भजन संहिता 33

1 १ हे धर्मियों, यहोवा के कारण जयजयकार करो। क्योंकि धर्मी लोगों को स्तुति करना शोभा देता है।

Be joyful, O ye righteous, in the Lord; [for] unto the righteous praise is comely.

2 २ वीणा बजा-बजाकर यहोवा का धन्यवाद करो, दस तारवाली सारंगी बजा-बजाकर उसका भजन गाओ।

Give thanks unto the Lord with the harp: with the ten-stringed psaltery do ye sing [praises] unto him.

3 ३ उसके लिये नया गीत गाओ, जयजयकार के साथ भली भाँति बजाओ।

Sing unto him a new song; play beautifully amidst a triumphant shout.

4 ४ क्योंकि यहोवा का वचन सीधा है; और उसका सब काम निष्पक्षता से होता है।

For the word of the Lord is upright; and all his works [are done] in truth.

5 ५ वह धार्मिकता और न्याय से प्रीति रखता है; यहोवा की करुणा से पृथ्वी भरपूर है।

He loveth righteousness and justice: the earth is full of the kindness of the Lord.

6 ६ आकाशमण्डल यहोवा के वचन से, और उसके सारे गण उसके मुँह की श्वास से बने।

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and by the breath of his mouth all their host.

7 ७ वह समुद्र का जल ढेर के समान इकट्ठा करता; वह गहरे सागर को अपने भण्डार में रखता है।

He gathereth together like heaps the waters of the sea: he layeth up in store-houses the depths [of the sea].

8 ८ सारी पृथ्वी के लोग यहोवा से डरें, जगत के सब निवासी उसका भय मानें!

Let all the earth fear the Lord: of him stand in awe all the inhabitants of the world.

9 ९ क्योंकि जब उसने कहा, तब हो गया; जब उसने आज्ञा दी, तब वास्तव में वैसा ही हो गया।

For he spoke, and it came into being: he commanded, and it stood fast.

10 १० यहोवा जाति-जाति की युक्ति को व्यर्थ कर देता है; वह देश-देश के लोगों की कल्पनाओं को निष्फल करता है।

The Lord frustrateth the resolves of the nations: he bringeth to nought the thoughts of the people.

11 ११ यहोवा की योजना सर्वदा स्थिर रहेगी, उसके मन की कल्पनाएँ पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक बनी रहेंगी।

The counsel of the Lord will stand for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.

12 १२ क्या ही धन्य है वह जाति जिसका परमेश्वर यहोवा है, और वह समाज जिसे उसने अपना निज भाग होने के लिये चुन लिया हो!

Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he hath chosen for himself as a heritage.

13 १३ यहोवा स्वर्ग से दृष्टि करता है, वह सब मनुष्यों को निहारता है;

The Lord looketh from heaven; he seeth all the sons of men.

14 १४ अपने निवास के स्थान से वह पृथ्वी के सब रहनेवालों को देखता है,

From the place of his habitation he directeth his view upon all the inhabitants of the earth;

15 १५ वही जो उन सभी के हृदयों को गढ़ता, और उनके सब कामों का विचार करता है।

He fashioneth their hearts altogether; he hath regard to all their works.

16 १६ कोई ऐसा राजा नहीं, जो सेना की बहुतायत के कारण बच सके; वीर अपनी बड़ी शक्ति के कारण छूट नहीं जाता।

The king is not saved by the multitude of an army: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

17 १७ विजय पाने के लिए घोड़ा व्यर्थ सुरक्षा है, वह अपने बड़े बल के द्वारा किसी को नहीं बचा सकता है।

Vain is the horse for victory: nor shall he deliver any by the greatness of his strength.

18 १८ देखो, यहोवा की दृष्टि उसके डरवैयों पर और उन पर जो उसकी करुणा की आशा रखते हैं, बनी रहती है,

Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those that fear him, upon those that hope for his kindness.

19 १९ कि वह उनके प्राण को मृत्यु से बचाए, और अकाल के समय उनको जीवित रखे।

To deliver from death their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.

20 २० हम यहोवा की बाट जोहते हैं; वह हमारा सहायक और हमारी ढाल ठहरा है।

Our soul waiteth for the Lord: our help and our shield is he.

21 २१ हमारा हृदय उसके कारण आनन्दित होगा, क्योंकि हमने उसके पवित्र नाम का भरोसा रखा है।

For in him shall our heart rejoice: because in his holy name have we trusted.

22 २२ हे यहोवा, जैसी तुझ पर हमारी आशा है, वैसी ही तेरी करुणा भी हम पर हो।

Let thy kindness, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.
