नीतिवचन 8

1 १ क्या बुद्धि नहीं पुकारती है? क्या समझ ऊँचे शब्द से नहीं बोलती है?

¿ Not wisdom does she call out and understanding does she give forth? voice her.

2 २ बुद्धि तो मार्ग के ऊँचे स्थानों पर, और चौराहों में खड़ी होती है;

At [the] top of [the] heights on [the] way between [the] pathways she stations herself.

3 ३ फाटकों के पास नगर के पैठाव में, और द्वारों ही में वह ऊँचे स्वर से कहती है,

To [the] side of [the] gates to [the] opening of [the] town [the] entrance of [the] doorways they cry aloud.

4 ४ “हे लोगों, मैं तुम को पुकारती हूँ, और मेरी बातें सब मनुष्यों के लिये हैं।

To you O people I call and voice my [is] to [the] children of humankind.

5 ५ हे भोलों, चतुराई सीखो; और हे मूर्खों, अपने मन में समझ लो

Understand O naive people prudence and O fools understand heart.

6 ६ सुनो, क्योंकि मैं उत्तम बातें कहूँगी, और जब मुँह खोलूँगी, तब उससे सीधी बातें निकलेंगी;

Listen for princely things I will speak and [the] utterance of lips my [will be] uprightness.

7 ७ क्योंकि मुझसे सच्चाई की बातों का वर्णन होगा; दुष्टता की बातों से मुझ को घृणा आती है।

For truth it will utter palate my and [is] an abomination of lips my wickedness.

8 ८ मेरे मुँह की सब बातें धर्म की होती हैं, उनमें से कोई टेढ़ी या उलट-फेर की बात नहीं निकलती है।

[are] Righteousness all [the] words of mouth my there not among them [is] a twisted [thing] and a distorted [thing].

9 ९ समझवाले के लिये वे सब सहज, और ज्ञान प्राप्त करनेवालों के लिये अति सीधी हैं।

All of them [are] right to the discerning [person] and upright to [those who] find knowledge.

10 १० चाँदी नहीं, मेरी शिक्षा ही को चुन लो, और उत्तम कुन्दन से बढ़कर ज्ञान को ग्रहण करो।

Take discipline my and may not [you take] silver and knowledge more than gold chosen.

11 ११ क्योंकि बुद्धि, बहुमूल्य रत्नों से भी अच्छी है, और सारी मनभावनी वस्तुओं में कोई भी उसके तुल्य नहीं है।

For [is] good wisdom more than jewels and all pleasures not they compare with it.

12 १२ मैं जो बुद्धि हूँ, और मैं चतुराई में वास करती हूँ, और ज्ञान और विवेक को प्राप्त करती हूँ।

I wisdom I dwell prudence and knowledge of discretion I find.

13 १३ यहोवा का भय मानना बुराई से बैर रखना है। घमण्ड और अहंकार, बुरी चाल से, और उलट-फेर की बात से मैं बैर रखती हूँ।

[the] fear of Yahweh [is] to hate evil pride and arrogance - and a way evil and a mouth of perversities I hate.

14 १४ उत्तम युक्ति, और खरी बुद्धि मेरी ही है, मुझ में समझ है, और पराक्रम भी मेरा है।

[belong] to Me counsel and sound wisdom I [am] understanding [belongs] to me strength.

15 १५ मेरे ही द्वारा राजा राज्य करते हैं, और अधिकारी धर्म से शासन करते हैं;

By me kings they reign and rulers they enact righteousness.

16 १६ मेरे ही द्वारा राजा, हाकिम और पृथ्वी के सब न्यायी शासन करते हैं।

By me princes they rule and noble [people] all judges of (righteousness. *L(H)*)

17 १७ जो मुझसे प्रेम रखते हैं, उनसे मैं भी प्रेम रखती हूँ, और जो मुझ को यत्न से तड़के उठकर खोजते हैं, वे मुझे पाते हैं।

I ([those who] love me *Q(K)*) I love and [those who] earnestly seek me they find me.

18 १८ धन और प्रतिष्ठा, शाश्‍वत धन और धार्मिकता मेरे पास हैं।

Wealth and honor [are] with me wealth enduring and righteousness.

19 १९ मेरा फल शुद्ध सोने से, वरन् कुन्दन से भी उत्तम है, और मेरी उपज उत्तम चाँदी से अच्छी है।

[is] good Fruit my more than gold and more than pure gold and gain my more than silver chosen.

