1 Zarándoklás éneke. Dávidtól. Örültem, mikor azt mondták nekem: az Örökkévaló házába menjünk.

A Song of Ascents. David’s. I was glad, when they were saying unto me, Unto the house of Yahweh, let us go!

2 Ott álltak lábaink kapuidban, oh Jeruzsálem!

Standing are our feet, within thy gates, O Jerusalem!

3 Jeruzsálem, mely építve van, mint oly város, mely egyaránt összekapcsoltatott;

Jerusalem! that hath been builded, A true city, all joined together as one:

4 hová felvonúltak a törzsek, Jáh törzsei, bizonyságul Izraélnek, hogy hálát adjanak az Örökkévaló nevének.

Whither have come up the tribes, The tribes of Yah, A testimony to Israel, To give thanks unto the Name of Yahweh:

5 Mert ott ültek trónokon törvényre, trónjain Dávid házának.

For there are set—Thrones for justice, Thrones for the house David.

6 Kérdezzétek Jeruzsálem békéjét: boldogok legyenek, kik téged szeretnek!

Ask ye for the peace of Jerusalem, They shall prosper, who love thee!

7 Legyen béke bástyádon, boldogság palotáidban!

Peace be within thy walls, prosperity within thy palaces:

8 Testvéreim és társaim kedvéért, hadd szólok: Béke benned!

For the sake of my brethren and friends, Oh, might I speak [saying], Peace be within thee!

9 Az Örökkévalónak Istenünknek háza kedveért, hadd kérjek jót neked!

For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, will I seek blessing for thee.
