भजन संहिता 8

1 १ प्रधान बजानेवाले के लिये गित्तीत की राग पर दाऊद का भजन हे यहोवा हमारे प्रभु, तेरा नाम सारी पृथ्वी पर क्या ही प्रतापमय है! तूने अपना वैभव स्वर्ग पर दिखाया है।

“To the chief musician upon Gittith, a psalm of David.” O Eternal One our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the earth! thou who hast set thy majesty above the heavens.

2 २ तूने अपने बैरियों के कारण बच्चों और शिशुओं के द्वारा अपनी प्रशंसा की है, ताकि तू शत्रु और पलटा लेनेवालों को रोक रखे।

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou founded [thy] might, because of thy opponents, that thou mightest bring to silence the enemy and him that seeketh vengeance.

3 ३ जब मैं आकाश को, जो तेरे हाथों का कार्य है, और चन्द्रमा और तरागण को जो तूने नियुक्त किए हैं, देखता हूँ;

When I behold thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast established: —

4 ४ तो फिर मनुष्य क्या है कि तू उसका स्मरण रखे, और आदमी क्या है कि तू उसकी सुधि ले?

What is the mortal, that thou rememberest him? and the son of man, that thou thinkest of him:

5 ५ क्योंकि तूने उसको परमेश्वर से थोड़ा ही कम बनाया है, और महिमा और प्रताप का मुकुट उसके सिर पर रखा है।

Yet thou hast made him but a little less than angels, and hast crowned him with honor and glory.

6 ६ तूने उसे अपने हाथों के कार्यों पर प्रभुता दी है; तूने उसके पाँव तले सब कुछ कर दिया है।

Thou hast given him dominion over the works of thy hands; every thing hast thou placed beneath his feet:

7 ७ सब भेड़-बकरी और गाय-बैल और जितने वन पशु हैं,

Flocks and herds altogether, and also the beasts of the field;

8 ८ आकाश के पक्षी और समुद्र की मछलियाँ, और जितने जीव-जन्तु समुद्रों में चलते फिरते हैं।

The birds of heaven, and the fishes of the sea, whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

9 ९ हे यहोवा, हे हमारे प्रभु, तेरा नाम सारी पृथ्वी पर क्या ही प्रतापमय है।

O Eternal One our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the earth!
