< अय्यूब 23 >

1 १ तब अय्यूब ने कहा,
Then answered Job, and said,
2 २ “मेरी कुड़कुड़ाहट अब भी नहीं रुक सकती, मेरे कष्ट मेरे कराहने से भारी है।
Even now is my complaint bitter: my suffering is heavier than my groans.
3 ३ भला होता, कि मैं जानता कि वह कहाँ मिल सकता है, तब मैं उसके विराजने के स्थान तक जा सकता!
Oh who would grant that I knew where I might find him! that I might attain to his Judgment throne!
4 ४ मैं उसके सामने अपना मुकद्दमा पेश करता, और बहुत से प्रमाण देता।
I would put in order before him my cause, and my mouth would I fill with arguments.
5 ५ मैं जान लेता कि वह मुझसे उत्तर में क्या कह सकता है, और जो कुछ वह मुझसे कहता वह मैं समझ लेता।
I should know the words which he might answer me, and understand what he might say unto me.
6 ६ क्या वह अपना बड़ा बल दिखाकर मुझसे मुकद्दमा लड़ता? नहीं, वह मुझ पर ध्यान देता।
Would he with his power contend against me? he would truly not lay such doings to my charge.
7 ७ सज्जन उससे विवाद कर सकते, और इस रीति मैं अपने न्यायी के हाथ से सदा के लिये छूट जाता।
There would an upright one argue with him; and I should be allowed to escape for ever by my judge.
8 ८ “देखो, मैं आगे जाता हूँ परन्तु वह नहीं मिलता; मैं पीछे हटता हूँ, परन्तु वह दिखाई नहीं पड़ता;
But, lo, I go eastward—and he is not there; and to the west— and I cannot perceive him;
9 ९ जब वह बाईं ओर काम करता है तब वह मुझे दिखाई नहीं देता; वह तो दाहिनी ओर ऐसा छिप जाता है, कि मुझे वह दिखाई ही नहीं पड़ता।
When he doth great things at the north, I behold him not; he hideth himself in the south—and I see him not.
10 १० परन्तु वह जानता है, कि मैं कैसी चाल चला हूँ; और जब वह मुझे ता लेगा तब मैं सोने के समान निकलूँगा।
But he knoweth the way that I take: were he to probe me, I should come forth as gold.
11 ११ मेरे पैर उसके मार्गों में स्थिर रहे; और मैं उसी का मार्ग बिना मुड़ें थामे रहा।
On his steps my foot hath held fast: his way have I kept, and swerved not.
12 १२ उसकी आज्ञा का पालन करने से मैं न हटा, और मैंने उसके वचन अपनी इच्छा से कहीं अधिक काम के जानकर सुरक्षित रखे।
From the commandment of his lips have I also not moved away: as a fixed statute for me have I treasured up the sayings of his mouth.
13 १३ परन्तु वह एक ही बात पर अड़ा रहता है, और कौन उसको उससे फिरा सकता है? जो कुछ उसका जी चाहता है वही वह करता है।
But he is unchangeably one, and who can turn him? And what his will desireth, even that he doth.
14 १४ जो कुछ मेरे लिये उसने ठाना है, उसी को वह पूरा करता है; और उसके मन में ऐसी-ऐसी बहुत सी बातें हैं।
For he will bring to completion what hath been destined for me: and like these hath he many other things with him.
15 १५ इस कारण मैं उसके सम्मुख घबरा जाता हूँ; जब मैं सोचता हूँ तब उससे थरथरा उठता हूँ।
Therefore am I terrified at his presence: I will reflect, and be in dread of him.
16 १६ क्योंकि मेरा मन परमेश्वर ही ने कच्चा कर दिया, और सर्वशक्तिमान ही ने मुझ को घबरा दिया है।
Still God hath made timid my heart, and the Almighty hath terrified me;
17 १७ क्योंकि मैं अंधकार से घिरा हुआ हूँ, और घोर अंधकार ने मेरे मुँह को ढाँप लिया है।
Because I was not destroyed before this darkness, and because he hath not hidden from my face [this] gloom.
