भजन संहिता 63
1 दावीद का एक स्तोत्र. जब वह यहूदिया प्रदेश के निर्जन प्रदेश में था. परमेश्वर, आप मेरे अपने परमेश्वर हैं, अत्यंत उत्कटतापूर्वक मैं आपके सान्निध्य की कामना करता हूं; सूखी और प्यासी भूमि में, जहां जल है ही नहीं, मेरा प्राण आपके लिए प्यासा एवं मेरी देह आपकी अभिलाषी है.
A Melody of David. When he was in the Wilderness of Judah. O God, my GOD, thou art, Earnestly do I desire thee, —My soul thirsteth for thee, My flesh fainteth for thee, In a land—dry, and weary for want of water, —
2 आपके पवित्र स्थान में मैंने आपका दर्शन किया है, कि आपके सामर्थ्य तथा तेज को निहारूं.
In like manner as, in the sanctuary, I have had vision of thee, To behold thy power and thy glory.
3 इसलिये कि आपका करुणा-प्रेम मेरे जीवन की अपेक्षा कहीं अधिक श्रेष्ठ है, मेरे होंठ आपके स्तवन करते रहेंगे.
Because better is thy lovingkindness than life, My lips, aloud shall praise thee!
4 मैं आजीवन आपका धन्यवाद करता रहूंगा, आपकी महिमा का ध्यान करके मैं अपने हाथ उठाऊंगा.
Thus, will I bless thee while I live, In thy Name, will I lift up mine outspread hands:
5 होंठों पर गीत और मुख से स्तुति के वचनों से मेरे प्राण ऐसे तृप्त हो जाएंगे, जैसे उत्कृष्ट भोजन से.
As with fatness and richness, shall my soul be satisfied, And, with joyfully shouting lips, shall my mouth utter praise.
6 जब मैं बिछौने पर होता हूं, तब आपका स्मरण करता हूं; मैं रात्रि के प्रहरों में आपके विषय में चिंतन करता रहूंगा.
Should I call thee to mind upon my couch, In the watches of the night, would I breathe soft speech of thee.
7 क्योंकि आप ही मेरे सहायक हैं, आपके पंखों की छाया मुझे गीत गाने के लिए प्रेरित करती है.
For thou hast become a help unto me, —And, in the shadow of thy wings, will I shout for joy.
8 मैं आपके निकट रहना चाहता हूं; आपका दायां हाथ मुझे संभाले रहता है.
My soul hath run clinging to thee, On me, hath thy right hand laid hold.
9 जो मेरे प्राणों के प्यासे हैं, उनका विनाश निश्चित है; वे पृथ्वी की गहराई में समा जाएंगे.
When, they, to crush it, would seek my life, They shall go into the lower parts of the earth:
10 वे तलवार से घात किए जाने के लिए सौंप दिए जाएंगे, कि वे सियारों का आहार बन जाएं.
Every one shall be given up into the power of the sword, The portion of jackals, shall they become.
11 परंतु राजा तो परमेश्वर में उल्लसित रहेगा; वे सभी, जिन्होंने परमेश्वर में श्रद्धा रखी है, उनका स्तवन करेंगे, जबकि झूठ बोलने वालों के मुख चुप कर दिए जाएंगे.
But, the king, shall rejoice in God, —Every one shall glory who sweareth by him, For the mouth of them who speak falsehood, shall be stopped.
