Jeremiás 12
1 Igaz vagy, Örökkévaló, ha pörölnék veled, csakhogy jogosságról beszélek veled: Miért szerencsés a gonoszok útja, miért boldogulnak mind a hűtlenkedők?
You are righteous, LORD, when I contend with you; yet I would reason the cause with you: why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all at ease who deal very treacherously?
2 Elültetted őket, meg is gyökereztek, haladnak, gyümölcsöt is termettek, közel vagy szájukban, de távol veséiktől.
You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; they grow, yes, they bring forth fruit: you are near in their mouth, and far from their heart.
3 De te, Örökkévaló, ismersz engem, látsz engem és megvizsgálod szívemet te irántad; szakítsd ki őket, mint a juhokat vágásra, szenteld őket az öldöklés napjára.
But you, LORD, know me; you see me, and try my heart toward you: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
4 Meddig gyászoljon az ország és száradjon el az egész mező füve? A bennlakók gonoszsága miatt elfogyott barom és madár, mert azt mondják; nem látja végünket.
How long shall the land be parched, and the grass of every field wither? For the wickedness of those who dwell in it, the animals are consumed, and the birds; because they said, "He shall not see our latter end."
5 Midőn gyalogosokkal futottál, kifárasztottak téged, hát miképpen versenyeznél lovakkal; béke országában biztos vagy, de miképpen fogsz cselekedni a Jordán büszkeségében?
"If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?
6 Mert testvéreid és atyád háza, azok is hűtlenkedtek irántad, azok is kiáltottak utánad tele, torokkal: ne higgy bennük, mikor jót beszélnek hozzád.
For even your brothers, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you; even they have cried aloud after you: do not believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you.
7 Elhagytam házamat, elvetettem birtokomat, odaadtam lelkem kedvességét ellenségeinek kezébe.
I have forsaken my house, I have cast off my heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
8 Lett nekem birtokom mint oroszlán az erdőben, hangját emelte ellenem, azért meggyűlöltem.
My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest: she has uttered her voice against me; therefore I have hated her.
9 Tarka madár-e nekem az én birtokom, madár gyűl-e ellene köröskörül? Gyertek, gyűjtsétek össze a mező minden vadját, jöjjetek el falni.
Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field, bring them to devour.
10 Sok pásztor rontotta, el szőlőmet, összetiporták telkemet, tették az én drága telkemet sivatag pusztává.
Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
11 Tették sivataggá, gyászol előttem elpusztultan; elpusztult az egész ország, mert nincs senki, ki szívére venné.
They have made it a desolation; it mourns to me, being desolate; the whole land is made desolate, because no man lays it to heart.
12 Mind a hegycsúcsokra a pusztában pusztítók jöttek, mert kardja az Örökkévalónak emészt az ország végétől az ország végéig; nincs béke semmi halandó számára!
Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness; for the sword of the LORD devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh has peace.
13 Búzát vetettek és tövist arattak, kínlódtak, de nem volt hasznuk: szégyenkezzetek terméstek miatt az Örökkévaló fellobbant haragjától!
They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns; they have put themselves to pain, and profit nothing: and you shall be ashamed of your fruits, because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
14 Így szól az Örökkévaló mind a rossz szomszédaim felől, akik hozzányúlnak a birtokhoz, melyet birtokba adtam népemnek, Izraelnek: Íme én kiszakítom őket földjükből és Jehúda házát kiszakítom őközülük.
Thus says the LORD against all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: 'look, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
15 És lesz, miután kiszakítottam őket, újból irgalmazok nekik; és visszahozom őket, kikit birtokába és kikit országába.
It shall happen, after that I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them; and I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
16 És lesz, ha majd megtanulják népem útjait, hogy nevemre esküsznek: él az Örökkévaló, amint tanították népemet a Báalra esküdni, akkor fel fognak épülni népem közepében.
It shall happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, "As the LORD lives;" even as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built up in the midst of my people.
17 De ha nem hallgatnak rá, kiszakítom azt a népet, kiszakítva és elveszítve, úgymond az Örökkévaló.
But if they will not hear, then will I pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it,'" says the LORD.
