भजन संहिता 49
1 संगीत निर्देशक के लिये. कोराह के पुत्रों की रचना. एक स्तोत्र. विभिन्न देशों के निवासियो, यह सुनो; धरती के वासियो, यह सुनो,
To the Chief Musician. For the Sons of Korah. A Melody. Hear ye, this all ye peoples, Give ear, all ye inhabitants of this passing world;
2 सुनो अरे उच्च और निम्न, सुनो अरे दीन जनो और अमीरो,
Both sons of the low, And sons of the high, —Together both rich and needy: —
3 मैं बुद्धिमानी की बातें करने पर हूं; तथा मेरे हृदय का चिंतन समझ से परिपूर्ण होगा.
My mouth, shall speak forth Wisdom, And the soft utterance of my heart be Understanding:
4 मैं नीतिवचन पर ध्यान दूंगा; मैं किन्नोर की संगत पर पहेली स्पष्ट करूंगा:
I will bend, to a by-word, mine ear, I will open, on the lyre, mine enigma.
5 क्या आवश्यकता है विपत्ति के समय मुझे भयभीत होने की, जब दुष्ट धोखेबाज मुझे आ घेरते हैं;
Wherefore should I fear in the days of calamity, Though the iniquity of them who lie in wait for me should enclose me?
6 हां, वे जिनका भरोसा उनकी संपत्ति पर है, तथा जिन्हें अपनी सम्पन्नता का गर्व है?
As for them who are trusting in their wealth, —And, in the abundance of their riches, do boast themselves,
7 कोई भी मनुष्य किसी अन्य मनुष्य के प्राणों का उद्धार नहीं कर सकता, और न ही वह परमेश्वर को किसी के प्राणों के लिए छुड़ौती दे सकता है.
A brother, can none of them, redeem, he cannot give unto God a ransom for himself:
8 क्योंकि उसके प्राणों का मूल्य अत्यंत ऊंचा है, कि कोई मूल्य पर्याप्त नहीं है,
So costly, is the redemption of their soul, That it faileth unto times age-abiding;
9 कि मनुष्य सर्वदा जीवित रहे, वह कभी कब्र का अनुभव न करे.
That he should, yet, live on, continually, Should not see corruption.
10 सभी के सामने यह स्पष्ट है, कि सभी बुद्धिमानो की भी मृत्यु होती है; वैसे ही मूर्खों और अज्ञानियों की भी, ये सभी अपनी संपत्ति दूसरों के लिए छोड़ जाते हैं.
For it is seen that, the wise, die, Together with the dullard, and the brutish, do they perish, And leave, to others, their wealth:
11 उनकी आत्मा में उनका विचार है, कि उनके आवास अमर हैं, तथा उनके निवास सभी पीढ़ियों के लिए हो गए हैं, वे तो अपने देशों को भी अपने नाम से पुकारने लगे हैं.
Their, inward thought, is that their houses are for times age-abiding, Their habitations, for generation after generation, —They give their own names unto lands!
12 अपने ऐश्वर्य के बावजूद मनुष्य अमरत्व प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता; वह तो फिर भी नश्वर पशु समान ही है.
But, a son of earth, though wealthy, cannot tarry, He hath made himself a by-word—Beasts, they resemble:
13 यह नियति उनकी है, जो बुद्धिहीन हैं तथा उनकी, जो उनके विचारों से सहमत होते हैं.
This, their way, is a folly to them, And yet, their followers, with their mouth, approve. (Selah)
14 भेड़ों के समान अधोलोक ही उनकी नियति है; मृत्यु ही उनका चरवाहा होगा. प्रातःकाल सीधे लोग उन पर शासन करेंगे तथा उनकी देह अधोलोक की ग्रास हो जाएंगी, परिणामस्वरूप उनका कोई आधार शेष न रह जाएगा. (Sheol h7585)
Like sheep—into hades, are they driven, Death shall shepherd them, —And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning, Even their form, is to decay, Hades, is all that remaineth of a habitation for him. (Sheol h7585)
15 मेरे प्राण परमेश्वर द्वारा अधोलोक की सामर्थ्य से मुक्त किए जाएंगे; निश्चयतः वह मुझे स्वीकार कर लेंगे. (Sheol h7585)
But, God, will redeem my soul, out of the hand of hades, For he will take me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 किसी पुरुष की विकसित होती जा रही समृद्धि को देख डर न जाना, जब उसकी जीवनशैली वैभवशाली होने लगे;
Do not fear, When a man becometh rich, When the glory of his house increaseth;
17 क्योंकि मृत्यु होने पर वह इनमें से कुछ भी अपने साथ नहीं ले जाएगा, उसका वैभव उसके साथ कब्र में नहीं उतरेगा.
For, when he dieth, he shall take, nothing, his glory shall not descend after him;
18 यद्यपि जब वह जीवित था, उसने प्रशंसा ही प्राप्त की, क्योंकि मनुष्य समृद्ध होने पर उनकी प्रशंसा करते ही हैं,
For, though, his own self—while he lived, he used to bless, And they will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself,
19 वह पुरुष अंततः अपने पूर्वजों में ही जा मिलेगा, जिनके लिए जीवन प्रकाश देखना नियत नहीं है.
He shall enter as far as the circle of his fathers, Nevermore, shall they see the light.
20 एक धनवान मनुष्य को सुबुद्धि खो गया है, तो उसमें और उस नाशमान पशु में कोई अंतर नहीं रह गया!
A son of earth though wealthy, who discerneth not, Hath made himself a by-word, Beasts, they resemble.
