भजन संहिता 53

1 संगीत निर्देशक के लिये. माख़लथ पर आधारित दावीद की मसकील गीत रचना मूर्ख मन ही मन में कहते हैं, “परमेश्वर है ही नहीं.” वे सभी भ्रष्‍ट हैं और उनकी जीवनशैली घिनौनी है; ऐसा कोई भी नहीं, जो भलाई करता हो.

“For the leader of the music. To be sung on wind instruments. A psalm of David.” The fool saith in his heart, “There is no God!” They are corrupt; their doings are abominable; There is none that doeth good.

2 स्वर्ग से परमेश्वर मनुष्यों पर दृष्टि डालते हैं इस आशा में कि कोई तो होगा, जो बुद्धिमान है, जो परमेश्वर की खोज करता हो.

God looketh down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any that have understanding, That have regard to God.

3 सभी मनुष्य भटक गए हैं, सभी नैतिक रूप से भ्रष्‍ट हो चुके हैं; कोई भी सत्कर्म परोपकार नहीं करता, हां, एक भी नहीं.

They are all gone astray; together are they corrupt; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

4 मेरी प्रजा के ये भक्षक, ये दुष्ट पुरुष, क्या ऐसे निर्बुद्धि हैं? जो उसे ऐसे खा जाते हैं, जैसे रोटी को; क्या उन्हें परमेश्वर की उपासना का कोई ध्यान नहीं?

Shall not the evil-doers be requited, Who eat up my people like bread, And call not upon God?

5 जहां भय का कोई कारण ही न था, वहां वे अत्यंत भयभीत हो गए. परमेश्वर ने उनकी हड्डियों को बिखरा दिया, जो तेरे विरुद्ध छावनी डाले हुए थे; तुमने उन्हें लज्जित कर डाला, क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर द्वारा लज्जित किये गये थे.

Yea! fear shall come upon them, Where no fear is; For God will scatter the bones of him that encampeth against thee; Thou shalt put them to shame, for God despiseth them!

6 कैसा उत्तम होता यदि इस्राएल का उद्धार ज़ियोन से प्रगट होता! याकोब के लिए वह हर्षोल्लास का अवसर होगा, जब परमेश्वर अपनी प्रजा को दासत्व से लौटा लाएंगे, तब इस्राएल आनंदित हो जाएगा!

O that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captives of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel be glad.
