Jeremiás sir 3
1 Én vagyok a férfi, ki látta a nyomort indulatának vesszéjével.
I AM the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
2 Engem hajtott és elvitt sötétségben és nem világosságban.
He has led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
3 Bizony ellenem újra meg újra fordítja kezét egész nap.
Surely against me is he turned; he turns his hand against me all the day.
4 Elenyésztette húsomat és bőrömet, összetörte csontjaimat.
My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
5 Épített ellenem és közrefogott méreggel és fáradalommal.
He has built against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
6 Sötét helyeken lakoztatott, mint őskornak holtjait.
He has set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
7 Körülfalazott engem, s nem mehetek ki, súlyosította bilincsemet.
He has hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he has made my chain heavy.
8 Ha kiáltok is és fohászkodom, elrekeszti imámat.
Also when I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
9 Elfalazta útjaimat faragott kővel, elgörbítette ösvényeimet.
He has enclosed my ways with hewn stone, he has made my paths crooked.
10 Leselkedő medve ő nekem, oroszlán a rejtekben.
He was to me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
11 Útjaimat eltérítette, szétvagdalt engem, pusztává tett.
He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he has made me desolate.
12 Megfeszítette íjját s odaállított engem mint czélt a nyilnak.
He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13 Bevitte veséimbe tegzének fiait.
He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
14 Nevetsége lettem egész népemnek, gúny daluk egész nap.
I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
15 Jóllakatott engem keserűségekkel, megittasított ürömmel.
He has filled me with bitterness, he has made me drunken with wormwood.
16 Megzúzta kaviccsal fogaimat, leszorított a hamuba.
He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he has covered me with ashes.
17 Letett a békéről lelkem, elfelejtettem a jólétet.
And you have removed my soul far off from peace: I forgot prosperity.
18 S mondtam: Elveszett az életerőm és várakozásom az Örökkévalótól.
And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
19 Gondolj nyomoromra éa hontalanságomra; üröm és méreg!
Remembering my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20 Gondolva gondol rá és meggörnyed bennem a lelkem.
My soul has them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21 Ezt veszem szivemre, azért várakozom.
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 Az Örökkévaló kegyei bizony nem fogytak el, bizony nem lett vége irgalmának.
It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 Újak reggelenként, nagy a te hűséged!
They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
24 Osztályrészem az Örökkévaló, mondta lelkem, azért várakozom reá.
The LORD is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 Jóságos az Örökkévaló az őt remélőkhez, a lélekhez, mely őt keresi.
The LORD is good to them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
26 Jó, midőn hallgatagon várakozik az Örökké való segedelmére.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
27 Jó a férfinak, midőn jármot visel, ifju korában!
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.
28 Magánosan üljön és hallgasson, mert ő vetette rá.
He sits alone and keeps silence, because he has borne it on him.
29 Porba tegye száját – hátha van remény.
He puts his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
30 Odaadja orczáját az őt ütőnek, lakjék jól gyalázattal.
He gives his cheek to him that smites him: he is filled full with reproach.
31 Mert nem vet el örökre az Úr.
For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
32 Mert ha bút okozott, majd irgalmaz kegyei bősége szerint.
But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
33 Mert nem szíve szerint sanyargatta és búsította az ember fiait,
For he does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
34 hogy valaki lesújtja lábai alá mind az ország foglyait,
To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
35 hogy elhajlítja a férfi jogát a legfelsőnek színe előtt;
To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
36 hogy elgörbíti az embert pörében – nem látta volna az Úr?
To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approves not.
37 Ki az, ki mondta, és lett, amit az Úr nem parancsolt volna?
Who is he that says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord commands it not?
38 A Legfelsőnek szájából nem származik-e a rossz és a jó?
Out of the mouth of the most High proceeds not evil and good?
39 Hát mit panaszkodik az ember, míg él, a férfi az ő vétkei mellett?
Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
40 Kutassuk át utainkat s vizsgáljuk meg, bogy megtérjünk az Örökkévalóhoz!
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
41 Emeljük fel szivünket kezeinkkel együtt Istenhez az égben!
Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens.
42 Mi el pártoltunk és engedetlenkedtünk, te nem bocsátottál meg.
We have transgressed and have rebelled: you have not pardoned.
43 Haragban elfödted magadat s üldöztél minket, öltél, nem sajnáltál.
You have covered with anger, and persecuted us: you have slain, you have not pitied.
44 Elfödted magadat felhővel; hogy át nem hatott imádság.
You have covered yourself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
45 Szemétté és megvetéssé tettél minket a népek közt.
You have made us as the offscouring and refuse in the middle of the people.
46 Szájukat nyitották reánk mind az ellenségeink.
All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
47 Rettegés és örvény jutott nekünk, a pusztulás és romlás.
Fear and a snare is come on us, desolation and destruction.
48 Vizpatakoktól folyik szét szemem népem leányának romlása miatt.
My eye runs down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 Szemem elomlott s nem csillapodott, szünet nélkül,
My eye trickles down, and ceases not, without any intermission.
50 míg le nem tekint és nem látja az Örökkévaló az égből.
Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
51 Szemem bút okozott lelkemnek városomnak mind a leányai miatt.
My eye affects my heart because of all the daughters of my city.
52 Vadászva vadásztak rám, mint madárra, ok nélkül való ellenségim.
My enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
53 Gödörbe szorították éltemet s követ hajítottak reám.
They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone on me.
54 Vizek áradtak fejem fölé, azt mondtam: el vagyok veszve.
Waters flowed over my head; then I said, I am cut off.
55 Szólítottam nevedet, Örökkévaló, mélységes gödörből.
I called on your name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
56 Szavamat hallottad, ne rejtsd el füledet, szabadulásom kedvéért, fohászom elől!
You have heard my voice: hide not your ear at my breathing, at my cry.
57 Közel voltál, amely napon hívtalak, azt mondtad: ne félj!
You drew near in the day that I called on you: you said, Fear not.
58 Vitted, Uram, lelkem ügyeit, megváltottad éltemet.
O LORD, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.
59 Láttad, Örökkévaló, bántalmamat, szerezz jogot nekem!
O LORD, you have seen my wrong: judge you my cause.
60 Láttad minden boszúállásukat, mind az ő gondolataikat ellenem.
You have seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
61 Hallottad gyalázásukat, Örökkévaló, mind az ő gondolataikat ellenem.
You have heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
62 Támadóim ajkai és elmélkedésük ellenem vannak egész nap.
The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
63 Ültöket és keltöket tekintsd, én vagyok gúnydaluk.
Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their music.
64 Viszonozd nekik tettüket, Örökkévaló, kezeik műve szerint!
Render to them a recompense, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
65 Adjad nekik szívnek elborulását: átkodat nekik!
Give them sorrow of heart, your curse to them.
66 Üldözd haragban és semmisítsd meg őket az Örökkévaló egei alól!
Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
