1 Királyok 1

1 Dávid király öreg lett, előhaladt a korban; betakarták őt ruhákkal, de nem melegedett meg.

Now, King David, was old, advanced in days, —and they covered him with clothes, but he gat no heat.

2 És mondták neki szolgái: Keressenek uram a király számára egy hajadon leányt, hogy álljon a király előtt és legyen neki ápolója; feküdjék öledben, hogy megmelegedjék uram a király.

Wherefore his servants said unto him—Let there be sought for my lord the king, a young woman—a virgin, so shall she stand before the king, that she may become his companion, —and she shall lie in thy bosom, and my lord the king shall get, heat.

3 És kerestek szép leányt Izraél egész határában, és találták a Súnémbeli Abíságot és elhozták őt a királynak.

So they sought a fair young woman, throughout all the bounds of Israel, —and found Abishag, the Shunammite, and brought her in, unto the king.

4 A leány pedig felette szép volt; a királynak ápolója lett és kiszolgálta őt, de a király nem ismerte meg.

Now, the young woman, was exceeding fair, —so she became unto the king a companion, and ministered unto him, but, the king, knew her not.

5 Adóníja pedig, Chaggít fia magasra tört, mondván: Én leszek király. És szerzett magának kocsikat és lovasokat, és ötven ember futott előtte.

And, Adonijah son of Haggith, exalted himself, saying—I, will be king. Therefore prepared he for himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.

6 S nem bántotta őt az atyja soha életében, hogy mondta volna: Miért cselekedtél így? Ő is igen szép alakú volt; ő pedig született Ábsálóm után.

Now his father had not displeased him all his days, by saying—Why, thus, hast thou done? Moreover also, he, was of exceeding handsome appearance, and, him, did his mother bear, after Absolom.

7 Voltak neki beszédei Jóábbal, Cerúja fiával és Ebjátár pappal; és pártjára álltak Adóníjának.

So then he had speech with Joab, son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest, —and they gave help, following Adonijah.

8 De Cádók pap, Benájáhú, Jehójádá fia és Nátán próféta, meg Simeí és Réi, meg Dávidnak a vitézei nem voltak Adóníjáhú mellett.

But, Zadok the priest, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men who belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.

9 És áldozott Adóníjáhú aprójószágot, marhát és hízlalt barmot a Zóchélet-kő mellett, mely a Rógél forrásnál van; és meghítta mind a testvéreit, a király fiait, meg mind a Jehúda embereit, a király szolgáit.

And Adonijah sacrificed sheep and oxen and heifers, near the stone of Zoheleth, which is beside En-rogel, —and invited all his brethren, sons of the king, and all the men of Judah, servants of the king;

10 De Nátán prófétát és Benájáhút, meg a vitézeket és testvérét Salamont, nem hitta meg.

but, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he invited not.

11 Ekkor szólt Nátán Bát-Sébához, Salamon anyjához, mondván: Nem hallottad-e, hogy király lett Adóníjáhú, Chaggít fia, és urunk Dávid nem tudja!

Then spake Nathan unto Bath-sheba mother of Solomon, saying—Hast thou not heard that Adonijah son of Haggith hath become king, and, our lord David, knoweth it not?

12 Most tehát jer, hadd adjak neked tanácsot s mentsd meg életedet és fiadnak Salamonnak életét.

Now, therefore, come; let me give thee counsel, I pray thee, —so shalt thou rescue thine own life, and the life of thy son, Solomon.

13 Eredj és menj be Dávid királyhoz és szólj hozzá: Nemde te, uram király, megesküdtél szolgálódnak, mondván: Bizony, Salamon fiad lesz király utánam és majd ő ül trónomon. Miért lett hát Adóníjáhú a király?

Go, and get thee in unto King David, and thou shalt say unto him—Didst not, thou thyself, my lord O king, swear unto thy handmaid, saying—Solomon thy son, shall become king after me, yea, he, shall sit upon my throne? Why, then, hath, Adonijah, become king?

14 Íme te még beszélsz ott a királlyal, és én bemegyek utánad és megtoldom szavaidat.

Lo! while thou art yet speaking there with the king, I also, will come in after thee, and confirm thy words.

15 Bement tehát Bát-Sébá a királyhoz a terembe, a király pedig igen öreg volt és a Súnémbeli Abíság kiszolgálta a királyt.

So Bath-sheba went in unto the king, into the chamber, now, the king, was very old, —and Abishag the Shunammite, was ministering unto the king.

16 Meghajolt Bát-Sébá és leborult a király előtt. Mondta a király: Mi a kívánságod?

And Bath-sheba bowed, and did homage unto the king, —and the king said—What aileth thee?

17 És mondta neki: Uram, te megesküdtél szolgálódnak az Örökkévalóra, Istenedre: bizony Salamon fiad király lesz utánam és majd ő ül trónomon.

And she said unto him—My lord, thou thyself, didst swear by Yahweh thy God, unto thy handmaid, Assuredly, Solomon thy son, shall become king after me, —yea, he, shall sit upon my throne.

