भजन संहिता 114

1 जब इस्राएली मिस्र देश से बाहर आए, जब याकोब के वंशज विदेशी भाषा-भाषी देश से बाहर आए,

When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a barbarous people:

2 तब यहूदिया उनका पवित्र स्थान और इस्राएल प्रदेश उनका शासित राष्ट्र हो गया.

Judea made his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

3 यह देख समुद्र पलायन कर गया, और यरदन नदी विपरीत दिशा में प्रवाहित होने लगी;

The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back.

4 पर्वत मेढ़ों के तथा पहाड़ियां मेमनों के समान, छलांग लगाने लगीं.

The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like the lambs of the flock.

5 समुद्र, यह बताओ, तुमने पलायन क्यों किया? और यरदन, तुम्हें उलटा क्यों बहना पड़ा?

What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou didst flee: and thou, O Jordan, that thou wast turned back?

6 पर्वतो, तुम मेढ़ों के समान तथा पहाड़ियो, तुम मेमनों के समान छलांगें क्यों लगाने लगे?

Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and ye hills, like lambs of the flock?

7 पृथ्वी, तुम याहवेह की उपस्थिति में थरथराओ, याकोब के परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में,

At the presence of the Lord the earth was moved, at the presence of the God of Jacob:

8 जिन्होंने चट्टान को ताल में बदल दिया, और उस कठोर पत्थर को जल के सोते में.

Who turned the rock into pools of water, and the stony hill into fountains of waters.
