भजन संहिता 82

1 आसफ का एक स्तोत्र. स्वर्गिक महासभा में परमेश्वर ने अपना स्थान ग्रहण किया है; उन्होंने “देवताओं” के सामने अपना निर्णय सुना दिया है:

A Melody of Asaph. God, hath taken his place in the august assembly, In the midst of the gods, will he judge.

2 कब तक तुम अन्यायी को समर्थन करते रहोगे, कब तक तुम अन्याय का पक्षपात करते रहोगे?

How long will ye judge perversely, And, the countenances of the lawless, uplift? (Selah)

3 दुःखी तथा पितृहीन का पक्ष दृढ़ करो; दरिद्रों एवं दुःखितों के अधिकारों की रक्षा करो.

Vindicate the weak and the fatherless, The oppressed and the poor, see righted;

4 दुर्बल एवं दीनों को छुड़ा लो; दुष्ट के फंदे से उन्हें बचा लो.

Deliver the weak and the needy, Out of the hand of the lawless, make rescue.

5 “वे कुछ नहीं जानते, वे कुछ नहीं समझते. वे अंधकार में आगे बढ़ रहे हैं; पृथ्वी के समस्त आधार डगमगा गए हैं.

They know not, neither can they perceive, In darkness, they wander, All the foundations of the earth do shake.

6 “मैंने कहा, ‘तुम “ईश्वर” हो; तुम सभी सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर की संतान हो.’

I, said, Gods, ye are, Yea, sons of the Highest, are ye all;

7 किंतु तुम सभी की मृत्यु दूसरे मनुष्यों सी होगी; तुम्हारा पतन भी अन्य शासकों के समान ही होगा.”

But indeed, like the earth-born, shall ye die! And, like one of the princes, shall ye fall!

8 परमेश्वर, उठकर पृथ्वी का न्याय कीजिए, क्योंकि समस्त राष्ट्रों पर आपका प्रभुत्व है.

Arise! O God, judge thou the earth, For, thou, wilt inherit all the nations.
