भजन संहिता 140
1 संगीत निर्देशक के लिये. दावीद का एक स्तोत्र. याहवेह, दुष्ट पुरुषों से मुझे उद्धार प्रदान कीजिए; हिंसक पुरुषों से मेरी रक्षा कीजिए,
Deliver me, Adonai, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man;
2 वे मन ही मन अनर्थ षड़्यंत्र रचते रहते हैं और सदैव युद्ध ही भड़काते रहते हैं.
those who devise mischief in their hearts. They continually gather themselves together for war.
3 उन्होंने अपनी जीभ सर्प सी तीखी बना रखी है; उनके होंठों के नीचे नाग का विष भरा है.
They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. Viper’s poison is under their lips. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
4 याहवेह, दुष्टों से मेरी रक्षा कीजिए; मुझे उन हिंसक पुरुषों से सुरक्षा प्रदान कीजिए, जिन्होंने, मेरे पैरों को उखाड़ने के लिए युक्ति की है.
Adonai, keep me from the hands of the wicked. Preserve me from the violent men who have determined to trip my feet.
5 उन अहंकारियों ने मेरे पैरों के लिए एक फंदा बनाकर छिपा दिया है; तथा रस्सियों का एक जाल भी बिछा दिया है, मार्ग के किनारे उन्होंने मेरे ही लिए फंदे लगा रखे हैं.
The proud have hidden a snare for me, they have spread the cords of a net by the path. They have set traps for me. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
6 मैं याहवेह से कहता हूं, “आप ही मेरे परमेश्वर हैं.” याहवेह, कृपा करके मेरी पुकार पर ध्यान दीजिए.
I said to Adonai, “You are my God.” Listen to the cry of my petitions, Adonai.
7 याहवेह, मेरे प्रभु, आप ही मेरे उद्धार का बल हैं, युद्ध के समय आप ही मेरे सिर का आवरण बने.
Adonai the 'Adonay [Yahweh the Lord], the strength of my yishu'ah ·salvation·, you have covered my head in the day of battle.
8 दुष्टों की अभिलाषा पूर्ण न होने दें, याहवेह; उनकी बुरी युक्ति आगे बढ़ने न पाए अन्यथा वे गर्व में ऊंचे हो जाएंगे.
Adonai, don’t grant the desires of the wicked. Don’t let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
9 जिन्होंने इस समय मुझे घेरा हुआ है; उनके होंठों द्वारा उत्पन्न कार्य उन्हीं के सिर पर आ पड़े.
As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10 उनके ऊपर जलते हुए कोयलों की वृष्टि हो; वे आग में फेंक दिए जाएं, वे दलदल के गड्ढे में डाल दिए जाएं, कि वे उससे बाहर ही न निकल सकें.
Let burning coals fall on them. Let them be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, from where they never rise.
11 निंदक इस भूमि पर अपने पैर ही न जमा सकें; हिंसक पुरुष अति शीघ्र बुराई द्वारा पकड़े जाएं.
An evil speaker won’t be established in the earth. Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
12 मैं जानता हूं कि याहवेह दुखित का पक्ष अवश्य लेंगे तथा दीन को न्याय भी दिलाएंगे.
I know that Adonai will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and mishpat ·justice· for the needy.
13 निश्चयतः धर्मी आपके नाम का आभार मानेंगे, सीधे आपकी उपस्थिति में निवास करेंगे.
Surely the upright will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to your name. The upright will dwell in your presence.
