Jeremiás 49
1 Ammón fiairól. Így szól az Örökkévaló: Vajon gyermekei nincsenek-e Izraelnek, avagy nincs-e örököse? Miért foglalta el Malkám Gádot és népe az ő városaiban telepedett le?
Of the people of Ammon. "Thus says the LORD: 'Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Milcom possess Gad, and his people dwell in its cities?
2 Azért, íme napok jönnek, úgymond az Örökkévaló, és harcnak riadását hallatom Ammón fiainak Rabbája ellen és rommá, pusztasággá lesz, leányvárosai pedig tűzben gyújtatnak föl; és elfoglalja Izrael az ő elfoglalóit, úgymond az Örökkévaló.
Therefore look, the days come,' says the LORD, 'that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the people of Ammon; and it shall become a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel possess those who possessed him,' says the LORD.

Look, I will bring a fear on you,' says the LORD of hosts, 'from all who are around you; and you shall be driven out every man right forth, and there shall be none to gather together the fugitives.
6 De azután vissza fogom hozni Ammón fiainak foglyait, úgymond az Örökkévaló.
But afterward I will bring back the captivity of the people of Ammon,' says the LORD."
7 Edómról. Így szól az Örökkévaló, a seregek ura: Vajon nincs-e többé bölcsesség Témánban, elveszett-e tanács az értelmesektől, megromlott-e bölcsességük?
Of Edom. "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Is wisdom no more in Teman? Is counsel perished from the prudent? Is their wisdom vanished?
8 Fussatok, forduljatok, mélyre menjetek lakni, Dedán lakói, mert Ézsáu balsorsát hozom rá, amely időben megbüntetem.
Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths, inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau on him, the time that I shall visit him.
9 Ha szüretelők jönnek hozzád, nem hagynak böngészetet, ha tolvajok éjjel, rontanak, amennyi elég nekik.
If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves by night, wouldn't they destroy until they had enough?

