भजन संहिता 123

1 आराधना के लिए यात्रियों का गीत. मैं अपनी आंखें आपकी ओर उठाए हुए हूं, आपकी ओर, जिनका सिंहासन स्वर्ग में स्थापित है.

“A song of the degrees.” Unto thee do I lift up my eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

2 वैसे ही जिस प्रकार दासों की दृष्टि अपने स्वामी के हाथ की ओर लगी रहती है, जैसी दासी की दृष्टि अपनी स्वामिनी के हाथ की ओर लगी रहती है. ठीक इसी प्रकार हमारी दृष्टि याहवेह, हमारे परमेश्वर की ओर लगी रहती है, जब तक वह हम पर कृपादृष्टि नहीं करते.

Behold, as the eyes of servants are directed unto the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress: thus are our eyes directed unto the Lord our God, until he be gracious unto us.

3 हम पर कृपा कीजिए, याहवेह, हम पर कृपा कीजिए, हमने बहुत तिरस्कार सहा है.

Be gracious unto us, O Lord! be gracious unto us; for we are overburdened with contempt.

4 हमने अहंकारियों द्वारा घोर उपहास भी सहा है, हम अहंकारियों के घोर घृणा के पात्र होकर रह गए हैं.

Our soul is overburdened with the scorn of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud oppressors.
