Zsoltárok 105
1 Adjatok hálát az Örökkévalónak, szólítsátok nevét, tudassátok a népek közt cselekményeit!
O give thanks unto the LORD; Call upon his name; Make known his deeds among the people!
2 Énekeljetek neki, zengjetek neki, gondolkodjatok el mind az ő csodatettein!
Sing unto him; sing psalms unto him; Tell ye of all his wondrous works!
3 Dicsekedjetek szent nevével; örüljön szíve az Örökkévaló keresőinek!
Glory ye in his holy name; Let the hearts of them that seek the LORD rejoice!
4 Keressétek föl az Örökkévalót és hatalmát, arczát keressétek mindig!
Seek the LORD, and his majesty; Seek his face continually!
5 Emlékezzetek csodatetteiről, melyeket mívelt, csodajeleiről és szája ítéleteiről.
Remember the wonders he hath wrought, His miracles and the judgments of his mouth,
6 Szolgájának Ábrahámnak magzatja ti, Jákób fiai, az ő kiválasztottjai!
Ye offspring of Abraham his servant, Ye children of Jacob his chosen!
7 Ő az Örökkévaló, a mi Istenünk, az egész földön vannak ítéletei.
Jehovah, he is our God, His judgments are over all the earth.
8 Örökké megemlékezett szövetségéről, az igéről, melyet megparancsolt ezer nemzedékre,
He remembereth his covenant for ever, And the promise to a thousand generations;
9 melyet kötött Ábrahámmal, és Izsáknak tett esküjéről;
The covenant which he made with Abraham, And the oath which he gave to Isaac;
10 megállapította Jákóbnak törvényül, Izraélnek örök szövetségül;
Which he confirmed to Jacob for a decree, And to Israel for an everlasting covenant.
11 mondván: neked adom Kanaán országát, birtoktok osztályául!
“To thee,” said he, “will I give the land of Canaan For the lot of your inheritance.”
12 Midőn csekély számúak voltak, csak kevesen és benne tartózkodók:
When they were yet few in number, Very few, and strangers in the land;
13 akkor jártak nemzettől nemzethez, egyik királyságból más néphez.
When they went from nation to nation, From one kingdom to another people,
14 Nem engedte embernek, hogy zsarolja őket, s megfenyített miattuk királyokat:
He suffered no man to oppress them; Yea, he rebuked kings for their sakes.
15 ne nyúljatok fölkentjeimhez és prófétáimat ne bántsátok!
“Touch not,” said he, “mine anointed, And do my prophets no harm!”
16 Éhséget szólított az országra, eltörte a kenyér minden pálczáját.
Again, when he commanded a famine in the land, And broke the whole staff of bread,
17 Küldött előttük egy férfiút, rabszolgául adatott el József.
He sent a man before them; Joseph was sold as a slave.
18 Békóval sanyargatták lábát, vasba jutott a lelke,
His feet they hurt with fetters; He was bound in chains of iron;
19 az időig, hogy bekövetkezett az igéje, az Örökkévaló szava megtisztította őt.
Until his prediction came to pass, And the word of the LORD proved him.
20 Küldött a király s feloldozta, népek uralkodója s kiszabadította.
Then the king sent, and loosed him; The ruler of nations, and set him free;
21 Úrrá tette háza fölött és uralkodóvá minden vagyonán,
He made him governor of his house, And lord of all his possessions;
22 hogy megköthesse nagyjait kedve szerint, és bölcscsé tegye véneit.
To bind his princes at his pleasure, And teach his counsellors wisdom.
23 És Egyiptomba jutott Izraél, s Jákób tartózkodott Chám földjén.
Israel also came into Egypt, And Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham;
24 S megszaporította népét nagyon és számosabbá tette szorongatóinál.
Where God increased his people greatly, And made them stronger than their enemies.
25 Átváltoztatta szívöket, hogy meggyűlöljék népét, hogy fondorkodjanak szolgái ellen.
He turned their hearts to hate his people, And form devices against his servants.
26 Küldte Mózest, az ő szolgáját, Áront, akit kiválasztott;
Then sent he Moses his servant, And Aaron, whom he had chosen.
27 elvégezték köztük jeleinek dolgait meg csodákat Chám földjén.
They showed his signs among them, And his wonders in the land of Ham.
28 Küldött sötétséget és sötét lett, s nem engedetlenkedtek igéje iránt.
He sent darkness upon them, and made it dark; And they did not disobey his word.
29 Átváltoztatta vizeiket vérré s megölte halukat.
He turned their waters into blood, And caused their fish to die.
30 Hemzsegett országuk békáktól, királyaik szobáiban.
Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, Even in the chambers of their kings.
31 Szólt és jött gyülevész vad, férgek egész határukba.
He spake, and there came flies, And lice in all their coasts.
32 Jégesőt adott nekik esőjük gyanánt, lobogó tüzet országukban;
Instead of rain he gave them hail, And flaming fire in their land.
33 elverte szőlőjüket és fügefájukat és összetörte határuk fáit.
He smote also their vines and fig-trees, And broke the trees of their coasts.
34 Szólt és jött sáska, nyaló sáska szám nélkül,
He spake, and the locusts came. Destructive locusts without number,
35 s megemésztett minden füvet országukban, s megemésztette földjük gyümölcsét.
Which ate up all the herbage in their land, And devoured the fruits of their fields.
36 Megölt minden elsőszülöttet országukban, zsengéjét minden tehetségöknek.
Then he smote all the first-born in their land, The first-fruits of all their strength.
37 Erre kivonultatta őket ezüsttel és aranynyal, és törzsei közt nem volt gyöngélkedő.
He led forth his people with silver and gold; Nor was there one feeble person in all their tribes.
38 Örült Egyiptom kivonultukon, mert rájuk esett rettegésük.
Egypt was glad when they departed, For their terror had fallen upon them.
39 Kiterített felhőt takarónak, meg tüzet, hogy világítson éjjel.
He spread out a cloud for a covering, And fire to give light by night.
40 Kértek s hozott fürjet és égnek kenyérevel jóllakatta őket.
They asked, and he brought quails, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41 Sziklát nyitott és vizek folytak, jártak a sivatagban folyamként.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed forth, And ran in the dry places like a river.
42 Mert megemlékezett szent igéjéről Ábrahámhoz, az ő szolgájához.
For he remembered his holy promise, Which he had made to Abraham his servant;
43 És kivezette népét vígságban, ujjongásban kiválasztottjait;
And he led forth his people with joy, And his chosen with gladness.
44 adta nekik nemzetek országait, hogy elfoglalják népek fáradalmát:
He gave to them the lands of the nations, And they inherited the labor of the peoples;
45 avégett, hogy megőrizzék törvényeit és megtartsák a tanait. Hallelúja!
That they might observe his statutes, And obey his laws. Praise ye the LORD!