But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is destroyed, and his brothers, and his neighbors; and he is no more.
11 Hagyjad el árváidat, én majd életben tartom, és özvegyeid bennem bízzanak.
Leave your fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let your widows trust in me.'
12 Mert így szól az Örökkévaló: íme akiket nem illet meg inniuk a serleget, inniuk kell, és épen te maradnál büntetlen? Nem maradsz büntetlen, hanem innod kell.
For thus says the LORD: 'Look, they to whom it did not pertain to drink of the cup shall certainly drink; and are you he who shall altogether go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, but you shall surely drink.
13 Mert magamra esküszöm, úgymond az Örökkévaló, bizony iszonyattá, gyalázattá, borzadássá és átokká lesz Boczra, és mind a városai örök romokká lesznek.
For I have sworn by myself,' says the LORD, 'that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all its cities shall be perpetual wastes.'"
14 Hírt hallottam az Örökkévalótól, és a nemzetek közé küldött követet: gyülekezzetek és jöjjetek ellene és keljetek fel a harcra.
I have heard news from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, "Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle."
15 Mert íme kicsinnyé teszlek a nemzetek között, megvetetté az emberek közt.
"For, look, I have made you small among the nations, and despised among men.
16 Rémület rád! Elámított téged szíved kevélysége, aki lakozol sziklahasadékokban, aki tartod a domb magasságát. Ha fennen rakod fészkedet, mint a sas, onnan döntlek le, úgymond az Örökkévaló.
As for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill: though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there," says the LORD.
17 És pusztulássá lesz Edóm; bárki elmegy mellette, eliszonyodik és pisszeg mind a csapásai fölött.
"Edom shall become an astonishment: everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all its plagues.
18 Szodoma és Amóra és szomszédjai feldúlásaként, mondja az Örökkévaló, nem fog ott lakni senki és nem tartózkodik benne ember fia.
As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities of it," says the LORD, "no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man live in it.
19 Íme, mint oroszlán, mely felszáll a Jordán büszkeségéből szilárd tanyára, egy szempillantás alatt elűzöm őt onnan és aki csak ki van választva, azt rendelem ellene. Mert ki olyan, mint én, ki idézhet meg engem és ki az a pásztor, aki megáll előttem?
Look, he shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoever is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? And who will appoint me a time? And who is the shepherd who will stand before me?
20 Azért halljátok az Örökkévaló határozatát, melyet Edómról határozott, és gondolatait, melyeket gondolt Témán lakóiról: bizony elhurcolják őket, a juhok legkisebbjeit, bizony elpusztítják velük együtt a tanyájukat.
Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely they shall drag them away, the little ones of the flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them.
21 Esésük zajától megrendült a föld, jajkiáltás – a nádastengernél hallatszott a hangja.
The earth trembles at the noise of their fall; there is a cry, the noise which is heard in the Red Sea.
22 Íme mint a sas száll föl és repül és kiterjeszti szárnyait Boczra felett; és lesz Edóm hőseinek szíve azon a napon, mint: a vajúdó asszony szíve.
Look, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah: and the heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs."
23 Damaszkusról. Megszégyenült Chamát és Arpád, mert rossz hírt hallottak, elcsüggednek; a tengeren aggódás van, nem bír lecsillapodni.
Of Damascus. "Hamath is confounded, and Arpad; for they have heard evil news, they are melted away: there is sorrow on the sea; it can't be quiet.
24 Ellankadt Damaszkus, futásra fordult és reszketés fogta el, kín és fájdalmak ragadták meg, mint a szülő nőt.
Damascus has grown feeble, she turns herself to flee, and trembling has seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.
25 Hogy nem hagyatott el a dicsőség városa, vígságom vára!
How is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy?
26 Azért esnek el ifjai a piacain és mind a harcosok megsemmisülnek azon a napon, úgymond az Örökkévaló, a seregek ura.
Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be brought to silence in that day," says the LORD of hosts.
27 És tüzet gyújtok Damaszkus falában, hogy megeméssze Ben-Hadád kastélyait.
"I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben Hadad."
28 Kédárról és Cháczór királyságairól, melyeket megvert Nebúkadnecczár, Bábel királya. Így szól az Örökkévaló Föl, vonuljatok fel Kédár ellen és pusztítsátok el a Kelet fiait.
Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck. "Thus says the LORD: 'Arise, go up to Kedar, and destroy the people of the east.'
29 Sátraikat és juhaikat el fogják venni, kárpitjaikat és mind az edényeiket meg tevéiket el fogják vinni és azt kiáltják felőlük: rémület köröskörül!
Their tents and their flocks shall they take; they shall carry away for themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry to them, 'Terror on every side.'
30 Fussatok, bujdossatok nagyon, mélyre menjetek lakni, ti Cháczór lakói, úgymond az Örökkévaló; mert határozott ellenetek Nebúkadnecczár, Bábel királya határozatot és gondolt ellenetek gondolatot.
Flee, wander far off, dwell in the depths, you inhabitants of Hazor," says the LORD; "for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you."

Their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their livestock a spoil: and I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners of their beards cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them," says the LORD.
33 És lesz Cháczór sakálok tanyájává, pusztaság mindörökké, nem fog ott lakni senki, nem tartózkodik benne ember fia.
"Hazor shall be a dwelling place of jackals, a desolation forever: no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man live in it."
34 Amely igéje az Örökkévalónak lett Jirmejáhú prófétához, Élámról, Czidkijáhú, Jehúda királya uralkodásának kezdetén, mondván:
The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
35 Így szól az Örökkévaló, a seregek ura: Íme én eltöröm Élám íját, vitézségük javát.
"Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Look, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
36 És hozok Élámra négy szelet az ég négy végéről, elszórom őket mind a szeleknek; és nem lesz az a nemzet, ahova nem jönnének Élám elszéledtjei.
On Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of the sky, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
37 És megrettentem Élámot ellenségeik előtt és azok előtt, kik életükre törnek és veszedelmet hozok rájuk, fellobbant haragomat, úgymond az Örökkévaló, és utánuk bocsátom a kardot, míg ki nem pusztítattam őket.
I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their life; and I will bring evil on them, even my fierce anger,' says the LORD; 'and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them;
38 És elhelyezem trónomat Élámban es elveszítek onnan királyt és nagyokat, úgymond az Örökkévaló.
and I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there king and officials,' says the LORD.
39 De lesz a napok végén, visszahozom Élám foglyait, úgymond az Örökkévaló.
'But it shall happen in the latter days, that I will bring back the captivity of Elam,' says the LORD."
