भजन संहिता 20

1 १ प्रधान बजानेवाले के लिये दाऊद का भजन संकट के दिन यहोवा तेरी सुन ले! याकूब के परमेश्वर का नाम तुझे ऊँचे स्थान पर नियुक्त करे!

“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;

2 २ वह पवित्रस्थान से तेरी सहायता करे, और सिय्योन से तुझे सम्भाल ले!

May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;

3 ३ वह तेरे सब भेंटों को स्मरण करे, और तेरे होमबलि को ग्रहण करे। (सेला)

May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)

4 ४ वह तेरे मन की इच्छा को पूरी करे, और तेरी सारी युक्ति को सफल करे!

May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.

5 ५ तब हम तेरे उद्धार के कारण ऊँचे स्वर से हर्षित होकर गाएँगे, और अपने परमेश्वर के नाम से झण्डे खड़े करेंगे। यहोवा तेरे सारे निवेदन स्वीकार करे।

We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.

6 ६ अब मैं जान गया कि यहोवा अपने अभिषिक्त को बचाएगा; वह अपने पवित्र स्वर्ग से, अपने दाहिने हाथ के उद्धार के सामर्थ्य से, उसको उत्तर देगा।

Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 ७ किसी को रथों पर, और किसी को घोड़ों पर भरोसा है, परन्तु हम तो अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा ही का नाम लेंगे।

Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.

8 ८ वे तो झुक गए और गिर पड़े: परन्तु हम उठे और सीधे खड़े हैं।

They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.

9 ९ हे यहोवा, राजा को छुड़ा; जब हम तुझे पुकारें तब हमारी सहायता कर।

O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].
