नीतिवचन 24

1 दुष्टों से ईर्ष्या न करना, उनके साहचर्य की कामना भी न करना;

May not you be jealous of people of evil and may not (you desire *Q(k)*) to be with them.

2 उनके मस्तिष्क में हिंसा की युक्ति तैयार होती रहती है, और उनके मुख से हानिकर शब्द ही निकलते हैं.

For violence it plots heart their and trouble lips their they speak.

3 गृह-निर्माण के लिए विद्वत्ता आवश्यक होती है, और इसकी स्थापना के लिए चतुरता;

By wisdom it is built a house and by understanding it is established.

4 ज्ञान के द्वारा घर के कक्षों में सभी प्रकार की बहुमूल्य तथा सुखदाई वस्तुएं सजाई जाती हैं.

And by knowledge rooms they are filled all wealth precious and pleasant.

5 ज्ञानवान व्यक्ति शक्तिमान व्यक्ति होता है, विद्वान अपनी शक्ति में वृद्धि करता जाता है.

A man wise [who is] in strength and a person of knowledge [is] making firm strength.

6 क्योंकि कुशल दिशा-निर्देश के द्वारा ही युद्ध में तुम आक्रमण कर सकते हो, अनेक परामर्शदाताओं के परामर्श से विजय सुनिश्चित हो जाती है.

For by wise directions you will make for yourself war and victory [is] in a multitude of counselor[s].

7 मूर्ख के लिए ज्ञान पहुंच के बाहर होता है; बुद्धिमानों की सभा में वह चुप रह जाता है.

[are] high For a fool wisdom in the gate not he opens mouth his.

8 वह, जो अनर्थ की युक्ति करता है वह षड़्‍यंत्रकारी के रूप में कुख्यात हो जाता है.

[one who] plans To do evil him master of plots people will call.

9 मूर्खतापूर्ण योजना वस्तुतः पाप ही है, और ज्ञान का ठट्ठा करनेवाला सभी के लिए तिरस्कार बन जाता है.

A plan of foolishness [is] sin and [is] an abomination to humankind a mocker.

10 कठिन परिस्थिति में तुम्हारा हताश होना तुम्हारी सीमित शक्ति का कारण है.

You have shown yourself without courage in a day of trouble [is] narrow strength your.

11 जिन्हें मृत्यु दंड के लिए ले जाया जा रहा है, उन्हें विमुक्त कर दो; और वे, जो लड़खड़ाते पैरों से अपने ही वध की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं, उन्हें वहीं रोक लो.

Deliver [those being] taken to death and [those who] are staggering to the slaughter if you will restrain.

12 यदि तुम यह कहो, “देखिए, इस विषय में हमें तो कुछ भी ज्ञात नहीं था.” क्या वे, परमेश्वर जो मन को जांचनेवाले हैं, यह सब नहीं समझते? क्या उन्हें, जो तुम्हारे जीवन के रक्षक हैं, यह ज्ञात नहीं? क्या वह सभी को उनके कार्यों के अनुरूप प्रतिफल न देंगे?

If you will say here! not we knew this ¿ not [one who] weighs hearts - he does he perceive and [one who] guards life your he does he know? and will he repay? to a person according to work his.

13 मेरे प्रिय बालक, मधु का सेवन करो क्योंकि यह भला है; छत्ते से टपकता हुआ मधु स्वादिष्ट होता है.

Eat O son my honey for [it is] good and honey from [the] comb [is] sweet on palate your.

14 यह भी समझ लो, कि तुम्हारे जीवन में ज्ञान भी ऐसी ही है: यदि तुम इसे अपना लोगे तो उज्जवल होगा तुम्हारा भविष्य, और तुम्हारी आशाएं अपूर्ण न रह जाएंगी.

Thus - know! wisdom for self your if you find [it] and there [is] a future and hope your not it will be cut off.

15 दुष्ट व्यक्ति! धर्मी व्यक्ति के घर पर घात लगाकर न बैठ और न उसके विश्रामालय को नष्ट करने की युक्ति कर;

May not you lie in wait wicked [person] to [the] habitation of a righteous [person] may not you devastate resting place his.

16 क्योंकि सात बार गिरने पर भी धर्मी व्यक्ति पुनः उठ खड़ा होता है, किंतु दुष्टों को विपत्ति नष्ट कर जाती है.

For seven [times] - he will fall a righteous [person] and he will rise and wicked [people] they will stumble in trouble.

