भजन संहिता 147

1 १ यहोवा की स्तुति करो! क्योंकि अपने परमेश्वर का भजन गाना अच्छा है; क्योंकि वह मनभावना है, उसकी स्तुति करना उचित है।

Hallelujah; for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is comely; [him] becometh praise.

2 २ यहोवा यरूशलेम को फिर बसा रहा है; वह निकाले हुए इस्राएलियों को इकट्ठा कर रहा है।

The Lord buildeth up Jerusalem: the outcasts of Israel will he gather together;

3 ३ वह खेदित मनवालों को चंगा करता है, और उनके घाव पर मरहम-पट्टी बाँधता है।

He that healeth the broken-hearted, and bindeth up their hurts;

4 ४ वह तारों को गिनता, और उनमें से एक-एक का नाम रखता है।

Who counteth the number of the stars; who calleth them all by [their] names.

5 ५ हमारा प्रभु महान और अति सामर्थी है; उसकी बुद्धि अपरम्पार है।

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power: his understanding is immeasurable.

6 ६ यहोवा नम्र लोगों को सम्भालता है, और दुष्टों को भूमि पर गिरा देता है।

The Lord helpeth up the meek: he bringeth down the wicked to the ground.

7 ७ धन्यवाद करते हुए यहोवा का गीत गाओ; वीणा बजाते हुए हमारे परमेश्वर का भजन गाओ।

Lift up a song unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises unto our God with the harp;

8 ८ वह आकाश को मेघों से भर देता है, और पृथ्वी के लिये मेंह को तैयार करता है, और पहाड़ों पर घास उगाता है।

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who causeth grass to grow upon the mountains;

9 ९ वह पशुओं को और कौवे के बच्चों को जो पुकारते हैं, आहार देता है।

Who giveth to the beast its food, to the young ravens which cry.

10 १० न तो वह घोड़े के बल को चाहता है, और न पुरुष के बलवन्त पैरों से प्रसन्न होता है;

Not in the strength of the horse hath he delight: nor in the [swiftness of the] legs of man taketh he pleasure.

11 ११ यहोवा अपने डरवैयों ही से प्रसन्न होता है, अर्थात् उनसे जो उसकी करुणा पर आशा लगाए रहते हैं।

The Lord taketh pleasure in those that fear him, that wait for his kindness.

12 १२ हे यरूशलेम, यहोवा की प्रशंसा कर! हे सिय्योन, अपने परमेश्वर की स्तुति कर!

Glorify, O Jerusalem, the Lord: praise thy God, O Zion.

13 १३ क्योंकि उसने तेरे फाटकों के खम्भों को दृढ़ किया है; और तेरी सन्तानों को आशीष दी है।

For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children in the midst of thee;

14 १४ वह तेरी सीमा में शान्ति देता है, और तुझको उत्तम से उत्तम गेहूँ से तृप्त करता है।

He who bestoweth peace in thy borders, who satisfieth thee with the best of wheat;

15 १५ वह पृथ्वी पर अपनी आज्ञा का प्रचार करता है, उसका वचन अति वेग से दौड़ता है।

He who sendeth forth his decree unto the earth: how swiftly speedeth his word along!

16 १६ वह ऊन के समान हिम को गिराता है, और राख के समान पाला बिखेरता है।

He who dispenseth snow like wool; who streweth about the hoarfrost like ashes;

17 १७ वह बर्फ के टुकड़े गिराता है, उसकी की हुई ठण्ड को कौन सह सकता है?

He who casteth down his ice like pieces: before his cold who can stand?

18 १८ वह आज्ञा देकर उन्हें गलाता है; वह वायु बहाता है, तब जल बहने लगता है।

He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and waters run along.

19 १९ वह याकूब को अपना वचन, और इस्राएल को अपनी विधियाँ और नियम बताता है।

He declareth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances unto Israel.

20 २० किसी और जाति से उसने ऐसा बर्ताव नहीं किया; और उसके नियमों को औरों ने नहीं जाना। यहोवा की स्तुति करो।

He hath not done so unto any nation: and [his] ordinances— these they know not. Hallelujah.
