Zsoltárok 33
1 Újjongjatok, igazak, az Örökkévalóban, az egyenesekhez illik a dicsérő dal.
Be joyful, O ye righteous, in the Lord; [for] unto the righteous praise is comely.
2 Hálalkodjatok az Örökkévalónak hárfával, tízhúrú lanton zengjetek neki;
Give thanks unto the Lord with the harp: with the ten-stringed psaltery do ye sing [praises] unto him.
3 énekeljetek neki új éneket, szépen hárfázzatok riadással!
Sing unto him a new song; play beautifully amidst a triumphant shout.
4 Mert egyenes az Örökkévaló igéje, s minden tette hűséggel való.
For the word of the Lord is upright; and all his works [are done] in truth.
5 Szeret igazságot és jogot, az Örökkévaló szeretetével tele a föld.
He loveth righteousness and justice: the earth is full of the kindness of the Lord.
6 Az Örökkévaló igéje által készűltek az egek és szája lehellete által egész seregük.
By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
7 Összegyűjti mint gátba a tenger vizeit, tárházakba teczi a hullámokat.
He gathereth together like heaps the waters of the sea: he layeth up in store-houses the depths [of the sea].
8 Féljenek az Örökkévalótól mind a földön levők, tőle rettegjenek mind a világ lakói.
Let all the earth fear the Lord: of him stand in awe all the inhabitants of the world.
9 Mert ő mondta és lett, parancsolta s előállt.
For he spoke, and it came into being: he commanded, and it stood fast.
10 Az Örökkévaló megbontotta a nemzetek tanácsát, meghiúsította a népek gondolatait.
The Lord frustrateth the resolves of the nations: he bringeth to nought the thoughts of the people.
11 Az Örökkévaló tanácsa örökkön fennáll, szíve gondolatai nemzedékre meg nemzedékre.
The counsel of the Lord will stand for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
12 Boldog a nemzet, melynek az Örökkévaló az Istene, a nép, melyet birtoknl választett magának.
Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he hath chosen for himself as a heritage.
13 Égből tekintett le az Örökkévaló, látta mind az ember fiait;
The Lord looketh from heaven; he seeth all the sons of men.
14 székének helyéből nézett a föld minden lakóira
From the place of his habitation he directeth his view upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
15 ő, ki egyetemben alkotja szívöket, a kí figyel mind a tetteikre.
He fashioneth their hearts altogether; he hath regard to all their works.
16 Nem győztes a király hadnak sokaságával, hős nem menekszik erőnek sokaságával;
The king is not saved by the multitude of an army: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 hazug a ló győzelemre, erejének nagyságával meg nem ment.
Vain is the horse for victory: nor shall he deliver any by the greatness of his strength.
18 Íme az Örökkévaló szeme tisztelői felé fordul, azokra, kik várakoznak szeretetére,
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those that fear him, upon those that hope for his kindness.
19 hogy haláltól megmentse lelköket, és életben. tartsa őket éhinségben.
To deliver from death their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Lelkünk reménykedett az Örökkévalóban – segítségünk és paizsunk ö;
Our soul waiteth for the Lord: our help and our shield is he.
21 mert ő benne örül szívünk, mert szent nevében bízunk.
For in him shall our heart rejoice: because in his holy name have we trusted.
22 Legyen szereteted, Örökkévaló, mi rajtunk, a hogy várakoztunk reád!
Let thy kindness, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.
