अय्यूब 37

1 १ “फिर इस बात पर भी मेरा हृदय काँपता है, और अपने स्थान से उछल पड़ता है।

At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of its place.

2 २ उसके बोलने का शब्द तो सुनो, और उस शब्द को जो उसके मुँह से निकलता है सुनो।

Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

3 ३ वह उसको सारे आकाश के तले, और अपनी बिजली को पृथ्वी की छोर तक भेजता है।

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.

4 ४ उसके पीछे गरजने का शब्द होता है; वह अपने प्रतापी शब्द से गरजता है, और जब उसका शब्द सुनाई देता है तब बिजली लगातार चमकने लगती है।

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not restrain them when his voice is heard.

5 ५ परमेश्वर गरजकर अपना शब्द अद्भुत रीति से सुनाता है, और बड़े-बड़े काम करता है जिनको हम नहीं समझते।

God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things he doeth, which we cannot comprehend.

6 ६ वह तो हिम से कहता है, पृथ्वी पर गिर, और इसी प्रकार मेंह को भी और मूसलाधार वर्षा को भी ऐसी ही आज्ञा देता है।

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

7 ७ वह सब मनुष्यों के हाथ पर मुहर कर देता है, जिससे उसके बनाए हुए सब मनुष्य उसको पहचानें।

He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

8 ८ तब वन पशु गुफाओं में घुस जाते, और अपनी-अपनी माँदों में रहते हैं।

Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

9 ९ दक्षिण दिशा से बवण्डर और उत्तर दिशा से जाड़ा आता है।

From the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold from the north.

10 १० परमेश्वर की श्वास की फूँक से बर्फ पड़ता है, तब जलाशयों का पाट जम जाता है।

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is narrowed.

11 ११ फिर वह घटाओं को भाप से लादता, और अपनी बिजली से भरे हुए उजियाले का बादल दूर तक फैलाता है।

Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

12 १२ वे उसकी बुद्धि की युक्ति से इधर-उधर फिराए जाते हैं, इसलिए कि जो आज्ञा वह उनको दे, उसी को वे बसाई हुई पृथ्वी के ऊपर पूरी करें।

And it is turned around by his counsels: that they may do whatever he commandeth them upon the face of the world on the earth.

13 १३ चाहे ताड़ना देने के लिये, चाहे अपनी पृथ्वी की भलाई के लिये या मनुष्यों पर करुणा करने के लिये वह उसे भेजे।

He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

14 १४ “हे अय्यूब! इस पर कान लगा और सुन ले; चुपचाप खड़ा रह, और परमेश्वर के आश्चर्यकर्मों का विचार कर।

Hearken to this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

15 १५ क्या तू जानता है, कि परमेश्वर क्यों अपने बादलों को आज्ञा देता, और अपने बादल की बिजली को चमकाता है?

Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

16 १६ क्या तू घटाओं का तौलना, या सर्वज्ञानी के आश्चर्यकर्मों को जानता है?

Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

17 १७ जब पृथ्वी पर दक्षिणी हवा ही के कारण से सन्नाटा रहता है तब तेरे वस्त्र गर्म हो जाते हैं?

How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

18 १८ फिर क्या तू उसके साथ आकाशमण्डल को तान सकता है, जो ढाले हुए दर्पण के तुल्य दृढ़ है?

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

19 १९ तू हमें यह सिखा कि उससे क्या कहना चाहिये? क्योंकि हम अंधियारे के कारण अपना व्याख्यान ठीक नहीं रच सकते।

Teach us what we shall say to him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

20 २० क्या उसको बताया जाए कि मैं बोलना चाहता हूँ? क्या कोई अपना सत्यानाश चाहता है?

Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man shall speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

21 २१ “अभी तो आकाशमण्डल में का बड़ा प्रकाश देखा नहीं जाता जब वायु चलकर उसको शुद्ध करती है।

And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

22 २२ उत्तर दिशा से सुनहरी ज्योति आती है परमेश्वर भययोग्य तेज से विभूषित है।

Fair weather cometh from the north: with God is terrible majesty.

23 २३ सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर जो अति सामर्थी है, और जिसका भेद हम पा नहीं सकते, वह न्याय और पूर्ण धार्मिकता को छोड़ अत्याचार नहीं कर सकता।

As for the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in abundance of justice: he will not afflict.

24 २४ इसी कारण सज्जन उसका भय मानते हैं, और जो अपनी दृष्टि में बुद्धिमान हैं, उन पर वह दृष्टि नहीं करता।”

Men therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
