मत्ती 4
1 इसके बाद पवित्र आत्मा के निर्देश में येशु को बंजर भूमि ले जाया गया कि वह शैतान द्वारा परखे जाएं.
Then Yeshua was led up by the Rukha into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 उन्होंने चालीस दिन और चालीस रात उपवास किया. उसके बाद जब उन्हें भूख लगी,
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.
3 परखने वाले ने उनके पास आकर कहा, “यदि तुम परमेश्वर-पुत्र हो तो इन पत्थरों को आज्ञा दो कि ये रोटी बन जाएं.”
And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."
4 येशु ने उसे उत्तर दिया, “मनुष्य का जीवन सिर्फ भोजन पर नहीं, बल्कि परमेश्वर के मुख से निकले हुए हर एक शब्द पर भी निर्भर है.”
But he answered and said, "It is written, 'Humankind cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'"
5 तब शैतान ने येशु को पवित्र नगर में ले जाकर मंदिर के शीर्ष पर खड़ा कर दिया
Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
6 और उनसे कहा, “यदि तुम परमेश्वर-पुत्र हो तो यहां से नीचे कूद जाओ, क्योंकि लिखा है, “वह अपने स्वर्गदूतों को तुम्हारे संबंध में आज्ञा देंगे तथा वे तुम्हें हाथों-हाथ उठा लेंगे कि तुम्हारे पैर को पत्थर से चोट न लगे.”
and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you.' and, 'In their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
7 उसके उत्तर में येशु ने उससे कहा, “यह भी तो लिखा है तुम प्रभु अपने परमेश्वर को न परखो.”
Yeshua said to him, "Again, it is written, 'Do not test the Lord, your God.'"
8 तब शैतान येशु को अत्यंत ऊंचे पर्वत पर ले गया और विश्व के सारे राज्य और उनका सारा ऐश्वर्य दिखाते हुए उनसे कहा,
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.
9 “मैं ये सब तुम्हें दे दूंगा यदि तुम मेरी दंडवत-वंदना करो.”
And he said to him, "I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me."
10 इस पर येशु ने उसे उत्तर दिया, “हट, शैतान! दूर हो! क्योंकि लिखा है, तुम सिर्फ प्रभु अपने परमेश्वर की ही आराधना और सेवा किया करो.”
Then Yeshua said to him, "Go away, Satana. For it is written, 'You are to worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
11 तब शैतान उन्हें छोड़कर चला गया और स्वर्गदूत आए और उनकी सेवा करने लगे.
Then the devil left him, and look, angels came and served him.
12 यह मालूम होने पर कि बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन को बंदी बना लिया गया है, येशु गलील प्रदेश में चले गए,
Now when he heard that Yukhanan was delivered up, he withdrew into Galila.
13 और नाज़रेथ नगर को छोड़ कफ़रनहूम नगर में बस गए, जो झील तट पर ज़ेबुलून तथा नफताली नामक क्षेत्र में था.
And leaving Natsrath, he came and lived in Kepharnakhum, which is by the lake, in the region of Zebulon and Naptali,
14 ऐसा इसलिये हुआ कि भविष्यवक्ता यशायाह की यह भविष्यवाणी पूरी हो:
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Eshaya the prophet, saying,
15 यरदन नदी के पार समुद्रतट पर बसे ज़ेबुलून तथा नफताली प्रदेश अर्थात् गलील प्रदेश में, जहां गैर-इस्राएली बसे हुए हैं,
"The land of Zebulon and the land of Naptali, toward the lake, beyond the Yurdinan, Galila of the nations.
16 अंधकार में जी रहे लोगों ने एक बड़ी ज्योति को देखा; गहन अंधकार के निवासियों पर ज्योति चमकी.
The people sitting in darkness have seen a great light, and those living in the land and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned."
17 उस समय से येशु ने यह उपदेश देना प्रारंभ कर दिया, “मन फिराओ क्योंकि स्वर्ग-राज्य पास आ गया है.”
From that time on, Yeshua began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
18 एक दिन गलील झील के किनारे चलते हुए येशु ने दो भाइयों को देखा: शिमओन, जो पेतरॉस कहलाए तथा उनके भाई आन्द्रेयास को. ये समुद्र में जाल डाल रहे थे क्योंकि वे मछुआरे थे.
And walking by the lake of Galila, he saw two brothers: Shimon, who is called Kipha, and Andreus, his brother, casting a net into the lake; for they were fishermen.
19 येशु ने उनसे कहा, “मेरा अनुसरण करो—मैं तुम्हें मनुष्यों के मछुआरे बनाऊंगा.”
And he said to them, "Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of people."
20 वे उसी क्षण अपने जाल छोड़कर येशु का अनुसरण करने लगे.
And they immediately left their nets and followed him.
21 जब वे वहां से आगे बढ़े तो येशु ने दो अन्य भाइयों को देखा—ज़ेबेदियॉस के पुत्र याकोब तथा उनके भाई योहन को. वे दोनों अपने पिता के साथ नाव में अपने जाल ठीक कर रहे थे. येशु ने उन्हें बुलाया.
Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, Yaquv the son of Zabedai, and Yukhanan his brother, in the boat with Zabedai their father, mending their nets, and he called them.
22 उसी क्षण वे नाव और अपने पिता को छोड़ येशु के पीछे हो लिए.
And they immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.
23 येशु सारे गलील प्रदेश की यात्रा करते हुए, उनके यहूदी सभागृहों में शिक्षा देते हुए, स्वर्ग-राज्य के ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार का उपदेश देने लगे. वह लोगों के हर एक रोग तथा हर एक व्याधि को दूर करते जा रहे थे.
And Yeshua went about in all Galila, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
24 सारे सीरिया प्रदेश में उनके विषय में समाचार फैलता चला गया और लोग उनके पास उन सबको लाने लगे, जो रोगी थे तथा उन्हें भी, जो विविध रोगों, पीड़ाओं, दुष्टात्मा, मूर्च्छा रोगों तथा पक्षाघात से पीड़ित थे. येशु इन सभी को स्वस्थ करते जा रहे थे.
And the report about him went out into all Syria, and they brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
25 गलील प्रदेश, देकापोलिस, येरूशलेम, यहूदिया प्रदेश और यरदन नदी के पार से बड़ी भीड़ उनके पीछे-पीछे चली जा रही थी.
And large crowds from Galila, and Decapolis, and Urishlim, and Yehuda, and from beyond the Yurdinan followed him.