18 Most pedig íme Adóníja lett a király, és ezt most, uram király, nem tudtad!

But, now, lo! Adonijah, hath become king; now, therefore, my lord, O king, thou knowest it not:

19 Áldozott ökröket, hízlalt barmot és aprójószágot sokat, és meghítta mind a királyfiakat, meg Ebjátár papot és Jóáb hadvezért, de Salamont a te szolgádat nem hítta meg.

and he hath sacrificed oxen and heifers and sheep, in abundance, and hath invited all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab general of the army, —but, Solomon thy servant, hath he not invited.

20 Te pedig uram király, egész Izraél szemei rajtad vannak, hogy tudtukra adjad, ki ül majd uramnak a királynak trónján ő utána.

Thou, therefore, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel, are upon thee, —to tell them, who shall sit upon the throne of my lord the king, after him.

21 És lészen, amint fekszik uram a király őseinél, akkor én és fiam Salamon bűnösek leszünk.

Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, then shall I and my son Solomon be counted, offenders.

22 És íme, ő még beszélt a királlyal és jött Nátán próféta.

And lo! while yet she was speaking with the king, Nathan the prophet, came in.

23 Jelentették a királynak, mondván: Itt van Nátán próféta! És bement a király elé és leborult a király előtt arcaival földre.

So they told the king, saying, Lo! Nathan the prophet! And, when he had come in before the king, he bowed himself down to the king with his face to the ground.

24 És szólt Nátán: Uram király, te mondtad-e, Adóníjáhú lesz a király utánam és ő ül majd a trónomon?

Then said Nathan—My lord, O king, hast, thou, said, Adonijah, shall become king after me, —yea, he, shall sit upon my throne?

25 Mert ma lement, áldozott ökröket, hízlalt barmot és aprójószágot sokat, és meghitta mind a királyfiakat, a hadvezéreket és Ebjátár papot: és íme ők esznek, isznak előtte és azt mondták: éljen Adóníjáhú király!

For he hath gone down to-day, and hath sacrificed oxen and heifers and sheep, in abundance, and hath invited all the sons of the king, and the generals of the army, and Abiathar the priest, and, there they are—eating and drinking before him, —and they have said—Long live King Adonijah!

26 De engem, a te szolgádat, meg Cádók papot és Benájáhút, Jehójádá fiát és Salamont, a te szolgádat nem hítta meg.

But, me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and Solomon thy servant, hath he not invited.

27 Avagy uram a király részéről történt ez a dolog, s nem tudattad volna szolgáddal, ki ül majd uramnak a királynak trónján ő utána?

If, of my lord the king, this thing had been brought to pass, then wouldest thou not have made known unto thy servant, who should sit upon the throne of my lord the king, after him?

28 Felelt Dávid király és mondta: Hívjátok hozzám Bát-Sébát! Bement a király elé és megállt a király előtt.

Then responded King David, and said, Call me Bath-sheba. So she came in before the king, and stood before the king.

29 Ekkor megesküdött a király és mondta: Él az Örökkévaló, a ki megváltotta lelkemet minden szorongástól –

And the king sware, and said, —By the life of Yahweh, who hath redeemed my life out of every strait,

30 bizony, amint megesküdtem neked az Örökkévalóra, Izraél Istenére, mondván: igenis fiad, Salamon lesz király utánam és ő ül majd trónomon helyettem, bizony akképpen cselekszem e mai napon.

even as I sware unto thee by Yahweh, God of Israel, saying, Assuredly, Solomon thy son, shall become king after me, yea, he, shall sit upon my throne, in my stead, even so, will I do this day.

31 Erre meghajtotta magát Bát-Sébá arccal a földre és leborult a király előtt; így szólt: Éljen uram Dávid király örökké!

Then Bath-sheba bowed with her face to the ground, and did homage unto the king, —and said—Let my lord, King David, live to times age-abiding!

32 Ekkor szólt Dávid király: Hívjátok ide Cádók papot, Nátán prófétát és Benájáhút, Jehójádá fiát! És bementek a király elé.

Then said King David—Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada. And they came in before the king.

33 Mondta nekik a király: Vegyétek magatok mellé uratok szolgáit, ültessétek fiamat Salamont az én öszvéremre és vigyétek őt le a Gíchónhoz.

Then said the king unto them—Take ye with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon the mule which pertaineth unto myself, —and bring him down unto Gihon;

34 És kenje őt ott föl Cádók pap meg Nátán próféta királyul Izraél fölé; erre fújjátok meg a harsonát és mondjátok: éljen Salamon király!

then shall Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there as king over Israel, —and ye shall blow with the horn, and say—Long live King Solomon!

35 S jöjjetek föl utána, ő meg jöjjön és üljön a trónomon és majd ő lesz király utánam, mert őt rendeltem, hogy fejedelem legyen Izraél és Jehúda fölött.

Then shall ye come up after him, and he shall enter, and sit upon my throne, yea, he, shall become king in my stead; even, him, have I charged to become leader, over Israel, and over Judah.

36 Felelt Benájáhú, Jehójádá fia a királynak és mondta: Ámen! Így szóljon az Örökkévaló, uramnak a királynak Istene!

Then did Benaiah son of Jehoiada make response unto the king, and say—Amen! so, say Yahweh, God of my lord the king.

