नीतिवचन 25
1 ये भी राजा शलोमोन के ही कुछ और नीति वाक्य हैं, जिन्हें यहूदिया राज्य के राजा हिज़किय्याह के लोगों ने तैयार किया है:
Also these [are] [the] proverbs of Solomon which they copied [the] men of - Hezekiah [the] king of Judah.
2 परमेश्वर की महिमा इसमें है कि वह किसी विषय को गुप्त रख देते हैं; जबकि राजा की महिमा किसी विषय की गहराई तक खोजने में होती है.
[is] [the] glory of God to conceal a matter and [is the] glory of kings to search out a matter.
3 जैसे आकाश की ऊंचाई और पृथ्वी की गहराई, उसी प्रकार राजाओं का हृदय भी रहस्यमय होता है.
Heaven for height and earth for depth and [the] heart of kings there not [is] inquiry.
4 चांदी में से खोट दूर कर दो, तो चांदीकार के लिए शुद्ध चांदी शेष रह जाती है.
Remove dross from silver and it came out for the metalsmith a vessel.
5 राजा के सामने से दुष्टों को हटा दो, तो राज सिंहासन धर्म में प्रतिष्ठित हो जाएगा.
Remove [the] wicked before a king so it may be established in righteousness throne his.
6 न तो राजा के समक्ष स्वयं को सम्मान्य प्रमाणित करो, और न ही किसी प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्ति का स्थान लेने का प्रयास करो;
May not you claim honor before a king and in [the] place of great [people] may not you stand.
7 क्योंकि उत्तम तो यह होगा कि राजा ही तुम्हें आमंत्रित कर यह कहे, “यहां मेरे पास आओ,” इसकी अपेक्षा कि तुम्हें सब की दृष्टि में निम्नतर स्थान पर जाने का आदेश दिया जाए.
For [is] better to say to you come up here than to set low you before a noble [person] whom they have seen eyes your.
8 मात्र इसलिये कि तुमने कुछ देख लिया है, मुकदमा चलाने की उतावली न करना.
May not you go forth to contest a lawsuit quickly lest what? will you do at end its when puts to shame you neighbor your.
9 विवादास्पद विषय पर सीधा उसी व्यक्ति से विचार-विमर्श कर लो, और किसी अन्य व्यक्ति का रहस्य प्रकाशित न करना,
Own case your conduct with neighbor your and [the] secret of another [person] may not you reveal.
10 कहीं ऐसा न हो कि कोई इसे सुन ले, यह तुम्हारे ही लिए लज्जा का कारण हो जाए और तुम्हारी प्रतिष्ठा स्थायी रूप से नष्ट हो जाए.
Lest he should bring shame you [one who] hears and evil report your not it will turn back.
11 उचित अवसर पर कहा हुआ वचन चांदी के पात्र में प्रस्तुत स्वर्ण के सेब के समान होता है.
Apples of gold in settings of silver a word spoken on proper times its.
12 तत्पर श्रोता के लिए ज्ञानवान व्यक्ति की चेतावनी वैसी ही होती है जैसे स्वर्ण कर्णफूल अथवा स्वर्ण आभूषण.
An earring of gold and an ornament of pure gold [one who] reproves wise on an ear listening.
13 कटनी के समय की उष्णता में ठंडे पानी के पेय के समान होता है, प्रेषक के लिए वह दूत, जो विश्वासयोग्य है; वह अपने स्वामी के हृदय को प्रफुल्लित कर देता है.
[is] like [the] cold of Snow - on a day of harvest an envoy faithful to [those who] sent him and [the] life of masters his he will restore.
14 बारिश के बिना बादलों और हवा की तरह है जो व्यक्ति उपहार तो देता नहीं, किंतु सबके समक्ष देने की डींग मारता रहता है.
Clouds and wind and [is] rain there not a person [who] boasts in a gift of falsehood.
15 धैर्य के द्वारा शासक को भी मनाया जा सकता है, और कोमलता में कहे गए वचन से हड्डी को भी तोड़ा जा सकता है.
