2 Krónika 21
1 És feküdt Jehósáfát ősei mellé és eltemették ősei mellé Dávid városában; és király lett helyette fia, Jehórám.
And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the city of David, —and Jehoram his son reigned in his steed.
2 Neki voltak testvérei, Jehósáfát fiai: Azarja, Jechíél, Zekharjáhú, Azarjáhú, Mikháél és Sefatjáhú; mindezek Jehósáfátnak, Izrael királyának fiai.
Now, he, had brethren, sons of Jehoshaphat—Azariah and Jehiel and Zechariah and Azariah, and Michael and Shephatiah, —all these, were sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel,
3 És adott nekik atyjuk sok ajándékot, ezüstből, aranyból s drágaságokból, Jehúdában levő erősített városokkal együtt; a királyságot pedig átadta Jehórámnak, mert ő volt az elsőszülött.
and their father gave them large presents—of silver and of gold and of precious things, with cities of defence, in Judah, —but, the kingdom, gave he unto Jehoram, for, he, was the firstborn.
4 Midőn Jehórám támadt atyja királysága fölött s megerősödött, akkor megölte mind a testvéreit karddal, és Izrael nagyjai közül is.
But, when Jehoram had arisen over the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren, with the sword, —moreover also some of the rulers of Israel.
5 Harminckét éves volt Jehórám, midőn királlyá lett és nyolc évig uralkodott Jeruzsálemben.
Thirty-two years old, was Jehoram when he began to reign, —and, eight years, reigned he in Jerusalem.
6 És járt Izrael királyainak útján, amint cselekedtek az Acháb házából valók, mert Achábnak leányát vette feleségül; tette azt, ami rossz az Örökkévaló szemeiben.
And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab, for, the daughter of Ahab, had he, to wife, —so he wrought wickedness, in the eyes of Yahweh.
7 De nem akarta az Örökkévaló elpusztítani Dávid házát a szövetség kedvéért, amelyet Dáviddal kötött, s amint mondta, hogy ad mécsest neki a fiainak minden időben.
Howbeit Yahweh was not willing to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant which he had solemnised, unto David, —and as he had promised to give unto him a lamp, and unto his sons, all the days.
8 Az ő napjaiban pártolt el Edóm Jehúda keze alól, és tettek maguk fölé királyt.
In his days, revolted the Edomites, from under the hand of Judah, —and set over themselves a king.
9 Ekkor vonult Jehórám a vezéreivel és az egész szekérhaddal ővele; s ő felkelt éjjel s megverte Edómot, amely körülvette őt és a szekérhad vezéreit.
So Jehoram passed over, with his captains, and all his chariot, with him, -and it came to pass that he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites that were round about unto him, and the chariot-captains.
10 Így elpártolt Edóm Jehúda keze alól mind e mai napig; akkor pártolt el Libna abban az időben keze alól, mert elhagyta az Örökkévalót, ősei Istenét.
So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah—unto this day. Then, must Libnah needs revolt at the same time, from under his hand, —because he had forsaken Yahweh, the God of his fathers.
11 Ő is készített magaslatokat Jehúda hegyein és paráznaságra vitte Jeruzsálem lakóit és eltántorította Jehúdát.
He too, made high places among the mountains of Judah, —and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to be unchaste, and seduced Judah.
12 És eljutott hozzá egy írás Élijáhú prófétától, mondván: Így szól az Örökkévaló, ősödnek Dávidnak Istene: mivelhogy nem jártál atyádnak Jehósáfátnak útjain és Ászának, Jehúda királyának útjain,
Then came there unto him, a writing, from Elijah the prophet, saying, —Thus, saith Yahweh, God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa, king of Judah;
13 hanem jártál Izrael királyainak útján és paráznaságra vitted Jehúdát meg Jeruzsálem lakóit, amint paráznaságot okozott Acháb háza, s testvéreidet is, atyád házát, akik jobbak nálad, megölted:
but hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to be unchaste, after the unchastities of the house of Ahab, —moreover also, thine own brethren of the house of thy father who were better than thou, hast thou slain,
14 íme az Örökkévaló sújtja népedet nagy csapással, meg fiaidat és feleségeidet s egész vagyonodat.
lo! Yahweh, is about to plague, with a great plague, thy people, -and thy children and thy wives, and all thy possessions;
15 Te pedig sokféle betegségben leszel, beleidnek betegségében, mígnem beleid kimennek a betegség által napokon és napokon át.
also, thyself, with sore diseases, with disease of thy bowels, -until thy bowels shall fall out, by reason of the disease, in a year added to a year.
16 És fölébresztette az Örökkévaló Jehórám ellen a filiszteusok és az arabok szellemét, akik a Kúsbeliek oldalán laktak.
And Yahweh stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and the Arabians, who were under the direction of the Ethiopians;
17 És fölvonultak Jehúdába és elfoglalták azt és fogságba vitték az egész vagyont, amely a király házában találtatott, meg fiait s feleségeit is; és nem maradt meg neki fia, csakis Jehóácház, fiainak legkisebbje.
and they came up against Judah, and forced their way into it, and carried off all the possessions that were found belonging to the house of the king, moreover also his sons and his wives, —so that there was left him never a son, save only Jehoahaz the youngest of his sons.
18 És mindezután sújtotta őt az Örökkévaló belein betegséggel gyógyíthatatlanul.
And, after all this, Yahweh plagued him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19 És volt napok és napok múlva, midőn két év múlva lejárt a vég, kimentek belei betegsége közben s meghalt kínos betegségekben; és nem rendezett számára a népe máglyaégetést, őseinek máglyaégetése módjára.
And it came to pass, in a year beyond a year, even when the end of the days of two years had passed, that his bowels fell out by reason of his disease, so that he died, of, malignant disease, —and his people made him no burning, like the burning of his fathers.
20 Harminckét éves volt, midőn királlyá lett s nyolc évig uralkodott Jeruzsálemben; és ment kedveltetés nélkül, s eltemették őt Dávid városában, de nem a királyok sírjaiban.
Thirty-two years old, was he when he began to reign, and, eight years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and went his way—unregretted, and, though they buried him in the city of David, yet, not in the sepulchres of the kings.
