आमोस 3
1 १ हे इस्राएलियों, यह वचन सुनो जो यहोवा ने तुम्हारे विषय में अर्थात् उस सारे कुल के विषय में कहा है जिसे मैं मिस्र देश से लाया हूँ:
Hear this word that Yahweh has spoken against you, people of Israel, against the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt:
2 २ “पृथ्वी के सारे कुलों में से मैंने केवल तुम्हीं पर मन लगाया है, इस कारण मैं तुम्हारे सारे अधर्म के कामों का दण्ड दूँगा।
“I have chosen only you from all the families of the earth. Therefore I will punish you for all your sins.”
Will two walk together unless they have agreed?
4 ४ क्या सिंह बिना अहेर पाए वन में गरजेंगे? क्या जवान सिंह बिना कुछ पकड़े अपनी माँद में से गुर्राएगा?
Will a lion roar in the forest when he has no victim? Will a young lion growl from his den if he has caught nothing?
Can a bird fall in a trap on the ground when no bait is set for him? Will a trap spring up from the ground when it has not caught anything?
6 ६ क्या किसी नगर में नरसिंगा फूँकने पर लोग न थरथराएँगे? क्या यहोवा के बिना भेजे किसी नगर में कोई विपत्ति पड़ेगी?
If a trumpet sounds in a city, will the people not tremble? If disaster overtakes a city, has Yahweh not sent it?
Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing unless he reveals his plan to his servants the prophets.
The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord Yahweh has spoken; who will not prophesy?
9 ९ अश्दोद के भवन और मिस्र देश के राजभवन पर प्रचार करके कहो: “सामरिया के पहाड़ों पर इकट्ठे होकर देखो कि उसमें क्या ही बड़ा कोलाहल और उसके बीच क्या ही अंधेर के काम हो रहे हैं!”
Proclaim this in the fortresses at Ashdod, and in the fortresses in the land of Egypt; say, “Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see what great confusion is in her, and what oppression is in her.
10 १० यहोवा की यह वाणी है, “जो लोग अपने भवनों में उपद्रव और डकैती का धन बटोरकर रखते हैं, वे सिधाई से काम करना जानते ही नहीं।”
For they do not know how to do right —this is Yahweh's declaration— They store up violence and destruction in their fortresses.”
11 ११ इस कारण परमेश्वर यहोवा यह कहता है: “देश का घेरनेवाला एक शत्रु होगा, और वह तेरा बल तोड़ेगा, और तेरे भवन लूटे जाएँगे।”
Therefore, this is what the Lord Yahweh says: “An enemy will surround the land, and pull down your strongholds and plunder your fortresses.”
12 १२ यहोवा यह कहता है: “जिस भाँति चरवाहा सिंह के मुँह से दो टाँगें या कान का एक टुकड़ा छुड़ाता है, वैसे ही इस्राएली लोग, जो सामरिया में बिछौने के एक कोने या रेशमी गद्दी पर बैठा करते हैं, वे भी छुड़ाए जाएँगे।”
This is what Yahweh says: “As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs only, or a piece of an ear; so will the people of Israel who live in Samaria be rescued; they will be left with only the corner of a couch or a piece of a bed.”
Hear and testify against the house of Jacob —this is the declaration of the Lord Yahweh, the God of hosts:
14 १४ जिस समय मैं इस्राएल को उसके अपराधों का दण्ड दूँगा, उसी समय मैं बेतेल की वेदियों को भी दण्ड दूँगा, और वेदी के सींग टूटकर भूमि पर गिर पड़ेंगे।
“For in the day that I punish the sins of Israel, I will also punish the altars of Bethel. The horns of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.
15 १५ और मैं सर्दी के भवन को और धूपकाल के भवन, दोनों को गिराऊँगा; और हाथी दाँत के बने भवन भी नष्ट होंगे, और बड़े-बड़े घर नष्ट हो जाएँगे,” यहोवा की यही वाणी है।
I will destroy the winter house with the summer house. The houses of ivory will perish, and the large houses will vanish, —this is Yahweh's declaration.”
