भजन संहिता 124

1 १ दाऊद की यात्रा का गीत इस्राएल यह कहे, कि यदि हमारी ओर यहोवा न होता,

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up. By David.” If the LORD had not been for us, Now may Israel say,

2 २ यदि यहोवा उस समय हमारी ओर न होता जब मनुष्यों ने हम पर चढ़ाई की,

If the LORD had not been for us, When men rose up against us,

3 ३ तो वे हमको उसी समय जीवित निगल जाते, जब उनका क्रोध हम पर भड़का था,

Then had they swallowed us up alive, When their wrath burned against us;

4 ४ हम उसी समय जल में डूब जाते और धारा में बह जाते;

Then the waters had overwhelmed us; The stream had gone over our soul;

5 ५ उमड़ते जल में हम उसी समय ही बह जाते।

The proud waters had gone over our soul.

6 ६ धन्य है यहोवा, जिसने हमको उनके दाँतों तले जाने न दिया!

Blessed be the LORD, Who hath not given us a prey to their teeth!

7 ७ हमारा जीव पक्षी के समान चिड़ीमार के जाल से छूट गया; जाल फट गया और हम बच निकले!

We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowler; The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

8 ८ यहोवा जो आकाश और पृथ्वी का कर्ता है, हमारी सहायता उसी के नाम से होती है।

Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
