1 Sámuel 3
1 A fiú Sámuel pedig szolgálta az Örökkévalót Éli előtt; az Örökkévaló szava pedig ritka volt ama napokban, látomás nem volt elterjedve.
And the child Samuel ministered unto Yhwh before Eli. And the word of Yhwh was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
2 És volt valamely napon, Éli feküdt a helyén, szemei kezdtek elhomályosodni, látni sem tudott;
And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;
3 Isten mécsese pedig még nem aludt ki. Sámuel meg feküdt az Örökkévaló templomában, ahol Isten ládája volt.
And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of Yhwh, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;
4 És szólította az Örökkévaló Sámuelt; mondta: Itt vagyok.
That Yhwh called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.
5 Odafutott Élihez és mondta: Itt vagyok, mert szólítottál engem. Mondta: Nem szólítottalak, feküdj le újra; ment és lefeküdt.
And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
6 És ismét szólította az Örökkévaló Sámuelt; erre fölkelt Sámuel, Élihez ment és mondta: Itt vagyok, mert szólítottál engem. Mondta: Nem szólítottalak fiam, feküdj le újra.
And Yhwh called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.
7 Sámuel pedig még nem ismerte az Örökkévalót, még nem nyilatkozott meg neki az Örökkévaló igéje.
Now Samuel did not yet know Yhwh, neither was the word of Yhwh yet revealed unto him.
8 És ismét szólította az Örökkévaló Sámuelt, harmadszor; erre fölkelt, Élihez ment és mondta: Itt vagyok, mert szólítottál engem. Ekkor megértette Éli, hogy az Örökkévaló szólítja a fiút.
And Yhwh called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that Yhwh had called the child.
9 Mondta tehát Éli Sámuelnek: Menj, feküdj le; és lesz, ha szólít téged, akkor mondjad: beszélj, Örökkévaló, mert hallja a szolgád. És ment Sámuel és lefeküdt helyére.
Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Yhwh; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 S eljött az Örökkévaló, odaállt és szólította, mint már több ízben: Sámuel, Sámuel. Mondta Sámuel Beszélj, mert hallja a te szolgád.
And Yhwh came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
11 És szólt az Örökkévaló Sámuelhez: Íme, én cselekszem oly dolgot Izraelben, hogy bárki hallja, megcsendül a két füle.
And Yhwh said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.
12 Ama napon teljesítem Élin mindazt, amit beszéltem házáról, kezdve és végezve.
In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.
13 Kijelentem neki, hogy ítéletet tartok háza fölött örökre, ama bűn miatt, hogy tudta, hogy fiai átkot vonnak magukra, de nem feddte meg őket.
For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.
14 Azért tehát megesküdtem Éli házáról: Nem jut engesztelés Éli háza bűnének, sem vágóáldozattal, sem lisztáldozattal, soha sem.
And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
15 És feküdt Sámuel reggelig, akkor kinyitotta az Örökkévaló házának ajtajait; Sámuel pedig félt Élinek megmondani a látomást.
And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of Yhwh. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.
16 És hívta Éli Sámuelt és mondta: Sámuel fiam! Mondta: Itt vagyok.
Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.
17 És mondta: Mi az az ige, melyet szólt hozzád? Ne titkold el, kérlek, előttem. Úgy tegyen veled az Isten és úgy folytassa, ha eltitkolsz előttem valamit mind azon igéből, melyet hozzád szólt.
And he said, What is the thing that the Lord hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.
18 Erre megmondta neki Sámuel mind a dolgokat s nem titkolta el előtte. Mondta: Ő az Örökkévaló, ami jónak tetszik szemeiben, azt tegye.
And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is Yhwh: let him do what seemeth him good.
19 Felnőtt Sámuel és az Örökkévaló vele volt és nem ejtett el mind a szavaiból semmit a földre.
And Samuel grew, And Yhwh was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
20 És megtudta egész Izrael Dántól Beér-Sebáig, hogy hűséges Sámuel mint az Örökkévalónak prófétája.
And all Israel from Dan even to Beer–sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Yhwh.
21 Továbbra is megjelent az Örökkévaló Sílóban, mert megnyilatkozott az Örökkévaló Sámuelnek Sílóban az Örökkévaló igéjével.
And Yhwh appeared again in Shiloh: for Yhwh revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of Yhwh.
