सपन्याह 2
1 हे निर्लज्ज जाति के लोगों, इकट्ठे हो, अपने आपको इकट्ठा करो,
Gather yourselves together and gather together O nation not ashamed.
2 इसके पहले कि परमेश्वर की आज्ञा प्रभावी हो और हवा के द्वारा उड़ाए जानेवाली भूसी के समान वह दिन निकल जाए, इसके पहले कि याहवेह का भयंकर क्रोध तुम पर भड़के, इसके पहले कि याहवेह के कोप का दिन तुम पर आ जाए.
Before brings forth a decree like chaff it has passed away a day before - not it will come on you [the] burning of [the] anger of Yahweh before not it will come on you [the] day of [the] anger of Yahweh.
3 तुम सब, जो इस देश के नम्र लोग हो, जो याहवेह की आज्ञा को मानते हो, याहवेह के खोज में रहो. धर्मीपन के खोज में रहो, नम्र बनो; शायद तुम्हें याहवेह के क्रोध के दिन में शरण मिल जाए.

4 अज्जाह को पूरी तरह त्याग दिया जाएगा और अश्कलोन तबाह हो जाएगा. दिन-दोपहरी को अशदोदवासी निकाल दिये जाएंगे और एक्रोन नगर को मिटा दिया जाएगा.

5 हे समुद्रतट पर रहनेवालो, तुम पर हाय, हे केरेथियों द्वीप के लोगों, तुम पर हाय; हे फिलिस्तीनियों के देश, कनान, याहवेह का वचन तुम्हारे विरुद्ध है. वह कहता है, “मैं तुम्हें नाश कर दूंगा, कोई भी न बचेगा.”

6 समुद्र के किनारे की भूमि चरागाह होगी, जहां चरवाहों के लिए कुएं और पशुओं के लिये बाड़े होंगे.

8 “मैंने मोआब के द्वारा कही गई अपमान की बातों और अम्मोनियों के द्वारा कही गई निंदा की बातों को सुना है, वे मेरे लोगों की बेइज्जती करते और उनके देश को छीन लेने की धमकी देते हैं.

9 इसलिये, मेरे जीवन की शपथ,” सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की घोषणा है, “यह निश्चित है कि मोआब सोदोम के समान और अम्मोनी अमोराह के समान हो जाएंगे— ये घास-पात और नमक के गड्ढों की जगह हो जाएंगे, और हमेशा के लिये उजड़ जाएंगे. मेरे लोगों में से बचे हुए लोग उन्हें लूट लेंगे; और मेरी जाति के जीवित बचे लोग उनके देश पर अधिकार कर लेंगे.”

11 याहवेह का भय उनमें समाएगा, जब वह पृथ्वी के सब देवताओं को नाश कर देंगे. दूर-दूर के जाति-जाति के सब लोग अपने-अपने देश में याहवेह को झुककर दंडवत करेंगे.

12 “हे कूश देश निवासियो, तुम भी मेरी तलवार से मारे जाओगे.”

13 याहवेह उत्तर दिशा के विरुद्ध अपना हाथ बढ़ाएंगे और अश्शूर को नाश कर देंगे, और नीनवेह को पूरी तरह उजाड़ और मरुभूमि की तरह सूखा छोड़ देंगे.
And he may stretch out hand his on [the] north so he may destroy Assyria and he may make Nineveh a waste a dry region like the wilderness.
14 पशु और पक्षी के झुंड और सब प्रकार के जीव-जन्तु वहां आराम करेंगे. उसके खंभों पर मरुस्थल उल्लू और चीखनेवाला उल्लू बसेरा करेंगे. खिड़कियों में से उन उल्लुओं की आवाज सुनाई देगी, पत्थर के टुकड़ों से रास्ता भर जाएगा, देवदार लकड़ी के बल्लों को खुला छोड़ दिया जाएगा.

15 यह उस चहल-पहल वाले शहर की स्थिति है जो कभी सुरक्षित हुआ करती थी. वह अपने आपसे कहती थी, “मैं ही हूं! और मुझे छोड़ कोई दूसरा नहीं है.” वह खंडहर मात्र रह गई है, वन-पशुओं का एक मांद! जो कोई इसके पास से गुज़रता है, वह इसकी खिल्ली उड़ाता और अपना मुक्का तानता है.