37 Valamint volt az Örökkévaló urammal a királlyal, akképpen legyen Salamonnal és nagyobbá tegye trónját uramnak, Dávid királynak trónjánál.

As Yahweh hath been with my lord the king, so, let him he with Solomon, —and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord, King David.

38 Ekkor lement Cádók pap, meg Nátán próféta és Benájáhu, Jehójádá fia, meg a keréti és peléti, ültették Salamont Dávid király öszvérére és vezették őt a Gíchónhoz.

So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, with the Cherethites and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon the mule of King David, —and they escorted him to Gihon.

39 És vette Cádók pap az olajszarút a sátorból és fölkente Salamont, erre megfútták a harsonát és mondta az egész nép: Éljen Salamon király!

Then took Zadok the priest, the horn of oil out of the Tent, and anointed Solomon, —and they blew with a [ram’s] horn, and all the people said, Long live King Solomon!

40 És fölment az egész nép ő utána, és a nép sípolt sípokon és örvendett nagy örömmel; úgy, hogy meghasadt a föld hangjuktól.

And all the people came up after him, the people themselves also, playing with flutes, and rejoicing with great joy, —so that the earth rent with the sound of them.

41 És meghallotta Adóníjáhú meg mind a meghívottak, kik vele voltak, s ők éppen végeztek az evéssel; s midőn meghallotta Jóáb a harsona hangját, mondta: Miért e hangja a zajongó városnak?

And Adonijah, and all the guests who were with him, heard it, just as, they, had made an end of eating, —and, when Joab heard the sound of a horn, he said—Wherefore the noise of the city, in tumult?

42 Még ő beszélt és íme Jónátán, Ebjátár papnak a fia jött; és mondta Adoníjáhú: Jer, mert derék ember vagy és jót adsz hírül.

While yet he was speaking, lo! Jonathan son of Abiathar the priest, came in, —and Adonijah said—Come in, for, a worthy man, thou art, and, good tidings, dost thou bring.

43 Felelt Jónátán és mondta Adóníjáhúnak: Igenis, urunk Dávid király Salamont tette királlyá.

But Jonathan responded and said to Adonijah, —Of a truth, our lord, King David, hath made, Solomon, king.

44 Küldte ugyanis vele a király Cádók papot, Nátán prófétát, Benájáhút, Jehójádá fiát, meg a kerétit és a pelétit; és ültették őt a király öszvérére.

And the king hath sent with him—Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, with the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, —and they have caused him to ride upon the mule of the king;

45 Erre fölkenték őt Cádók pap és Nátán próféta királlyá a Gíchón mellett és fölvonultak onnan örvendve, úgy, hogy zajgott belé a város: ez az a hang, melyet hallottatok.

and Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king, in Gihon, and they went up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again, —That, is the noise ye have heard.

46 Rá is ült Salamon a királyi trónra;

Moreover also, Solomon hath taken his seat upon the throne of the kingdom.

47 el is jöttek a király szolgái, hogy áldják urunkat, Dávid királyt, mondván: tegye Isten jelesebbé Salamon nevét a te nevednél és tegye nagyobbá az ő trónját a te trónodnál; ekkor leborult a király a fekvőhelyen.

Moreover also, the servants of the king have been in, to bless our lord King David, saying—Thy God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne, —And the king bowed himself upon his bed.

48 Meg szólt is a király ekképpen: áldva legyen az Örökkévaló, Izraél Istene, aki adott ma olyat, ki trónomon ül, és szemeim látják.

Moreover also, thus and thus, hath said the king, —Blessed be Yahweh, God of Israel, who hath given, to-day, one to sit upon my throne, mine own eyes also beholding it.

49 Ekkor megrémültek és fölkeltek Adóníjáhúnak mind a meghívottjai és elmentek kiki útjára.

Then trembled and rose up, all Adonijah’s guests, —and departed, every man his own way.

50 Adóníjáhú pedig félt Salamontól; fölkelt, elment éa megragadta az oltár szarvait.

Adonijah also, feared because of Solomon, —and rose and went, and caught hold of the horns of the altar.

51 És jelentették Salamonnak, mondván: Íme, Adóníjáhú fél Salamon királytól; és íme megfogta az oltár szarvait, mondván: esküdjék meg e napon Salamon király nekem, hogy nem öli meg szolgáját a karddal.

And it was told Solomon, saying, Lo! Adonijah, feareth King Solomon, —lo! therefore, he hath laid hold of the horns of the altar, saying, Let King Solomon swear unto me at once that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.

52 Mondta Salamon: Ha derék emberré lesz, egy hajaszála sem esik a földre; de ha valami rosszaság találtatik rajta, meg fog halni.

Then said Solomon, If he will be a man of worth, there shall not one hair of him fall to the earth, —but, if mischief be found in him, then shall he die.

53 És küldött Salamon király, és lehozták őt az oltárról; odajött és leborult Salamon király előtt, s mondta neki Salamon: Menj házadba.

So King Solomon sent, and brought him down from the altar, and he came in, and bowed himself down to King Solomon, —and Solomon said unto him—Go to thine own house.
