1 आराधना के लिए यात्रियों का गीत. याहवेह, दावीद को और उनके द्वारा झेली गई समस्त विषमताओं को स्मरण कीजिए.
A Song of Ascents. Remember, O Yahweh, unto David, all his humiliations!
2 उन्होंने याहवेह की शपथ खाई, तथा याकोब के सर्वशक्तिमान से शपथ की थी:
What he Sware to Yahweh, —Vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 “मैं न तो तब तक घर में प्रवेश करूंगा और न मैं अपने बिछौने पर जाऊंगा,
Surely I will not enter the home of my own house, nor ascend my curtained couch;
4 न तो मैं अपनी आंखों में नींद आने दूंगा और न पलकों में झपकी,
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor, to mine eye-lashes, slumber:
5 जब तक मुझे याहवेह के लिए एक स्थान उपलब्ध न हो जाए, याकोब के सर्वशक्तिमान के आवास के लिए.”
Until I find a place for Yahweh, habitations for the Mighty One of Jacob.
6 इसके विषय में हमने एफ़राथा में सुना, याअर के मैदान में भी यही पाया गया:
Lo! we heard of it at Ephrathah, we found it in the fields of the wood.
7 “आओ, हम उनके आवास को चलें; हम उनके चरणों में जाकर आराधना करें.
We would enter his habitations, we would bow down at his footstool.
8 ‘याहवेह, अब उठकर अपने विश्राम स्थल पर आ जाइए, आप और आपकी सामर्थ्य का संदूक भी.
Arise! O Yahweh, unto thy place of rest, Thou, and the ark of thy strength.
9 आपके पुरोहित धर्म के वस्त्र पहिने हुए हों; और आपके सात्विक हर्ष गीत गाएं.’”
Thy priests, let them be clothed with righteousness, Thy men of lovingkindness, let them shout for joy!
10 अपने सेवक दावीद के निमित्त, अपने अभिषिक्त को न ठुकराईए.
For the sake of David thy servant, do not turn away the face of thine Anointed One.
11 याहवेह ने दावीद से शपथ खाई थी, एक ऐसी शपथ, जिसे वह तोड़ेंगे नहीं: “तुम्हारे ही अपने वंशजों में से एक को मैं तुम्हारे सिंहासन पर विराजमान करूंगा.
Yahweh hath sworn unto David, in faithfulness, will he not turn from it, —Of the fruit of thy body, will I seat on thy throne.
12 यदि तुम्हारे वंशज मेरी वाचा का पालन करेंगे तथा मेरे द्वारा सिखाए गए उपदेशों का पालन करेंगे, तब उनकी संतान भी तुम्हारे सिंहासन पर सदा-सर्वदा के लिए विराजमान होगी.”
If thy sons keep my covenant, and my testimony which I will teach them, even their sons, unto futurity, shall sit on thy throne.
13 क्योंकि ज़ियोन याहवेह द्वारा ही निर्धारित किया गया है, अपने आवास के लिए याहवेह की यही अभिलाषा है.
For Yahweh hath chosen Zion, —He hath desired it as a dwelling for himself:
14 “यह सदा-सर्वदा के लिए मेरा विश्रान्ति स्थल है; मैं यहीं सिंहासन पर विराजमान रहूंगा, क्योंकि यही मेरी अभिलाषा है.
This, is my place of rest unto futurity, Here, will I dwell, for I have desired it;
15 उसके लिए मेरी आशीष बड़ी योजना होगी; मैं इसके दरिद्रों को भोजन से तृप्‍त करूंगा.
Her provision, will I abundantly bless, Her needy ones, will I satisfy with bread;
16 उसके पुरोहितों को मैं उद्धार के परिधानों से सुसज्जित करूंगा, और उसके निवासी सात्विक सदैव हर्षगान गाते रहेंगे.
And, her priests, will I clothe with salvation, and, her men of lovingkindness, shall, shout aloud, for joy;
17 “यहां मैं दावीद के वंश को बढाऊंगा, मैं अपने अभिषिक्त के लिए एक दीप स्थापित करूंगा.
There, will I cause to bud a horn to David, I have prepared a lamp for mine Anointed One;
18 मैं उसके शत्रुओं को लज्जा के वस्त्र पहनाऊंगा, किंतु उसके अपने सिर का मुकुट उज्जवल रहेगा.”
His enemies, will I clothe with shame, but, upon himself, shall his crown be resplendent.
