मत्ती 8
1 जब येशु पर्वत से उतरकर आए तब बड़ी भीड़ उनके पीछे-पीछे चलने लगी.
And many multitudes followed Him, coming down from the mountain.
2 एक कोढ़ के रोगी ने उनके सामने झुककर उनसे विनती करके कहा, “प्रभु, यदि आप चाहें तो मुझे शुद्ध कर सकते हैं.”
And behold, a leper, having come, continued to worship Him, saying; Lord, if you may be willing, you are able to cleanse me.
3 येशु ने हाथ बढ़ाकर उसे स्पर्श करते हुए कहा, “मैं चाहता हूं. शुद्ध हो जाओ.” वह उसी क्षण कोढ़ रोग से शुद्ध हो गया.
And Jesus, reaching forth His hand, touched him, saying, I am willing; be thou cleansed. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 येशु ने उसे आज्ञा दी, “यह ध्यान रहे कि तुम इसके विषय में किसी को न बताओ. अब जाकर पुरोहित के सामने स्वयं को परीक्षण के लिए प्रस्तुत करो, और मोशेह द्वारा निर्धारित बलि भेंट करो कि तुम्हारा स्वास्थ्य-लाभ उनके सामने गवाही हो जाए.”
And Jesus says to him, See that you may tell no one; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
5 जब येशु ने कफ़रनहूम नगर में प्रवेश किया, तब एक शताधिपति ने आकर उनसे नम्रतापूर्वक निवेदन किया,
And He having come into Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, entreating Him,
6 “प्रभु, घर पर मेरा सेवक लकवा रोग से पीड़ित है और वह घोर पीड़ा में है.”
and saying; Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, terribly tormented.
7 येशु ने उसे आश्वासन दिया, “मैं आकर उसे चंगा करूंगा.”
And Jesus says to him, Having come I will heal him.
8 किंतु शताधिपति ने कहा, “नहीं प्रभु, नहीं, मैं इस योग्य नहीं कि आप मेरे घर आएं. आप केवल मुंह से कह दीजिए और मेरा सेवक स्वस्थ हो जाएगा.
And the centurion responding said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou mayest come in under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant will be healed.
9 मैं स्वयं बड़े अधिकारियों के अधीन नियुक्त हूं और सैनिक मेरे अधिकार में हैं. मैं किसी को आदेश देता हूं, ‘जाओ!’ तो वह जाता है, और किसी को आदेश देता हूं, ‘इधर आओ!’ तो वह आता है. अपने सेवक से कहता हूं, ‘यह करो!’ तो वह वही करता है.”
For I am also a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.
10 यह सुनकर येशु आश्चर्यचकित रह गए. उन्होंने पीछे आ रही भीड़ से कहा, “यह एक सच है कि मैंने इस्राएल राष्ट्र में भी किसी में ऐसा विश्वास नहीं देखा.
And Jesus hearing, was astonished, and said to those following, Truly I say unto you, I did not find so great faith in Israel.
11 मैं तुम्हें सूचित करना चाहता हूं कि स्वर्ग-राज्य में अब्राहाम, यित्सहाक और याकोब के साथ भोज में शामिल होने के लिए पूर्व और पश्चिम दिशाओं से अनेकानेक आकर संगति करेंगे,
And I say unto you, that many will come from the east and from the west, and sit up with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of the heavens:
12 किंतु राज्य के वारिस बाहर अंधकार में फेंक दिए जाएंगे. वह स्थान ऐसा होगा जहां रोना और दांत पीसना होता रहेगा.”
but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: and there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 तब येशु ने शताधिपति से कहा, “जाओ, तुम्हारे लिए वैसा ही होगा जैसा तुम्हारा विश्वास है.” उसी क्षण वह सेवक चंगा हो गया.
And Jesus said to the centurion, Go; and let it be done unto thee as thou hast believed. And his servant was healed at that hour.
14 जब येशु पेतरॉस के घर पर आए, उन्होंने उनकी सास को बुखार से पीड़ित पाया.
And Jesus having come into the house of Peter, saw his mother-in-law prostrated and burning with fever.
15 उन्होंने उनके हाथ का स्पर्श किया और वह बुखार से मुक्त हो गई और उठकर उन सब की सेवा करने में जुट गई.
And He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose, and began to minister unto them.
16 जब संध्या हुई तब लोग दुष्टात्मा से पीड़ित लोगों को उनके पास लाने लगे और येशु अपने वचन मात्र से उन्हें दुष्टात्मा मुक्त करते गए, साथ ही रोगियों को स्वस्थ.
And it being evening, they brought to Him many demonized people: and He cast out the demons by His word, and healed all the sick;
17 यह भविष्यवक्ता यशायाह द्वारा की गई इस भविष्यवाणी की पूर्ति थी: “उन्होंने स्वयं हमारी दुर्बलताओं को अपने ऊपर ले लिया तथा हमारे रोगों को उठा लिया.”
in order that the word spoken by Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, He took our infirmities, and carried our sicknesses.
