भजन संहिता 74

1 १ आसाप का मश्कील हे परमेश्वर, तूने हमें क्यों सदा के लिये छोड़ दिया है? तेरी कोपाग्नि का धुआँ तेरी चराई की भेड़ों के विरुद्ध क्यों उठ रहा है?

Maschil of Asaph. O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

2 २ अपनी मण्डली को जिसे तूने प्राचीनकाल में मोल लिया था, और अपने निज भाग का गोत्र होने के लिये छुड़ा लिया था, और इस सिय्योन पर्वत को भी, जिस पर तूने वास किया था, स्मरण कर!

Remember thy congregation, which thou hast gotten of old, Which thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of thine inheritance; [And] mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

3 ३ अपने डग अनन्त खण्डहरों की ओर बढ़ा; अर्थात् उन सब बुराइयों की ओर जो शत्रु ने पवित्रस्थान में की हैं।

Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual ruins, All the evil that the enemy hath done in the sanctuary.

4 ४ तेरे द्रोही तेरे पवित्रस्थान के बीच गर्जते रहे हैं; उन्होंने अपनी ही ध्वजाओं को चिन्ह ठहराया है।

Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of thine assembly; They have set up their ensigns for signs.

5 ५ वे उन मनुष्यों के समान थे जो घने वन के पेड़ों पर कुल्हाड़े चलाते हैं;

They seemed as men that lifted up Axes upon a thicket of trees.

6 ६ और अब वे उस भवन की नक्काशी को, कुल्हाड़ियों और हथौड़ों से बिल्कुल तोड़े डालते हैं।

And now all the carved work thereof They break down with hatchet and hammers.

7 ७ उन्होंने तेरे पवित्रस्थान को आग में झोंक दिया है, और तेरे नाम के निवास को गिराकर अशुद्ध कर डाला है।

They have set thy sanctuary on fire; They have profaned the dwelling-place of thy name [by casting it] to the ground.

8 ८ उन्होंने मन में कहा है, “हम इनको एकदम दबा दें।” उन्होंने इस देश में परमेश्वर के सब सभास्थानों को फूँक दिया है।

They said in their heart, Let us make havoc of them altogether: They have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

9 ९ हमको अब परमेश्वर के कोई अद्भुत चिन्ह दिखाई नहीं देते; अब कोई नबी नहीं रहा, न हमारे बीच कोई जानता है कि कब तक यह दशा रहेगी।

We see not our signs: There is no more any prophet; Neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

10 १० हे परमेश्वर द्रोही कब तक नामधराई करता रहेगा? क्या शत्रु, तेरे नाम की निन्दा सदा करता रहेगा?

How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 ११ तू अपना दाहिना हाथ क्यों रोके रहता है? उसे अपने पंजर से निकालकर उनका अन्त कर दे।

Why drawest thou back thy hand, even thy right hand? [Pluck it] out of thy bosom [and] consume [them].

12 १२ परमेश्वर तो प्राचीनकाल से मेरा राजा है, वह पृथ्वी पर उद्धार के काम करता आया है।

Yet God is my King of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 १३ तूने तो अपनी शक्ति से समुद्र को दो भागकर दिया; तूने तो समुद्री अजगरों के सिरों को फोड़ दिया।

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.

14 १४ तूने तो लिव्यातान के सिरों को टुकड़े-टुकड़े करके जंगली जन्तुओं को खिला दिए।

Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces; Thou gavest him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 १५ तूने तो सोता खोलकर जल की धारा बहाई, तूने तो बारहमासी नदियों को सूखा डाला।

Thou didst cleave fountain and flood: Thou driedst up mighty rivers.

16 १६ दिन तेरा है रात भी तेरी है; सूर्य और चन्द्रमा को तूने स्थिर किया है।

The day is thine, the night also is thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 १७ तूने तो पृथ्वी की सब सीमाओं को ठहराया; धूपकाल और सर्दी दोनों तूने ठहराए हैं।

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: Thou hast made summer and winter.

18 १८ हे यहोवा, स्मरण कर कि शत्रु ने नामधराई की है, और मूर्ख लोगों ने तेरे नाम की निन्दा की है।

Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah, And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name.

19 १९ अपनी पिण्डुकी के प्राण को वन पशु के वश में न कर; अपने दीन जनों को सदा के लिये न भूल

Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.

20 २० अपनी वाचा की सुधि ले; क्योंकि देश के अंधेरे स्थान अत्याचार के घरों से भरपूर हैं।

Have respect unto the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.

21 २१ पिसे हुए जन को अपमानित होकर लौटना न पड़े; दीन और दरिद्र लोग तेरे नाम की स्तुति करने पाएँ।

Oh let not the oppressed return ashamed: Let the poor and needy praise thy name.

22 २२ हे परमेश्वर, उठ, अपना मुकद्दमा आप ही लड़; तेरी जो नामधराई मूर्ख द्वारा दिन भर होती रहती है, उसे स्मरण कर।

Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day.

23 २३ अपने द्रोहियों का बड़ा बोल न भूल, तेरे विरोधियों का कोलाहल तो निरन्तर उठता रहता है।

Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: The tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.
