भजन संहिता 36

1 संगीत निर्देशक के लिये. याहवेह के सेवक दावीद की रचना दुष्ट के हृदय में उसका दोष भाव उसे कहते रहता है: उसकी दृष्टि में परमेश्वर के प्रति कोई भय है ही नहीं.

`To victorie, to Dauid, `the seruaunt of the Lord. The vniust man seide, that he trespasse in hym silf; the drede of God is not bifor hise iyen.

2 अपनी ही नज़रों में वह खुद की चापलूसी करता है. ऐसे में उसे न तो अपना पाप दिखाई देता है, न ही उसे पाप से घृणा होती है.

For he dide gilefuli in the siyt of God; that his wickidnesse be foundun to hatrede.

3 उसका बोलना छलपूर्ण एवं बुराई का है; बुद्धि ने उसका साथ छोड़ दिया है तथा उपकार भाव अब उसमें रहा ही नहीं.

The wordis of his mouth ben wickidnesse and gile, he nolde vndirstonde to do wel.

4 यहां तक कि बिछौने पर लेटे हुए वह बुरी युक्ति रचता रहता है; उसने स्वयं को अधर्म के लिए समर्पित कर दिया है. वह बुराई को अस्वीकार नहीं कर पाता.

He thouyte wickidnesse in his bed, he stood nyy al weie not good; forsothe he hatide not malice.

5 याहवेह, आपका करुणा-प्रेम स्वर्ग तक, तथा आपकी विश्वासयोग्यता आकाशमंडल तक व्याप्‍त है.

Lord, thi merci is in heuene; and thi treuthe is `til to cloudis.

6 आपकी धार्मिकता विशाल पर्वत समान, तथा आपकी सच्चाई अथाह महासागर तुल्य है. याहवेह, आप ही मनुष्य एवं पशु, दोनों के परिरक्षक हैं.

Thi riytfulnesse is as the hillis of God; thi domes ben myche depthe of watris. Lord, thou schalt saue men and beestis;

7 कैसा अप्रतिम है आपका करुणा-प्रेम! आपके पंखों की छाया में साधारण और विशिष्ट, सभी मनुष्य आश्रय लेते हैं.

as thou, God, hast multiplied thi merci. But the sones of men; schulen hope in the hilyng of thi wyngis.

8 वे आपके आवास के उत्कृष्ट भोजन से तृप्‍त होते हैं; आप सुख की नदी से उनकी प्यास बुझाते हैं.

Thei schulen be fillid gretli of the plentee of thin hows; and thou schalt yyue drynke to hem with the steef streem of thi likyng.

9 आप ही जीवन के स्रोत हैं; आपके प्रकाश के द्वारा ही हमें ज्योति का भास होता है.

For the wel of life is at thee; and in thi liyt we schulen se liyt.

10 जिनमें आपके प्रति श्रद्धा है, उन पर आप अपना करुणा-प्रेम एवं जिनमें आपके प्रति सच्चाई है, उन पर अपनी धार्मिकता बनाए रखें.

Lord, sette forth thi mercy to hem, that knowen thee; and thi ryytfulnesse to hem that ben of riytful herte.

11 मुझे अहंकारी का पैर कुचल न पाए, और न दुष्ट का हाथ मुझे बाहर धकेल सके.

The foot of pryde come not to me; and the hond of the synnere moue me not.

12 कुकर्मियों का अंत हो चुका है, वे ज़मीन-दोस्त हो चुके हैं, वे ऐसे फेंक दिए गए हैं, कि अब वे उठ नहीं पा रहे!

There thei felden doun, that worchen wickidnesse; thei ben cast out, and myyten not stonde.
