1 Mózes 15
1 Ezen dolgok után volt az Örökkévaló igéje Ávromhoz látomásban, mondván: Ne félj Ávrom, én pajzsod vagyok neked, a te jutalmad igen sok.
After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
2 És mondta Ávrom: Uram, Isten! mit adsz én nekem? hisz én járok magtalanul és házam birtokosa a damaszkusi Eliezer.
And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
3 És mondta Ávrom: Íme, nekem nem adtál magzatot és íme, az én házam szolgaszülöttje örököl utánam.
And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is my heir.
4 És íme az Örökkévaló igéje hozzá, mondván: Nem örököl ez te utánad, hanem az, aki származni fog ágyékodból, az örököl majd utánad.
And, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, This shall not be thy heir; but he that shall come forth out of thy own loins shall be thy heir.
5 És kivezette őt a szabadba és mondta: Tekints csak fel az égre és számláld meg a csillagokat, ha meg bírod azokat számlálni. És mondta neki: Így lesz a te magzatod!
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if thou art able to number them: and he said to him, So shall thy seed be.
6 És ő hitt az Örökkévalóban és (Isten) betudta azt neki igazságul.
And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
7 És mondta neki: Én vagyok az Örökkévaló, aki kihoztalak téged Ur-Kászdimból, hogy neked adjam ezt az országot, hogy bírjad azt.
And he said to him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
8 És ő mondta: Uram, Isten! mi által tudom meg, hogy én fogom azt bírni?
And he said, Lord GOD, by what shall I know that I shall inherit it?
9 És mondta neki: Vegyél nekem egy három éves üszőt, egy hároméves kecskét és egy három éves kost, egy gerlicét és egy galambfiát.
And he said to him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a female goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
10 És ő vette Neki mindezt és szétvágta azokat középen és tette mindegyiknek a részét a másikkal szembe; a madarat azonban nem vágta ketté.
And he took to him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds he did not divide.
11 És leszállottak a ragadozó madarak a hullákra, de Ávrom elkergette azokat.
And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
12 És midőn a nap lemenőben volt, mély álom borult Ávromra és íme, félelem, nagy sötétség borul rá.
And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
13 És mondta (Isten) Ávromnak: Tudd meg, hogy idegen lesz a te magzatod egy országban, mely nem az övék és szolgálatra szorítják őket és sanyargatják őket négyszáz évig.
And he said to Abram, Know certainly that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 De ama nép fölött is, melyet szolgálni fognak, ítéletet tartok én és azután ki fognak vonulni nagy vagyonnal.
And also that nation, which they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15 Te pedig elmégy atyáidhoz békében, el fogsz temettetni jó vénségben.
And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
16 És a negyedik nemzedék tér majd vissza ide, mert nem telik be az Emóri vétke addig.
But in the fourth generation they shall come here again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
17 És volt, midőn a nap lement és sötétség lett, íme, egy kemence: füst és tűzláng, mely átvonult ama darabok között.
And it came to pass, that, when the sun had gone down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
18 Azon a napon kötött az Örökkévaló szövetséget Ávrommal, mondván: A te magzatodnak adom ezt a földet, az egyiptomi folyamtól a nagy folyamig, a Perosz folyamig:
In that same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, To thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:
19 A Kénit, a Kenizzit és a Kádmónit,
The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
20 a Chittit, a Perizzit és a Refóimot,
And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
21 az Emórit, a Kánaánit, a Girgósit és a Jevúszit.
And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
