1 Mózes 22
1 És történt ezen dolgok után, hogy az Isten megkísértette Ábrahámot és mondta neki: Ábrahám! És ő mondta: Itt vagyok.
After these things, God tested Abraham [Father of a multitude], and said to him, “Abraham [Father of a multitude]!” He said, “Here I am.”
2 És mondta (Isten): Vedd csak a te fiadat, a te egyetlenedet, akit szeretsz, Izsákot és menj el Mórijja földjére és áldozd fel ott égőáldozatul a hegyek egyikén, melyet majd mondok neked.
He said, “Now take your son, your only son, whom you 'ahavta ·affectionately love·, even Isaac [Laughter], and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”
3 És fölkelt Ábrahám kora reggel, fölnyergelte szamarát, vette két legényét maga mellé és Izsákot, az ő fiát; hasogatott az égőáldozathoz való fát, fölkerekedett és elment azon helyre, melyet az Isten neki mondott.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac [Laughter] his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.
4 A harmadik napon fölvetette Ábrahám szemeit és látta a helyet távolról.
On the third day Abraham [Father of a multitude] lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off.
5 És mondta Ábrahám az ő legényeinek: Maradjatok ti itt a szamárral, én pedig és a fiú elmegyünk odáig, hogy leboruljunk; azután visszatérünk hozzátok.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go yonder. We will hawa ·bow low, prostrate· in worship, and come back to you.”
6 És vette Ábrahám az égőáldozathoz való fát, föltette Izsákra, az ő fiára és kezébe vette a tüzet, meg a kést; és mentek ketten együtt.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac [Laughter] his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife. They both went together.
7 És mondta Izsák Ábrahámnak, az ő atyjának és mondta: Atyám! Az mondta: Itt vagyok, fiam. És ő mondta: Íme, a tűz és a fa, de hol van a bárány az égőáldozatra?
Isaac [Laughter] spoke to Abraham [Father of a multitude] his father, and said, “My father?” He said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
8 És mondta Ábrahám: Isten fogja kiszemelni magának a bárányt az égőáldozatra, fiam; és mentek ketten együtt.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] said, “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they both went together.
9 Midőn elérkeztek azon helyre, melyet Isten mondott neki, fölépítette ott Ábrahám az oltárt, elrendezte a fát, összekötözte Izsákot, az ő fiát és föltette az oltárra a fa fölé;
They came to the place which God had told him of. Abraham [Father of a multitude] built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, bound Isaac [Laughter] his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood.
10 és kinyújtotta Ábrahám a kezét, vette a kést, hogy levágja az ő fiát.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son.
11 Akkor szólította őt az Örökkévaló angyala az égből és mondta: Ábrahám! Ábrahám! És ő mondta: Itt vagyok.
Ha mal'ak Yahweh [The Angel of He sustains breathing] called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham! [Father of a multitude, Father of a multitude]!” He said, “Here I am.”
12 És mondta: Ne nyújtsd ki kezedet a fiúra és ne tégy neki semmit, mert most tudom, hogy istenfélő vagy és nem vontad meg fiadat, a te egyetlenedet tőlem.
He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”
13 Ábrahám pedig fölvetette szemeit és látta, hogy íme, egy kos mögötte megakadt a bozótban szarvaival; és odament Ábrahám, elvette a kost és föláldozta égőáldozatul fia helyett.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham [Father of a multitude] went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
14 És elnevezte Ábrahám ama helyet: Az Örökkévaló lát, ahogy mondják ma is: Az Örökkévaló hegyén fog megjelenni.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] called the name of that place Yahweh Yeer'eh [Yahweh will be seen / He sustains breathing will provide]. As it is said to this day, “On Adonai’s mountain, it will be provided.”
15 Az Örökkévaló angyala pedig szólította Ábrahámot másodszor az égből,
Ha mal'ak Yahweh [The Angel of He sustains breathing] called to Abraham [Father of a multitude] a second time out of the sky,
16 és mondta: Énmagamra esküszöm, – úgymond az Örökkévaló – mivelhogy megtetted ezt a dolgot és nem vontad meg tőlem a fiadat, a te egyetlenedet,
and said, “I have sworn by myself, says Adonai, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son,
17 bizony meg foglak áldani és meg fogom sokasítani magzatodat, mint az ég csillagait és mint a fövényt, mely a tenger partján van és magzatod elfoglalja ellenségeinek kapuját.
I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your offspring greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.
18 És megáldják magukat magzatoddal a föld összes népei, jutalmául annak, hogy hallgattál szavamra.
By your offspring, all the nations of the earth will be blessed because you have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· my voice.”
19 És visszatért Ábrahám az ő legényeihez, fölkerekedtek és együtt mentek Beér-Sevába; és Ábrahám lakott Beér-Sevában.
So Abraham [Father of a multitude] returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Be'er-Sheva [Well of Seven, Well of an Oath]. Abraham [Father of a multitude] lived at Be'er-Sheva [Well of Seven, Well of an Oath].
20 És történt ezen dolgok után, tudtára adták Ábrahámnak, mondván: Íme; Milko is szült fiakat Nochórnak, a te fivérednek.
After these things, Abraham [Father of a multitude] was told, “Behold, Milcah, she also has borne children to your brother Nahor:
21 Úcot, elsőszülöttét és Búzt, a fivérét és Kemúélt, Árám atyját;
Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram [Elevated],
22 és Keszedet és Cházót és Pildost és Jidlofot és Beszúélt.
Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”
23 Beszúél pedig nemzette Rebekát. Ezt a nyolcat szülte Milko Nochórnak, Ábrahám testvérének.
Bethuel became the father of Rebekah [Securely bound]. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham [Father of a multitude]’s brother.
24 És ágyasa, kinek neve Reúmo, szintén szült; Teváchot és Gáchámot és Táchást és Mááchot.
His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