18 अपने आस-पास भीड़ को देख येशु ने शिष्यों को झील की दूसरी ओर जाने की आज्ञा दी.
And Jesus seeing the multitudes about Him, gave command to go away to the other side.
19 उसी समय एक शास्त्री ने आकर येशु से विनती की, “गुरुवर, आप जहां कहीं जाएंगे, मैं आपके साथ रहूंगा.”
And one scribe having come, said to Him, Teacher, I will follow thee whithersoever thou mayest go.
20 येशु ने उसके उत्तर में कहा, “लोमड़ियों के पास उनकी गुफाएं तथा आकाश के पक्षियों के पास उनके बसेरे होते हैं, किंतु मनुष्य के पुत्र के पास तो सिर रखने तक का स्थान नहीं है!”
And Jesus says to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of heaven nests; but the Son of man has not where He may recline His head.
21 एक अन्य शिष्य ने उनसे विनती की, “प्रभु मुझे पहले अपने पिता की अंत्येष्टि की अनुमति दे दीजिए.”
And another of His disciples said to Him, Lord, permit me first to go away and bury my father.
22 किंतु येशु ने उससे कहा, “मृत अपने मरे हुओं का प्रबंध कर लेंगे, तुम मेरे पीछे हो लो.”
And Jesus says to him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
23 जब उन्होंने नाव में प्रवेश किया उनके शिष्य भी उनके साथ हो लिए.
And His disciples followed Him, having come into the ship.
24 अचानक झील में ऐसा प्रचंड आंधी उठी कि लहरों ने नाव को ढांक लिया, किंतु येशु इस समय सो रहे थे.
And behold, there was a great storm on the sea, so that the ship was covered by the waves: and He was asleep.
25 इस पर शिष्यों ने येशु के पास जाकर उन्हें जगाते हुए कहा, “प्रभु, हमारी रक्षा कीजिए, हम नाश हुए जा रहे हैं!”
And the disciples having come, awoke Him, saying, Lord, save us; we are perishing.
26 येशु ने उनसे कहा, “क्यों डर रहे हो, अल्पविश्वासियो!” वह उठे और उन्होंने आंधी और झील को डांटा, और उसी क्षण ही पूरी शांति छा गई.
And He says to them, Why are you afraid, O ye of little faith? Then having arisen, He rebuked the wind and the sea; and there was a great calm.
27 शिष्य हैरान रह गए, और विचार करने लगे, “ये किस प्रकार के व्यक्ति हैं कि आंधी और झील तक इनकी आज्ञा का पालन करते हैं!”
And the men were astonished, saying, What sort of a man is this, because winds and the sea obey him?
28 झील पार कर वे गदारा नामक प्रदेश में आए. वहां कब्रों की गुफाओं से निकलकर दुष्टात्मा से पीड़ित दो व्यक्ति उनके सामने आ गए. वे दोनों इतने अधिक हिंसक थे कि कोई भी उस रास्ते से निकल नहीं पाता था.
Two demoniacs met Him, having come to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, coming out from the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one was able to pass through that way.
29 येशु को देख वे दोनों चिल्ला-चिल्लाकर कहने लगे, “परमेश्वर-पुत्र, आपका हमसे क्या लेना देना? क्या आप समय से पहले ही हमें दुःख देने आ पहुंचे हैं?”
And behold, they cried out, saying, What is there to us and thee, O Son of God? have you come hither to torment us before the time?
30 वहां कुछ दूर सूअरों का एक झुंड चर रहा था.
And a herd of many swine was feeding a great way from them.
31 दुष्टात्मा येशु से विनती करने लगे, “यदि आप हमें बाहर निकाल ही रहे हैं, तो हमें इन सूअरों के झुंड में भेज दीजिए.”
And the demons continued to intreat him, saying, If you cast us out, permit us to depart into the herd of swine.
32 येशु ने उन्हें आज्ञा दी, “जाओ!” वे निकलकर सूअरों में प्रवेश कर गए और पूरा झुंड ढलान पर सरपट भागता हुआ झील में जा गिरा और डूब गया.
And He said to them, Go. And they having gone out, went away into the herd of swine; and the whole herd rushed down the precipice into the sea, and perished in the waters.
33 रखवाले भागे और नगर में जाकर घटना का सारा हाल कह सुनाया; साथ ही यह भी कि उन दुष्टात्मा से पीड़ित व्यक्तियों के साथ क्या-क्या हुआ.
And the herders fled, and having gone away into the city, proclaimed all things, and those appertaining to the demonized.
34 सभी नागरिक नगर से निकलकर येशु के पास आने लगे. जब उन्होंने येशु को देखा तो उनसे विनती करने लगे कि वह उस क्षेत्र की सीमा से बाहर चले जाएं.
And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and seeing Him, intreated Him, that He should depart from their coasts.
