भजन संहिता 114

1 १ जब इस्राएल ने मिस्र से, अर्थात् याकूब के घराने ने अन्य भाषावालों के मध्य से कूच किया,

At the time of the exodus of Israel from Egypt, when the descendants of Jacob left that foreign country,

2 २ तब यहूदा यहोवा का पवित्रस्थान और इस्राएल उसके राज्य के लोग हो गए।

the land of Judah became the Lord's sanctuary, Israel his kingdom.

3 ३ समुद्र देखकर भागा, यरदन नदी उलटी बही।

The Red Sea saw them and ran away; the Jordan River retreated.

4 ४ पहाड़ मेढ़ों के समान उछलने लगे, और पहाड़ियाँ भेड़-बकरियों के बच्चों के समान उछलने लगीं।

Mountains jumped in fright like rams, hills startled like lambs.

5 ५ हे समुद्र, तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू भागा? और हे यरदन तुझे क्या हुआ कि तू उलटी बही?

Red Sea—why did you run away? Jordan River—why did you retreat?

6 ६ हे पहाड़ों, तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़ों के समान, और हे पहाड़ियों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़-बकरियों के बच्चों के समान उछलीं?

Mountains—why did you jump in fright? Hills—why did you startle like lambs?

7 ७ हे पृथ्वी प्रभु के सामने, हाँ, याकूब के परमेश्वर के सामने थरथरा।

Earth, tremble in the presence of the Lord, tremble in the presence of the God of Jacob!

8 ८ वह चट्टान को जल का ताल, चकमक के पत्थर को जल का सोता बना डालता है।

He is the one who turned the rock into a pool of water; making water flow from the hard rock.
