1 Hallelúja! Dícsérd, én lelkem, az Örökkévalót!

Halleluyah ·praise Yah·! Praise Adonai, my soul.

2 Hadd dicsérem az Örökkévalót életemben, hadd zengek Istenemnek, a míg vagyok.

While I live, I will praise Adonai. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to my God as long as I exist.

3 Ne bízzatok nemesekben, ember fiában, kinek nincsen segedelme:

Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help.

4 elszáll szelleme, visszatér földjéhez, azon a napon elvesznek szándékai.

His spirit departs, and he teshuvah ·completely returns· to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish.

5 Boldog, kinek Jákób Istene a segítsége, kinek reménye van az Örökkévalóban, az ő Istenében,

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob [Supplanter] for his help, whose hope is in Adonai, his God:

6 ki készítette az eget és földet, a tengert és mindazt, mi bennük van; a ki hűséget tart örökké,

who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;

7 jogot szerez a zsaroltaknak, kenyeret ad az éhezőknek. Az Örökkévaló fölszabaditja a foglyokat;

who executes mishpat ·justice· for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. Adonai frees the prisoners.

8 az Örökkévaló látókká teszi a vakokat; az Örökkévaló fölegyenesíti a görnyedteket; az Örökkévaló szereti az igazakat;

Adonai opens the eyes of the blind. Adonai raises up those who are bowed down. Adonai 'ahav ·affectionately loves· the upright.

9 az Örökkévaló megőrzi a jövevényeket, az árvát és özvegyet föntartja – de a gonoszok útját elgörbíti.

Adonai preserves the foreigners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.

10 Az Örökkévaló király lesz örökké, Istened, oh Czión, nemzedékre meg nemzedékre! Hallelúja!

Adonai will reign forever; your God, O Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking], to all generations. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