20 २० मैं धर्म के मार्ग में, और न्याय की डगरों के बीच में चलती हूँ,

In [the] path of righteousness I walk in [the] midst of [the] pathways of justice.

21 २१ जिससे मैं अपने प्रेमियों को धन-सम्पत्ति का भागी करूँ, और उनके भण्डारों को भर दूँ।

To give as an inheritance [those who] love me - substance and treasuries their I fill.

22 २२ “यहोवा ने मुझे काम करने के आरम्भ में, वरन् अपने प्राचीनकाल के कामों से भी पहले उत्पन्न किया।

Yahweh he created me [the] beginning of way his [the] beginning of works his from then.

23 २३ मैं सदा से वरन् आदि ही से पृथ्वी की सृष्टि से पहले ही से ठहराई गई हूँ।

From long ago I was installed from [the] beginning from [the] beginnings of [the] earth.

24 २४ जब न तो गहरा सागर था, और न जल के सोते थे, तब ही से मैं उत्पन्न हुई।

When there not [were] [the] deeps I was brought forth when there not [were] springs abounding of water.

25 २५ जब पहाड़ और पहाड़ियाँ स्थिर न की गई थीं, तब ही से मैं उत्पन्न हुई।

Before mountains they were planted before [the] hills I was brought forth.

26 २६ जब यहोवा ने न तो पृथ्वी और न मैदान, न जगत की धूलि के परमाणु बनाए थे, इनसे पहले मैं उत्पन्न हुई।

Until not he had made [the] earth and [the] open places and [the] first of [the] dusts of [the] world.

27 २७ जब उसने आकाश को स्थिर किया, तब मैं वहाँ थी, जब उसने गहरे सागर के ऊपर आकाशमण्डल ठहराया,

When established he [the] heavens [was] there I when marked out he a circle on [the] surface of [the] deep.

28 २८ जब उसने आकाशमण्डल को ऊपर से स्थिर किया, और गहरे सागर के सोते फूटने लगे,

When made firm he [the] clouds above when became strong [the] springs of [the] deep.

29 २९ जब उसने समुद्र की सीमा ठहराई, कि जल उसकी आज्ञा का उल्लंघन न कर सके, और जब वह पृथ्वी की नींव की डोरी लगाता था,

When set he for the sea - limit its and [the] waters not they will transgress mouth his when marked out he [the] foundations of [the] earth.

30 ३० तब मैं प्रधान कारीगर के समान उसके पास थी; और प्रतिदिन मैं उसकी प्रसन्नता थी, और हर समय उसके सामने आनन्दित रहती थी।

And I was beside him an artisan and I was delight day - day playing before him at every time.

31 ३१ मैं उसकी बसाई हुई पृथ्वी से प्रसन्न थी और मेरा सुख मनुष्यों की संगति से होता था।

Playing in [the] world of earth his and delight my [were] with [the] children of humankind.

32 ३२ “इसलिए अब हे मेरे पुत्रों, मेरी सुनो; क्या ही धन्य हैं वे जो मेरे मार्ग को पकड़े रहते हैं।

And therefore O children listen to me and how blessed! [are those who] ways my they observe.

33 ३३ शिक्षा को सुनो, और बुद्धिमान हो जाओ, उसको अनसुना न करो।

Listen to correction and act wisely and may not you neglect [it].

34 ३४ क्या ही धन्य है वह मनुष्य जो मेरी सुनता, वरन् मेरी डेवढ़ी पर प्रतिदिन खड़ा रहता, और मेरे द्वारों के खम्भों के पास दृष्टि लगाए रहता है।

How blessed! [is] a person [who] listens to me by keeping watch at doors my day - day by watching [the] doorposts of doorways my.

35 ३५ क्योंकि जो मुझे पाता है, वह जीवन को पाता है, और यहोवा उससे प्रसन्न होता है।

For [one who] finds me (he finds *Q(K)*) life and he obtained favor from Yahweh.

36 ३६ परन्तु जो मुझे ढूँढ़ने में विफल होता है, वह अपने ही पर उपद्रव करता है; जितने मुझसे बैर रखते, वे मृत्यु से प्रीति रखते हैं।”

And [one who] misses me [is] doing wrong to self his all [those who] hate me they love death.
