, kettő az, mit hallottam: hogy Istené az erő.
God has spoken once, twice have I heard this: power belongs to God.
12 És tied, Uram, a szeretet, te fizetsz kinek-hinek cselekedete szerint.
Also to you, Lord, belongs covenant faithfulness, for you pay back every person for what he has done.
