भजन संहिता 1

1 कैसा धन्य है वह पुरुष जो दुष्टों की सम्मति का आचरण नहीं करता, न पापियों के मार्ग पर खड़ा रहता और न ही उपहास करनेवालों की बैठक में बैठता है,

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 इसके विपरीत उसका उल्लास याहवेह की व्यवस्था का पालन करने में है, उसी का मनन वह दिन-रात करता रहता है.

But his delight is in the law of Yhwh; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 वह बहती जलधाराओं के तट पर लगाए गए उस वृक्ष के समान है, जो उपयुक्त ऋतु में फल देता है जिसकी पत्तियां कभी मुरझाती नहीं. ऐसा पुरुष जो कुछ करता है उसमें सफल होता है.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 किंतु दुष्ट ऐसे नहीं होते! वे उस भूसे के समान होते हैं, जिसे पवन उड़ा ले जाती है.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 तब दुष्ट न्याय में टिक नहीं पाएंगे, और न ही पापी धर्मियों के मण्डली में.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 निश्चयतः याहवेह धर्मियों के आचरण को सुख समृद्धि से सम्पन्‍न करते हैं, किंतु दुष्टों को उनका आचरण ही नष्ट कर डालेगा.

For Yhwh knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
