1 Szeretem, hogy meghallja az Örökkévaló hangomat, könyörgésemet.
I rejoice that the LORD hath heard the voice of my supplication,
2 Azért hajlította felém fülét, s napjaimon át szólítom.
That he hath inclined his ear to me and heard me; I will call upon him as long as I live.
3 Körülfogtak engem halálnak kötelei, és alvilágnak szorongásai értek, szorongást és bánatot értem; (Sheol h7585)
The snares of death encompassed me, And the pains of the underworld seized upon me; I found distress and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)
4 de az Örökkévalónak nevét szólítom: oh Örökkévaló, szabadítsd meg lelkemet!
Then called I upon the LORD: O LORD! deliver me!
5 Kegyelmes az Örökkévaló és igazságos, s Istenünk irgalmas.
Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yea, our God is merciful.
6 Megőrzi az együgyüeket az Örökkévaló; megfogytam, de segített nekem.
The LORD preserveth the simple; I was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Térj vissza, lelkem, nyugalmadra, mert az Örökkévaló jót végzett rajtad!
Return, O my soul! to thy rest! For the LORD hath dealt kindly with thee.
8 Bizony, megmentetted lelkemet a haláltól, szememet a könytől, lábamat a taszitástól.
For thou hast preserved me from death; Thou hast kept mine eyes from tears, And my feet from falling!
9 Járhatek az Örökkévaló előtt az élők országaiban.
I shall walk before the LORD, In the land of the living.
10 Én hiszek, midőn így szólok: sanyarogtam én nagyon.
I had trust, although I said, “I am grievously afflicted!”
11 Mondtam én elhamarkodásomban: az ember mind hazug.
I said in my distress, “All men are liars.”
12 Mivel viszonozzam az Örökkévalónak mind a jótéteményeit én irántam?
What shall I render to the LORD For all his benefits to me?
13 Segítségnek serlegét emelem s az Örökkévalónak nevét szólítom.
I will take the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the LORD;
14 Fogadásaimat megfizetem az Örökkévalónak, előtte bizony egész népének.
I will pay my vows to the LORD, In the presence of all his people.
15 Drága az Örökkévalónak szemeiben jámborainak a halála.
Precious in the eyes of the LORD Is the death of his holy ones.
16 Oh Örökkévaló – mert szolgád vagyok, szolgád vagyok, szolgálód fia, megoldottad kötelékeimet.
Hear, O LORD! for I am thy servant; I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid! Thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 Neked áldozom hálának áldozatát, s az Örökkévaló nevét szólítom.
I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of the LORD.
18 Fogadásaimat megfizetem az Örökkévalónak, előtte bizony egész népének.
I will pay my vows to the LORD In the presence of all his people,
19 Az Örökkévaló házának udvaraiban, közepedben, oh Jeruzsálem! Hallelúja!
In the courts of the house of the LORD, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem! Praise ye the LORD!
