सपन्याह 1
1 याहवेह का यह वचन यहूदिया के राजा अमोन के पुत्र योशियाह के शासनकाल में कूशी के पुत्र ज़ेफनियाह के पास आया; जेफ़नयाह कूशी का, कूशी गेदालियाह का, गेदालियाह अमरियाह का तथा अमरियाह हिज़किय्याह का पुत्र था:
A word of YHWH that has been to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezikiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amoz, king of Judah:
2 “मैं पृथ्वी से सारी चीज़ों को मिटा दूंगा,” याहवेह की यह घोषणा है.
“I utterly consume all from off the face of the ground,” A declaration of YHWH.
3 “मैं मनुष्य तथा पशु दोनों को नष्ट कर दूंगा; मैं आकाश के पक्षियों और समुद्र की मछलियों को नष्ट कर दूंगा; और मूर्तियों को नष्ट कर दूंगा, जो दुष्ट जन के गिरने का कारण बनती हैं.” “जब मैं पृथ्वी से सब मनुष्यों को मिटा दूंगा,” याहवेह की यह घोषणा है,
“I consume man and beast, I consume bird of the heavens, and fishes of the sea, And the stumbling-blocks—the wicked, And I have cut off man from the face of the ground,” A declaration of YHWH,
4 “मैं यहूदिया के विरुद्ध और येरूशलेम के सब निवासियों के विरुद्ध अपना हाथ बढ़ाऊंगा. मैं इस स्थान से बाल देवता की उपासना करनेवाले हर बचे हुए को, और मूर्ति पूजा करनेवाले पुरोहितों के नाम तक को मिटा दूंगा.
“And I have stretched out My hand against Judah, And against all inhabiting Jerusalem, And cut off from this place the remnant of Ba‘al, The name of the idolatrous priests, with the priests,
5 मैं उन्हें भी मिटा दूंगा, जो अपनी छतों पर झुककर आकाश के तारों की उपासना करते हैं, जो झुककर याहवेह की कसम खाते हैं और जो देवता मलकाम की भी कसम खाते हैं,
And those bowing themselves On the roofs to the host of the heavens, And those bowing themselves, Swearing to YHWH, and swearing by Malcham,
6 उन्हें भी, जो याहवेह के पीछे चलना छोड़ दिये हैं और न तो याहवेह की खोज करते हैं और न ही उसकी इच्छा जानने की कोशिश करते हैं.”
And those removing from after YHWH, And who have not sought YHWH, nor implored Him.”
7 परम याहवेह के सामने चुप रहो, क्योंकि याहवेह का दिन निकट है. याहवेह ने एक बलिदान तैयार किया है; उन्होंने उनको पवित्र कार्य के लिये अलग रखा है, जिन्हें उन्होंने आमंत्रित किया है.
Hush! Because of Lord YHWH, For near [is the] Day of YHWH, For YHWH has prepared a sacrifice, He has sanctified His invited ones.
8 “याहवेह के ठहराए बलिदान चढ़ाने के दिन मैं कर्मचारियों और राजकुमारों को और उन सभी को दंड दूंगा, जो विदेशी कपड़े पहनते हैं.
“And it has come to pass, In the day of the sacrifice of YHWH, That I have laid a charge on the heads, And on sons of the king, And on all putting on strange clothing.
9 उस दिन मैं उन सभी को दंड दूंगा जो मंदिर के फाटक पर पैर रखने से बचते हैं, जो अपने देवताओं के मंदिर को हिंसा और छल से भर देते हैं.
And I have laid a charge on everyone Who is leaping over the threshold in that day, Who are filling the house of their masters [With] violence and deceit.
10 “उस दिन” याहवेह घोषणा करते हैं, “मछली-द्वार से रोने की आवाज, नगर के नए बसे स्थान से विलाप का स्वर, और पहाड़ियों से बड़े धमाके की आवाज सुनाई देगी.
And there has been in that day,” A declaration of YHWH, “The noise of a cry from the Fish Gate, And of a howling from the Second [Quarter], And of great destruction from the hills.
11 तुम जो बाजारवाले जिला में रहते हो, विलाप करो; क्योंकि तुम्हारे सारे व्यापारियों को, और चांदी का सब व्यवसाय करनेवालों को नष्ट कर दिया जाएगा.
Howl, you inhabitants of the hollow place, For all the merchant people have been cut off, All carrying silver have been cut off.
12 उस समय मैं दीपक लेकर येरूशलेम में खोजूंगा और उन्हें दंड दूंगा, जो आत्म-संतुष्ट हैं, जो तलछट में छोड़े गये दाखरस के मैल के समान हैं, जो यह सोचते हैं, ‘याहवेह कुछ भी नहीं करेंगे, न भला करेंगे और न ही बुरा.’
And it has come to pass at that time, I search Jerusalem with lights, And I have laid a charge on the men Who are hardened on their preserved things, Who are saying in their heart: YHWH does no good, nor does He do evil.
13 उनका धन लूट लिया जाएगा, और उनके घर ढह जाएंगे. यद्यपि वे घर बनाते हैं, किंतु वे उनमें नहीं रह सकेंगे; यद्यपि वे अंगूर की बारी तो लगाएंगे, किंतु वे उससे बना दाखमधु नहीं पी सकेंगे.”
And their wealth has been for a spoil, And their houses for desolation, And they have built houses, and do not inhabit, And they have planted vineyards, And they do not drink their wine.”
14 याहवेह का भयानक दिन निकट है— यह निकट है और जल्दी आ रहा है. याहवेह के दिन का रोना भयानक है; बड़ा योद्धा भी दुःख के कारण फूट-फूटकर क्रंदन करता है.
Near [is] the Great Day of YHWH, Near, and hastening exceedingly, The noise of the Day of YHWH, There a mighty one bitterly shrieks.
15 वह कोप का दिन होगा, संकट और पीड़ा का दिन, परेशानी और विनाश का दिन, अंधकार और गम का दिन, घनघोर घटा और अंधकार का दिन,
A day of wrath [is] that day, A day of adversity and distress, A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of cloud and thick darkness,
16 गढ़वाले शहरों के विरुद्ध और कोनेवाले प्रहरी-मीनारों के विरुद्ध वह तुरही फूंकने और युद्ध के ललकार का दिन होगा.
A day of horn and shouting against the fortified cities, And against the high corners.
17 “मैं संपूर्ण मानव जाति पर ऐसी विपत्ति लाऊंगा, कि वे ऐसे टटोलेंगे, जैसे अंधे व्यक्ति टटोलते हैं, क्योंकि उन्होंने याहवेह के विरुद्ध पाप किया है. उनका खून धूल के समान और उनकी अंतड़ी गोबर के समान फेंक दी जाएगी.
“And I have sent distress to men, And they have walked as the blind, For against YHWH they have sinned, And poured out is their blood as dust, And their flesh [is] as dung.”
18 याहवेह के कोप के दिन, न तो उनकी चांदी और न ही उनका सोना उनको बचा पाएगा.” उसके जलन की आग में सारी पृथ्वी भस्म हो जाएगी, क्योंकि वह उन सबका अचानक अंत कर देगा जो पृथ्वी पर रहते हैं.
Even their silver, even their gold, is not able to deliver them in a day of the wrath of YHWH, and in the fire of His jealousy is the whole land consumed, for He makes only a hurried end of all the inhabitants of the land!
