यशायाह 31
1 १ हाय उन पर जो सहायता पाने के लिये मिस्र को जाते हैं और घोड़ों का आसरा करते हैं; जो रथों पर भरोसा रखते क्योंकि वे बहुत हैं, और सवारों पर, क्योंकि वे अति बलवान हैं, पर इस्राएल के पवित्र की ओर दृष्टि नहीं करते और न यहोवा की खोज करते हैं!
Wo to hem that goon doun in to Egipt to help, and hopen in horsis, and han trist on cartis, for tho ben manye, and on knyytis, for thei ben ful stronge; and thei tristiden not on the hooli of Israel, and thei souyten not the Lord.
2 २ परन्तु वह भी बुद्धिमान है और दुःख देगा, वह अपने वचन न टालेगा, परन्तु उठकर कुकर्मियों के घराने पर और अनर्थकारियों के सहायकों पर भी चढ़ाई करेगा।
Forsothe he that is wijs, hath brouyt yuel, and took not awei hise wordis; and he schal rise togidere ayens the hous of worste men, and ayens the helpe of hem that worchen wickidnesse.
3 ३ मिस्री लोग परमेश्वर नहीं, मनुष्य ही हैं; और उनके घोड़े आत्मा नहीं, माँस ही हैं। जब यहोवा हाथ बढ़ाएगा, तब सहायता करनेवाले और सहायता चाहनेवाले दोनों ठोकर खाकर गिरेंगे, और वे सब के सब एक संग नष्ट हो जाएँगे।
Egipt is a man, and not God; and the horsis of hem ben fleisch, and not spirit; and the Lord schal bowe doun his hond, and the helpere schal falle doun, and he schal falle, to whom help is youun, and alle schulen be wastid togidere.
4 ४ फिर यहोवा ने मुझसे यह कहा, “जिस प्रकार सिंह या जवान सिंह जब अपने अहेर पर गुर्राता हो, और चरवाहे इकट्ठे होकर उसके विरुद्ध बड़ी भीड़ लगाएँ, तो भी वह उनके बोल से न घबराएगा और न उनके कोलाहल के कारण दबेगा, उसी प्रकार सेनाओं का यहोवा, सिय्योन पर्वत और यरूशलेम की पहाड़ी पर, युद्ध करने को उतरेगा।
For whi the Lord seith these thingis to me, If a lioun rorith, and a whelp of a lioun on his prey, whanne the multitude of schipherdis cometh ayens hym, he schal not drede of the vois of hem, and he schal not drede of the multitude of hem; so the Lord of oostis schal come doun, for to fiyte on the mounteyn of Sion, and on the litil hil therof.
5 ५ पंख फैलाई हुई चिड़ियों के समान सेनाओं का यहोवा यरूशलेम की रक्षा करेगा; वह उसकी रक्षा करके बचाएगा, और उसको बिन छूए ही उद्धार करेगा।”
As briddis fleynge, so the Lord of oostis schal defende Jerusalem; he defendynge and delyuerynge, passynge forth and sauynge.
Ye sones of Israel, be conuertid, as ye hadden go awei in to depthe.
Forsothe in that dai a man schal caste awei the idols of his siluer, and the idols of his gold, whiche youre hondis maden to you in to synne.
8 ८ “तब अश्शूर उस तलवार से गिराया जाएगा जो मनुष्य की नहीं; वह उस तलवार का कौर हो जाएगा जो आदमी की नहीं; और वह तलवार के सामने से भागेगा और उसके जवान बेगार में पकड़े जाएँगे।
And Assur schal falle bi swerd, not of man, and a swerd, not of man, schal deuoure hym; and he schal fle, not fro the face of swerd, and hise yonge men schulen be tributaries;
9 ९ वह भय के मारे अपने सुन्दर भवन से जाता रहेगा, और उसके हाकिम घबराहट के कारण ध्वजा त्याग कर भाग जाएँगे,” यहोवा जिसकी अग्नि सिय्योन में और जिसका भट्ठा यरूशलेम में हैं, उसी की यह वाणी है।
and the strengthe of hym schal passe fro ferdfulnesse, and hise princes fleynge schulen drede. The Lord seide, whos fier is in Sion, and his chymeney is in Jerusalem.
