2 Mózes 20
1 És Isten elmondta mindezeket az igéket, mondván:
And God speaks all these words, saying,
2 Én vagyok az Örökkévaló, a te Istened, aki kivezettelek Egyiptom országából, a rabszolgák házából.
“I [am] your God YHWH, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants.
3 Ne legyenek neked más isteneid az én színem előtt.
You have no other Gods before Me.
4 Ne csinálj magadnak faragott képet, sem bármely alakját annak, mi az égben van, fenn és ami a földön van, alant és ami a vízben van, a föld alatt.
You do not make a carved image for yourself, or any likeness which [is] in the heavens above, or which [is] in the earth beneath, or which [is] in the waters under the earth.
5 Ne borulj le előttük és ne szolgáld azokat; mert én az Örökkévaló, a te Istened, buzgó Isten vagyok, ki megbüntetem az atyák vétkét a gyermekekben, harmad- és negyedíziglen, akik engem gyűlölnek;
You do not bow yourself to them, nor serve them: for I, your God YHWH, [am] a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on a third and on a fourth [generation] of those hating Me,
6 de szeretetet gyakorlok ezeríziglen azokkal, akik engem szeretnek és megőrzik parancsolataimat.
and doing kindness to thousands, of those loving Me and keeping My commands.
7 Ne ejtsd ki az Örökkévaló, a te Istened nevét hiába, mert nem hagyja büntetlenül az Örökkévaló azt, aki kiejti az ő nevét hiába.
You do not take up the Name of your God YHWH for a vain thing, for YHWH does not acquit him who takes up His Name for a vain thing.
8 Emlékezzél meg a szombat napjáról, hogy megszenteljed azt.
Remember the Sabbath day to sanctify it;
9 Hat napon át dolgozzál és végezd minden munkádat;
six days you labor and have done all your work,
10 de a hetedik nap szombatja az Örökkévalónak, a te Istenednek; ne végezz semmi munkát se te, se fiad, se leányod, se szolgád, se szolgálód, se barmod, se idegened, ki kapuidban van.
and the seventh day [is] a Sabbath to your God YHWH; you do not do any work, you, and your son, and your daughter, your manservant, and your handmaid, and your livestock, and your sojourner who is within your gates—
11 Mert hat napon alkotta az Örökkévaló az eget és a földet, a tengert és mindent, ami bennük van és megnyugodott a hetedik napon; azért áldotta meg az Örökkévaló a szombat napját és megszentelte azt.
for [in] six days YHWH has made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that [is] in them, and rests in the seventh day; therefore YHWH has blessed the Sabbath day and sanctifies it.
12 Tiszteld atyádat és anyádat, hogy hosszú életű legyél a földön, melyet az Örökkévaló, a te Istened neked ad.
Honor your father and your mother, so that your days are prolonged on the ground which your God YHWH is giving to you.
13 Ne ölj!
You do not murder.
14 Ne törj házasságot! Ne lopj! Ne vallj felebarátod ellen, mint hamis tanú. Ne kívánd meg felebarátod házát! Ne kívánd meg felebarátod feleségét, szolgáját, szolgálóját, ökrét, szamarát, semmit se, ami felebarátodé!
You do not commit adultery.
15 És az egész nép látta a mennydörgést, a lángokat és a harsona hangját és a hegyet, amint füstölög; midőn látta a nép, megrendült és megállt a távolban.
You do not steal.
16 És mondták Mózesnek: Beszélj te velünk, hogy halljuk, de ne beszéljen velünk Isten, hogy meg ne haljunk.
You do not answer [with] a false testimony against your neighbor.
17 De Mózes mondta a népnek: Ne féljetek, mert azért, hogy megkísértsen benneteket, jött az Isten és azért, hogy legyen az ő félelme rajtatok, hogy ne vétkezzetek.
You do not desire the house of your neighbor, you do not desire the wife of your neighbor, or his manservant, or his handmaid, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything which [is] your neighbor’s.”
18 A nép tehát állt a távolban, Mózes pedig odalépett a felleghez, ahol az Isten volt.
And all the people are seeing the voices, and the flames, and the sound of the horn, and the mountain smoking; and the people see, and move, and stand far off,
19 És mondta az Örökkévaló Mózesnek: Így szólj Izrael fiaihoz: Ti láttátok, hogy az égből beszéltem veletek:
and say to Moses, “Speak with us, and we hear, and do not let God speak with us, lest we die.”
20 Ne csináljatok mellettem ezüst isteneket, meg arany isteneket ne csináljatok magatoknak.
And Moses says to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to try you, and in order that His fear may be before your faces—that you do not sin.”
21 Földből való oltárt csinálj nekem és áldozd fel azon égőáldozataidat; és békeáldozataidat, juhodat és marhádat; minden helyen; ahol engedem említeni nevemet, eljövök hozzád és megáldalak téged.
And the people stand far off, and Moses has drawn near to the thick darkness where God [is].
22 Ha pedig kőoltárt csinálsz nekem, ne építsd faragott kövekből, mert vasadat emelted rá és megszentségtelenítetted azt.
And YHWH says to Moses, “Thus you say to the sons of Israel: You have seen that I have spoken with you from the heavens;
23 És ne menj fel lépcsőkön az én oltáromra, hogy fel ne fedessék meztelenséged rajta.
you do not make gods of silver and gods of gold [to be] with Me—you do not make [any idol] for yourselves.
You make an altar of earth for Me, and you have sacrificed on it your burnt-offerings and your peace-offerings, your flock and your herd; in every place where I cause My Name to be remembered I come to you, and have blessed you.
And if you make an altar of stones for Me, you do not build them of hewn work; when you have waved your tool over it, then you defile it;
neither do you go up by steps on My altar, that your nakedness is not revealed on it.
