भजन संहिता 85

1 १ प्रधान बजानेवाले के लिये: कोरहवंशियों का भजन हे यहोवा, तू अपने देश पर प्रसन्न हुआ, याकूब को बँधुवाई से लौटा ले आया है।

Yahweh, you have been kind to [us people who live in] this land; you have enabled [us] Israeli people to become prosperous again.

2 २ तूने अपनी प्रजा के अधर्म को क्षमा किया है; और उसके सब पापों को ढाँप दिया है। (सेला)

You forgave [us], your people, for the sins that we had committed; you pardoned [us] for all our sins [DOU].

3 ३ तूने अपने रोष को शान्त किया है; और अपने भड़के हुए कोप को दूर किया है।

You stopped being angry [with us] and turned away from severely punishing [us].

4 ४ हे हमारे उद्धारकर्ता परमेश्वर, हमको पुनः स्थापित कर, और अपना क्रोध हम पर से दूर कर!

Now, God, the one who saves/rescues us, (restore us/make us prosperous again) and stop being angry with us!

5 ५ क्या तू हम पर सदा कोपित रहेगा? क्या तू पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक कोप करता रहेगा?

(Will you continue to be angry with us forever?/Please do not continue to be angry with us forever.) [DOU, RHQ]

6 ६ क्या तू हमको फिर न जिलाएगा, कि तेरी प्रजा तुझ में आनन्द करे?

Please enable us [RHQ] to prosper again in order that [we], your people, will rejoice about what you [have done for us].

7 ७ हे यहोवा अपनी करुणा हमें दिखा, और तू हमारा उद्धार कर।

Yahweh, by rescuing us [from our troubles/difficulties], show us that you faithfully love us.

8 ८ मैं कान लगाए रहूँगा कि परमेश्वर यहोवा क्या कहता है, वह तो अपनी प्रजा से जो उसके भक्त है, शान्ति की बातें कहेगा; परन्तु वे फिरके मूर्खता न करने लगें।

I want to listen to what Yahweh [our] God says, because he promises/says that he will enable [us], his people, to live peacefully, if we do not return to doing foolish things.

9 ९ निश्चय उसके डरवैयों के उद्धार का समय निकट है, तब हमारे देश में महिमा का निवास होगा।

He is surely ready to save/rescue those who revere him, in order that [his] glory/splendor will be seen in our land.

10 १० करुणा और सच्चाई आपस में मिल गई हैं; धर्म और मेल ने आपस में चुम्बन किया हैं।

[When that happens], he will both faithfully love us and faithfully [do for us what he promised to do] [PRS]; and we will act/behave righteously, and he will give us peace, which will be like a kiss that he gives us.

11 ११ पृथ्वी में से सच्चाई उगती और स्वर्ग से धर्म झुकता है।

Here on earth, we will (be loyal to/continually believe in) God, and from heaven, God will act justly/fairly [toward us].

12 १२ हाँ, यहोवा उत्तम वस्तुएँ देगा, और हमारी भूमि अपनी उपज देगी।

Yes, Yahweh will do good things [for us], and there will be great harvests in our land.

13 १३ धर्म उसके आगे-आगे चलेगा, और उसके पाँवों के चिन्हों को हमारे लिये मार्ग बनाएगा।

[Yahweh always acts] righteously [PRS, MET]; he acts righteously wherever he goes.
