भजन संहिता 19
1 संगीत निर्देशक के लिये. दावीद का एक स्तोत्र. स्वर्ग परमेश्वर की महिमा को प्रगट करता है; अंतरीक्ष उनकी हस्तकृति का प्रघोषण करता है.
“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” The heavens relate the glory of God; and the expanse telleth of the works of his hands.
2 हर एक दिन आगामी दिन से इस विषय में वार्तालाप करता है; हर एक रात्रि आगामी रात्रि को ज्ञान की शक्ति प्रगट करती है.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge.
3 इस प्रक्रिया में न तो कोई बोली है, न ही कोई शब्द; यहां तक कि इसमें कोई आवाज़ भी नहीं है.
There is no speech, there are no words, their voice is not heard.
4 इनका स्वर संपूर्ण पृथ्वी पर गूंजता रहता है, इनका संदेश पृथ्वी के छोर तक जा पहुंचता है. परमेश्वर ने स्वर्ग में सूर्य के लिए एक मंडप तैयार किया है.
[But] their melody extendeth through all the earth, and to the end of the world their words. For the sun hath he set a tabernacle among them;
5 और सूर्य एक वर के समान है, जो अपने मंडप से बाहर आ रहा है, एक बड़े शूरवीर के समान, जिसके लिए दौड़ एक आनन्दप्रदायी कृत्य है.
And he goeth out as a bridegroom from his chamber, he is glad like a strong man to run his course;
6 वह आकाश के एक सिरे से उदय होता है, तथा दूसरे सिरे तक चक्कर मारता है; उसके ताप से कुछ भी छुपा नहीं रहता.
From the end of the heavens is his going forth, and his circuit is unto their ends: and there is nothing hidden from his heat.
7 संपूर्ण है याहवेह की व्यवस्था, जो आत्मा की संजीवनी है. विश्वासयोग्य हैं याहवेह के अधिनियम, जो साधारण लोगों को बुद्धिमान बनाते हैं.
The law of the Lord is perfect, quieting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8 धर्ममय हैं याहवेह के नीति सूत्र, जो हृदय का उल्लास हैं. शुद्ध हैं याहवेह के आदेश, जो आंखों में ज्योति ले आते हैं.
The precepts of the Lord are upright, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes.
9 निर्मल है याहवेह की श्रद्धा, जो अमर है. सत्य हैं याहवेह के नियम, जो पूर्णतः धर्ममय हैं.
The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring for ever: the ordinances of the Lord are the truth, they are just altogether.
10 वे स्वर्ण से भी अधिक मूल्यवान हैं, हां, उत्तम कुन्दन से भी अधिक, वे मधु से अधिक मधुर हैं, हां, मधुछत्ते से टपकते मधु से भी अधिक मधुर.
They are those which are to be desired more than gold, and much fine gold; and they are sweeter than honey and the dropping of honeycomb.
11 इन्हीं के द्वारा आपके सेवक को चेतावनी मिलती हैं; इनके पालन करने से बड़ा प्रतिफल प्राप्त होता है.
Moreover thy servant is admonished by them: in keeping them there is great reward.
12 अपनी भूल-चूक का ज्ञान किसे होता है? अज्ञानता में किए गए मेरे पापों को क्षमा कर दीजिए.
Who can guard against errors? from secret [faults] do thou cleanse me.
13 अपने सेवक को ढिठाई के पाप करने से रोके रहिए; वे मुझे अधीन करने न पाएं. तब मैं निरपराध बना रहूंगा, मैं बड़े अपराधों का दोषी न रहूंगा.
Also from presumptuous [sins] withhold thy servant; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be blameless, and I shall be clear from any great transgression.
14 याहवेह, मेरी चट्टान और मेरे उद्धारक, मेरे मुख का वचन तथा मेरे हृदय का चिंतन आपको स्वीकार्य हो.
May the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable before thee, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer.