17 तुम्हारे विरोधी का पतन तुम्हारे हर्ष का विषय न हो; और उन्हें ठोकर लगने पर तुम आनंदित न होना,

When falls (enemy your *Q(K)*) may not you rejoice and when stumbles he may not it rejoice heart your.

18 ऐसा न हो कि यह याहवेह की अप्रसन्‍नता का विषय हो जाए और उन पर से याहवेह का क्रोध जाता रहे.

Lest he should see Yahweh and it will be displeasing in view his and he will turn back from towards him anger his.

19 दुष्टों के वैभव को देख कुढ़ने न लगाना और न बुराइयों की जीवनशैली से ईर्ष्या करना,

May not you fret yourself by evil-doers may not you be jealous of wicked [people].

20 क्योंकि दुष्ट का कोई भविष्य नहीं होता, उनके जीवनदीप का बुझना निर्धारित है.

For - not it will belong a future to the evil [person] [the] lamp of wicked [people] it will be extinguished.

21 मेरे पुत्र, याहवेह तथा राजा के प्रति श्रद्धा बनाए रखो, उनसे दूर रहो, जिनमें विद्रोही प्रवृत्ति है,

Fear Yahweh O son my and [the] king with [those who] change may not you get involved.

22 सर्वनाश उन पर अचानक रूप से आ पड़ेगा और इसका अनुमान कौन लगा सकता है, कि याहवेह और राजा द्वारा उन पर भयानक विनाश का रूप कैसा होगा?

For suddenly it will arise calamity their and [the] disaster of both of them who? [is] knowing.

23 ये भी बुद्धिमानों द्वारा बोली गई सूक्तियां हैं: न्याय में पक्षपात करना उचित नहीं है:

Also these [belong] to wise [people] to pay regard to face in judgment not [is] good.

24 जो कोई अपराधी से कहता है, “तुम निर्दोष हो,” वह लोगों द्वारा शापित किया जाएगा तथा अन्य राष्ट्रों द्वारा घृणास्पद समझा जाएगा.

[one who] says - To a wicked [person] [are] righteous you they will curse him peoples they will denounce him nations.

25 किंतु जो अपराधी को फटकारते हैं उल्‍लसित रहेंगे, और उन पर सुखद आशीषों की वृष्टि होगी.

And for the [ones who] rebuke [them] it will be pleasant and on them it will come blessing of good thing[s].

26 सुसंगत प्रत्युत्तर होंठों पर किए गए चुम्बन-समान सुखद होता है.

Lips he kisses [one who] bring back words right.

27 पहले अपने बाह्य कार्य पूर्ण करके खेत को तैयार कर लो और तब अपना गृह-निर्माण करो.

Establish on the outside - work your and make ready it in the field for yourself after and you will build house your.

28 बिना किसी संगत के कारण अपने पड़ोसी के विरुद्ध साक्षी न देना, और न अपनी साक्षी के द्वारा उसे झूठा प्रमाणित करना.

May not you be a witness without cause in neighbor your and ¿ will you deceive with lips your.

29 यह कभी न कहना, “मैं उसके साथ वैसा ही करूंगा, जैसा उसने मेरे साथ किया है; उसने मेरे साथ जो कुछ किया है, मैं उसका बदला अवश्य लूंगा.”

May not you say just as he has done to me so I will do to him I will repay to the person according to deed his.

30 मैं उस आलसी व्यक्ति की वाटिका के पास से निकल रहा था, वह मूर्ख व्यक्ति था, जिसकी वह द्राक्षावाटिका थी.

At [the] field of a person lazy I passed by and at [the] vineyard of a person lacking of heart.

31 मैंने देखा कि समस्त वाटिका में, कंटीली झाड़ियां बढ़ आई थीं, सारी भूमि पर बिच्छू बूटी छा गई थी.

And there! it had grown up all of it - thorns they were covered surface its nettles and [the] wall of stones its it was broken down.

32 यह सब देख मैं विचार करने लगा, जो कुछ मैंने देखा उससे मुझे यह शिक्षा प्राप्‍त हुई:

And I saw I I set heart my I saw I received instruction.

33 थोड़ी और नींद, थोड़ा और विश्राम, कुछ देर और हाथ पर हाथ रखे हुए विश्राम,

A little of sleep a little of slumber a little of - folding of hands to rest.

34 तब देखना निर्धनता कैसे तुझ पर डाकू के समान टूट पड़ती है और गरीबी, सशस्त्र पुरुष के समान.

And it will come going about poverty your and poverti your like a man of shield.
