Ezékiel 2
1 És szólt hozzám: Ember fia, állj lábaidra, hogy beszéljek veled.
And he said unto me, —Son of man, Stand upon thy feet, that I may, speak with thee.
2 És szellem szállt belém, a mint beszélt hozzám; az lábaimra állított, és hallottam a hozzám beszélőt.
Then the Spirit entered into me as soon as he spake unto me, and it caused me to stand upon my feet, —and I heard one speaking unto me.
3 És szólt hozzám: Ember fia, küldeni akarlak Izraél fiaihoz, fellázadt nemzetekhez, a melyek fellázadtak ellenem, ők és atyáik elpártoltak tőlem egészen e mai napig.
And he said unto me- Son of man I am sending thee unto the sons of Israel, unto rebellious nations, which have rebelled against me, —they, and their fathers have transgressed against me, until this very day;
4 A fiak pedig kemény arczuak és makacs szívek – azokhoz akarlak téged küldeni; és szólj hozzájuk: így szól az Úr, az Örökkévaló!
and it is unto such sons—of shameless face, and emboldened heart, that I am sending thee, —therefore shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh.
5 És ők akár hallgatnak rád, akár vonakodnak – mert engedetlenség háza ők – megtudják, hogy próféta volt közöttük.
And they! whether they will hear or whether they will forbear, for a perverse house, they are, shall then know that, a prophet, hath been in their midst.
6 Te pedig, ember fia, ne félj tőlük s beszédjeiktől se félj mert csalánok és bogáncsok vannak veled és skorpiók mellett ülsz – beszédjeiktől ne félj és miattuk ne rettegj, mert engedetlenség háza ők.
But thou son of man Be not afraid of them Nor of their words, be afraid Though thorns and thistles are about thee, And amongst prickly plants, thou dost dwell, Of their words, be not afraid nor At their faces, be thou dismayed, For a perverse house, they are!
7 Mondd el tehát szavaimat hozzájuk, akár hallgatnak rád, akár vonakodnak, mert csupa engedetlenség ők.
Thou shalt therefore speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear For perverse, they are!
8 Te pedig, ember fia, halljad azt, a mit én majd beszélek hozzád, ne légy engedetlen, mint az engedetlenség háza, nyisd ki szájadat és edd meg azt, amit neked adni fogok.
Thou, therefore son of man, hear what I am speaking unto thee., become not perverse like the perverse house, —open thy mouth, and eat that which I am giving unto thee.
9 És láttam, s íme egy kéz kinyújtva felém, s íme abban könyvtekercs.
So I looked, and lo! a hand put forth unto me, —and lo! therein a scroll;
10 És kiterítette előttem és az be volt írva elül és hátul, és megírva rajta siralmak, nyögés és jaj.
and he spread it out before me, and, it was written on the front and the back, —and there were written thereon, lamentation and sighing, and wailing.