By length of anger he will be persuaded a ruler and a tongue soft it will break bone.
16 यदि तुम्हें कहीं मधु प्राप्त हो जाए, तो उतना ही खाना, जितना पर्याप्त है, सीमा से अधिक खाओगे तो, तुम उसे उगल दोगे.
Honey you have found eat sufficiency your lest you should be surfeited with it and you will vomit up it.
17 उत्तम तो यह होगा कि तुम्हारे पड़ोसी के घर में तुम्हारे पैर कम ही पडे़ं, ऐसा न हो कि वह तुमसे ऊब जाए और तुमसे घृणा करने लगे.
Make rare foot your from [the] house of neighbor your lest he should be surfeited with you and he will hate you.
18 वह व्यक्ति, जो अपने पड़ोसी के विरुद्ध झूठा साक्षी हो जाता है, वह युद्ध के लिए प्रयुक्त लाठी, तलवार अथवा बाण के समान है.
A war-club and a sword and an arrow sharpened a person [who] testifies against neighbor his a witness of falsehood.
19 विपदा के अवसर पर ऐसे व्यक्ति पर भरोसा रखना, जिस पर विश्वास नहीं किया जा सकता, वैसा ही होता है, जैसे सड़े दांत अथवा टूटे पैर पर भरोसा रखना.
A tooth broken and a foot slipped [the] trust of [one who] acts treacherously in a day of trouble.
20 दुःख में डूबे व्यक्ति के समक्ष हर्ष गीत गाने का वैसा ही प्रभाव होता है, जैसा शीतकाल में किसी को विवस्त्र कर देना अथवा किसी के घावों पर सिरका मल देना.
[one who] removes A garment - on a day of coldness vinegar on soda and [one who] sings the songs to a heart sad.
21 यदि तुम्हारा विरोधी भूखा है, उसे भोजन कराओ, यदि प्यासा है, उसे पीने के लिए जल दो;
If [is] hungry [one who] hates you give to eat him food and if thirsty give to drink him water.
22 इससे तुम उसके सिर पर प्रज्वलित कोयलों का ढेर लगा दोगे, और तुम्हें याहवेह की ओर से पारितोषिक प्राप्त होगा.
For burning coals you [will] snatch up on head his and Yahweh he will repay to you.
23 जैसे उत्तरी वायु प्रवाह वृष्टि का उत्पादक होता है, वैसे ही पीठ पीछे पर निंदा करती जीभ शीघ्र क्रोधी मुद्रा उत्पन्न करती है.
A wind of [the] north it brings forth rain and faces indignant a tongue of secrecy.
24 विवादी पत्नी के साथ घर में निवास करने से कहीं अधिक श्रेष्ठ है छत के एक कोने में रह लेना.
[is] good To dwell on [the] corner of a roof more than a woman of (contentions *Q(K)*) and a house of association.
25 दूर देश से आया शुभ संदेश वैसा ही होता है, जैसा प्यासी आत्मा को दिया गया शीतल जल.
Water cool on a person weary and a report good from a land of distance.
26 वह धर्मी व्यक्ति, जो दुष्टों के आगे झुक जाता है, गंदले सोते तथा दूषित कुओं-समान होता है.
A spring fouled and a fountain ruined a righteous [person] [who] sways before a wicked [person].
27 मधु का अत्यधिक सेवन किसी प्रकार लाभकर नहीं होता, ठीक इसी प्रकार अपने लिए सम्मान से और अधिक सम्मान का यत्न करना लाभकर नहीं होता.
To eat honey much not [is] good and [the] search of own honor their [is] an honor.
28 वह व्यक्ति, जिसका स्वयं पर कोई नियंत्रण नहीं है, वैसा ही है, जैसा वह नगर, जिसकी सुरक्षा के लिए कोई दीवार नहीं है.
A city broken into there not [is] a wall a person whom not control [belongs] to spirit his.
