लूका 15
THEN drew nigh unto him all the tax-farmers and the sinners to hear him.
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man entertains sinners, and eateth with them.
Then spake he unto them this parable, saying,
4 ४ “तुम में से कौन है जिसकी सौ भेड़ें हों, और उनमें से एक खो जाए तो निन्यानवे को मैदान में छोड़कर, उस खोई हुई को जब तक मिल न जाए खोजता न रहे?
What man is there of you, possessing an hundred sheep, though he lose but one of them, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
and when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 ६ और घर में आकर मित्रों और पड़ोसियों को इकट्ठे करके कहता है, ‘मेरे साथ आनन्द करो, क्योंकि मेरी खोई हुई भेड़ मिल गई है।’
And coming home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Congratulate me; for I have found that sheep of mine which was lost.
7 ७ मैं तुम से कहता हूँ; कि इसी रीति से एक मन फिरानेवाले पापी के विषय में भी स्वर्ग में इतना ही आनन्द होगा, जितना कि निन्यानवे ऐसे धर्मियों के विषय नहीं होता, जिन्हें मन फिराने की आवश्यकता नहीं।
I tell you, that just so will there be joy in heaven over one repentant sinner, more than over ninety-nine righteous persons, who hold not their need of repentance.
8 ८ “या कौन ऐसी स्त्री होगी, जिसके पास दस चाँदी के सिक्के हों, और उनमें से एक खो जाए; तो वह दीया जलाकर और घर झाड़-बुहारकर जब तक मिल न जाए, जी लगाकर खोजती न रहे?
Or what woman having ten pieces of silver coin, if she lose one of them, doth she not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and make diligent search until she find it?
9 ९ और जब मिल जाता है, तो वह अपने सखियों और पड़ोसिनों को इकट्ठा करके कहती है, कि ‘मेरे साथ आनन्द करो, क्योंकि मेरा खोया हुआ सिक्का मिल गया है।’
And having found it, she calleth her female friends and neighbours together, saying, Congratulate me; for I have found the silver piece I had lost.
10 १० मैं तुम से कहता हूँ; कि इसी रीति से एक मन फिरानेवाले पापी के विषय में परमेश्वर के स्वर्गदूतों के सामने आनन्द होता है।”
Even so, I tell you, there is joy among the angels of God, over one repentant sinner.
Then he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 १२ उनमें से छोटे ने पिता से कहा ‘हे पिता, सम्पत्ति में से जो भाग मेरा हो, वह मुझे दे दीजिए।’ उसने उनको अपनी सम्पत्ति बाँट दी।
and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of substance which falls to my share. And he divided with them his fortune.
13 १३ और बहुत दिन न बीते थे कि छोटा पुत्र सब कुछ इकट्ठा करके एक दूर देश को चला गया और वहाँ कुकर्म में अपनी सम्पत्ति उड़ा दी।
And not many days after, the younger son, collecting his all, travelled into a far distant country, and there dissipated his substance in a life of debauchery.
But when he had spent all, there came a terrible famine in that region; and he began to know want.
15 १५ और वह उस देश के निवासियों में से एक के यहाँ गया, उसने उसे अपने खेतों मेंसूअर चराने के लियेभेजा।
And he went and connected himself with one of the citizens of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 १६ और वह चाहता था, कि उन फलियों से जिन्हें सूअर खाते थे अपना पेट भरे; क्योंकि उसे कोई कुछ नहीं देता था।
And he eagerly longed to fill his belly with the charob berries which the swine did eat: and no person gave him a morsel.
17 १७ जब वह अपने आपे में आया, तब कहने लगा, ‘मेरे पिता के कितने ही मजदूरों को भोजन से अधिक रोटी मिलती है, और मैं यहाँ भूखा मर रहा हूँ।
Then coming to himself, he said, How many hirelings of my father abound with loaves of bread, and I am pining away with famine!
18 १८ मैं अब उठकर अपने पिता के पास जाऊँगा और उससे कहूँगा कि पिता जी मैंने स्वर्ग के विरोध में और तेरी दृष्टि में पाप किया है।
I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
and I am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hirelings.
20 २० “तब वह उठकर, अपने पिता के पास चला: वह अभी दूर ही था, कि उसके पिता ने उसे देखकर तरस खाया, और दौड़कर उसे गले लगाया, और बहुत चूमा।
And he arose and came to his father. But when he was yet at a considerable distance, his father discovered him, and was moved with compassion, and running, fell on his neck, and kissed him again and again.
21 २१ पुत्र ने उससे कहा, ‘पिता जी, मैंने स्वर्ग के विरोध में और तेरी दृष्टि में पाप किया है; और अब इस योग्य नहीं रहा, कि तेरा पुत्र कहलाऊँ।’
Then said the son unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 २२ परन्तु पिता ने अपने दासों से कहा, ‘झट अच्छे से अच्छा वस्त्र निकालकर उसे पहनाओ, और उसके हाथ में अंगूठी, और पाँवों में जूतियाँ पहनाओ,
But the father said to his servants, Bring out the best robe, and clothe him; and put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet:
and bring hither the stall-fed steer, and kill it; and let us eat, and be joyous.
24 २४ क्योंकि मेरा यह पुत्र मर गया था, फिर जी गया है: खो गया था, अब मिल गया है।’ और वे आनन्द करने लगे।
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. And they began to be joyous.
25 २५ “परन्तु उसका जेठा पुत्र खेत में था। और जब वह आते हुए घर के निकट पहुँचा, तो उसने गाने-बजाने और नाचने का शब्द सुना।
Now his elder brother had been in the field: and when coming home he drew near the house, he heard a concert of music, and the chorus.
And calling one of the servants, he inquired what these things meant.
27 २७ उसने उससे कहा, ‘तेरा भाई आया है, और तेरे पिता ने बड़ा भोज तैयार कराया है, क्योंकि उसे भला चंगा पाया है।’
And he said, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed for him the stall-fed steer, because he hath received him in health.
Then he was in great wrath, and would not enter the doors: therefore his father came out, and entreated him.
29 २९ उसने पिता को उत्तर दिया, ‘देख; मैं इतने वर्ष से तेरी सेवा कर रहा हूँ, और कभी भी तेरी आज्ञा नहीं टाली, फिर भी तूने मुझे कभी एक बकरी का बच्चा भी न दिया, कि मैं अपने मित्रों के साथ आनन्द करता।
But he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years I am serving thee, and never have transgressed thy command: yet to me thou hast never once given a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 ३० परन्तु जब तेरा यह पुत्र, जिसने तेरी सम्पत्ति वेश्याओं में उड़ा दी है, आया, तो उसके लिये तूने बड़ा भोज तैयार कराया।’
but no sooner is this son of thine come, who hath devoured thy substance with whores, than thou hast killed for him the stall-fed steer.
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all my possessions are thine.
32 ३२ परन्तु अब आनन्द करना और मगन होना चाहिए क्योंकि यह तेरा भाई मर गया था फिर जी गया है; खो गया था, अब मिल गया है।’”
But it was right that we should rejoice, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
